Heres a good tip, use hooks that are twice as small as the hooks your using and fish close to the bank and corn works great, and power bait also only use 8 pound test at the most! I usually use 4 or 6 pound test. Also downgrade your in-line spinner to something way smaller then yours! But only use corn if you’re going to keep them! 🔥 Keep up the good work man! 🔥 good luck!

You want like 8-15 inches of line from the weight and make sure you use floating powerbait.

And use monofilament and not floral you want that bait to float off the bottom use light hooks size 14 treble game on

Corn!? Yeah let me just… they can’t digest corn and they die shortly after eating
Trout specific fisherman here... 1. Use very light mono line (4-6lbs...trout have excellent eyesight) 2. Use much smaller hooks than that and keep more of the hook tip exposed (excellent eyesight) 3. Use a live worm under a small float and split shot to keep the float straight up and down. Dont let your bait sit on bottom, keep it maybe 2 or 3 feet under the float but that depends on water depth 4. When using hard tackle, use small spinners and spoons with single hooks. Blue, silver, gold, pink or any combo of these are the best colours Those rubber worms do work but theyre meant for fishing in current. Trout are very smart fish and can easily tell real from fake...hence using a real worm I personally dont like powerbait, doesnt work all that well...but thats my opinion Biggest thing is to keep moving and casting in different spots. If your worm doesn't get bit within 5 mins, reel up and cast in a different spot

Light line makes all the difference! I prefer 4lb maxima fluorocarbon for leader

Not gonna lie I landed one of my PB’s on power bait, not saying I’d use it everytime because it’s messyey and the glitter in it makes you’re wife question y’all’s relationship. But from experience you really wanna use real small hoos for trout and make the ball of power bait as perfect and small as possible I like to only hide the tip of the hook pretty much almso to the bend of the hook.

I feel like stocked trout are braindead lol
It's NOT the government that stocks those fish at all. It is the state wildlife fishery department each year. Good way to introduce people to fishing
I’d recommend a worm. I have a stocked trout lake that always produces if you use a simple worm and a bobber.
Make sure your bait is floating the hook aswell!
Rig that Berkeley mouse tail like a drop shot with a small sinker. You can run it like a true drop shot, or add a couple inches of leader. Small hook, straight through the head, you don’t have to run it through the bend of the hook like a grub tail. Keep the line tight and just twitch it. Hope that helps
Yep stocked trout are very finicky to catch. Some years I catch 40, others I only catch a couple. Don’t feel bad lol
Fluorocarbon is a pretty big help when dealing with trout. I'd recommend 4-6lb if you're trout fishing. Also, don't be afraid to change spinners. Some trout are looking for that particular color.
Trout are some of the smartest fish you can catch you have to use tiny hooks and really small test line
Try pickled corn usually works very well
Try bread or corn and use a smaller hook u should get em caught a brown today on bread and a tiny bobber
If the trout are fresh from the hatchery use corn, or use small sections of shrimp with a piece of corn on the hook end. They tend to hang around 1-2 feet deep and you want to be in the high traffic zone of where they tend to eat which means look for unusual ripples in the water
Clear bobber 4' away from a small single hook with a worm. Make sure the bobber is kinda filled with water and keep casting and realing
My favorite setup by far is a bottom fishing rig with a mouse tail smeared in garlic scent floating up however much is needed. I go barbless because they almost always swallow that rig whole.
Hey... I have some luck on spinners sometimes. You could also try fly fishing.
Yin been on point with the loops lately
I tried to catch stockies too and had no luck

Use berkly mice tails, someone named like lip ripper or something has many good videos on them and even tho he seems like a goon he definitely knows his stuff
That mouse tail was 100% sunken because of the jig hook you put it on
Nightcrawlers in 2ft to 5ft of water if they arnt hitting on the bottom put a bobber on and keep your bait just under the surface.
The only people who can consistently catch stock trout are the ones that leave 30 fish heads and a can of corn when they leave.
Yo use tiny hooks and also use minnows as bait u can use a bobber or real it super slow with a weight
When powerbait, spinners, and artificial baits let me down.. I throw a meal worm or red worm 🪱🎣
You’ll get em next time I always skunk in my pond
kastmaster has never failed me
You have to be willing to accept not catching a fish while also being optimistic.
Oiiiiiiii mate i have a tip for you im Australia just walk up s and say what are you using and watch a few outdoorlivnnn tic toks on what little lures he uses
1) USE A SPINNER 2) Splitshot a foot a way from hook, attach floating trout dough 3) use a worm on a floater. the worm will catch anything
Use a bobber and worm or a small rooster tail. That ussually works for me
Instead of that big tie on weight, try split shot weights, they hug your line more and are alot less visible, and also they allow your bait to sink slower which trout like that like
Yoo i fished there in richmond!! I was there for the nascar weekend Not gunna give the exact location obviously but that place is good for channel catfish and thats about it
in Netherlands this method is most used because lure fishing is for experts here and for beginners lure fishing is sometimes catching nothing for weeks
As a german fisherman based in bavaria, where troutfishing is very popular, the most effective way is to us a 0,25 mm multi as your main wire, all these people talking about the troust having great eye sight will hate it but that is my setup. I use a 0,20 mm mono as the wire attached to the hook, make it about a metre long and just let the bait float in about 1,5 metre deep, i like to use these swimmers, idk what you americans call it. Put a "bienenmade" i don't know what you call these either, is basically like the baby bees yk? Those white little creatures crawling. And if you want so more aktion use spinners, meppes make the best. Use meppes size 2 or if possible 3, colour depends on the water and the weather and cast it out there
Trout can be super tricky to catch, I'd say a natural presentation or just straight up natural bait is probably gonna work better in areas with lots of fishing pressure
I had the same problem beginning of this year but I used a smaller hook then I was and just a basic worm and started to get em! I think where your worms is floating is huge
2 lb mono, cast close to bank, spray/coat your bait AND your leader with a scent spray or gel
I make my own in-line spinners and we catch so much rainbows on them
Use small treble hooks and cover every part of the hook cause trout have good eyes
In my local pond we use light Carolina rigs with yellow power bait or corn but the weirdest one is marshmallows
Same here brother and I asked them what bait they use. Nightcrawler… and i used spinners, powerbait and stuf like you… sometimes the soulution is simple.
If you’re using braid you should try to put a 4-6lb fluro or mono leader should help you with bites
There’s a pond by my house that stocks trout during the spring and they tend not to be aggressive. I tend to get the most bites when using a #2 Mepps spinner or a worm that’s inflated with air (on a size 8 or smaller hook with a few split shots).
Small hooks, Pink worm rigged wacky and split shot. That’s good for stocked early fall to mid winter. Then start using spinners, crank baits, halgermites later in the spring
Try two power eggs with like 2" of live nightcrawler. Push the eggs up the hook shank until the second egg covers the eye of the hook, then thread the worm onto the shank. Good floating live bait with a spot of color and some extra scent.
At least where I am in Texas. The stick trout will not bite any kind of fake lure or trout bait ball things. However. Garlic corn. Or marshmallows are amazing
I luv ur vids, I always make sure to comment to push them!
They love rooster tails in my experience. And one of the best lures I’ve used that has always caught me a fish when I go out with it is a “Joe’s Fly: Muddler” trout, bass, and walleye always murder that thing.
Here’s a tip I learned I was fishing trout with a friends dad and he said use light tackle and live bait they like the movement of natural things so throw small crayfish and a couple worms
Don’t underestimate that playdoh
I’ve caught some on 1/64oz jigs rigged up with 2.5” inch power bait minnows, here in midwestern stocked ponds. I’ve almost had luck on trout spinners too, mepps and panther martin make some cool ones!
Also u should go to Aurora reservoir It is near me and I don't know what kind of fishing I should do cause I can't catch a trail. I can't catch anything I can't even catch a bass and I've never caught a bass.
My advice would be a small treble hook and lead bait. And make sure it's floating
For the mouse tail bait, use a white power egg and a pink worm, they like that combo better
You will get ‘em try Rapala countdown no power bait !
use a small piece of cut bait and a small hook and splitshot around 12 to 18 inches from your bait i figured this one out while catfishing at my local lake
If you use mouse tail make sure it floats. Carolina rig. Small mosquito hook
Use mini jigs or hookup baits on 2-4# line an Ultralight jig your slack and keep your line straight
Yooo my guy!!! Hair is lookin greeeat!!
Corn works amazingly as the fish are probably from hatcheries, as you said they were put in by the gov..
Shields lake? My wife used to live right down the street from there! Got my first top water bass at the pond
I've had the best luck on stock trout lakes with worm and bobber about 8 foot deep, or off the bottom if you go off the bottom use a worm blower on your worm, if you have access like a dock to walk out to deeper water, using a 1/16 ounce jighead with a worm and jigging it works great too
Power bait is one of my favorite fish bait smells
Use pink and orange power bait me and my fam always catch stuff on that
here in norcal they slam atomic tubes by berkeley and 3in yamamoto senkos cut in half, threaded on a 1/32 jighead. jigging is king here. UL rod and 2lb line.
Just use worms LOL. Much more efficient than powerbait. If you’re gonna use powerbait, use smaller hooks and tie a hair rig
i dont know if it will make a difference but try corn, like a piece or two on just like a regular blue gill hook
I always catch Trout on tiny spoons or spinners. Also bobby Garland OG shad
Just get a worm put it on a size 8 hook Small weight Smaller float with about 2-3feet of room and cast best way to catch them at a pond
A worm jig head and bobber works like perfect trie that
If it's the government putting them in there, I wouldn't eat any of them...
I always use a worm getting it as deep as I can and just letting it sit has always worked
Smaller hooks lighter line and you’re golden , mini jigs, spinners , nymphs and small streamers all work great . I personally fly fish the majority of the time and stocked trout can be super fun with an indicator (bobber) with some flies underneath but if you put some flies under a bobber on a spinning rod that can work well. About 2 1/2 to 5 feet of leader from the float of flourocarbon and you’re gold. Also a Carolina rig with a small like 14-18 size treble hood and some dough bait (power or homemade) all work great. I’d say nothing over 8 pound test but you’ll do better with 6-2 pound tbh
Also canned sweet corn is unbeatable for stocked trout.
stocked trout eat baits toward the surface i never had luck until using power bait eggs just enough to make em float and right below the surface
i find with powerbait doesn't work, a trout magnet with a bubble float or a pink or chartruese floating worm on a split shot rig to do the tricm
My dad told me of times in fishing tournaments when other boats would pull up marlin and in entire week they lost every single one
Pautzke's green label fireball salmon eggs 18 in below bobber. check the jar for juice inside to make sure they arent dry. 💥
Here in italy we go fishing trout pretty often and what I can suggest you is tu use tinier small and covert it well not like u have done cuz trout are smart and can see very well, also I can suggest u to use a float with a small hook and put "camole del miele" on it unfortunately I wasn't able to find a suitable traduction for the type of larva tu use on the float so try searching it in Italian and hopefully figure out by yourself the name of it, good luck 🤟🏼
Just out of curiosity, was that Shield Lake in Richmond Virginia?
Try the yellow cheese power bait , I went to a spot watched everyone catching their limit and I didn’t get none . Switched to the cheese and it worked good
Try whole kernel corn! It’s works for me most ever time, if not try regular night crawlers, or try your hand at learning fly fishing it’s another great way to catch trout and it’s a hell of a good time fight them on a fly rod set up
Nice pond! I I bet you will catch then next time!
I just caught a trout on a hellgrammite. Of course not the species I was targeting, but pretty interesting
Try drop shotting that mouse tail! Scoot and drag it really slow along the bottom.
Corn, size 6 or 4 circle hook, 4Ib leader, and a bobber.
Completely cover the hook in power bait so you can see any of the hook just the line sticking out of the powerbait
Use worms they love worms and I like to use a 8 size hook or 7.
I’m the opposite 😅I can catch stocked trout all day but haven’t had as much success with the bass!! 😂
You should use what the farms use to food them
I just started as well, caught my first trout the other day. Use a trout rig from Walmart to hold 2 hooks away from the line with a weight on the bottom
Put a worm on the hook and inflate it so it will float. If the fish came from a hatchery, use some hatchery bate. The fish are hungry. They will eat the right food.
Canned corn or worms always work with stockers.
gold panther martins work well for them
Trout magnet.
Just a little patience goes a long way I’m sure you caught something
Fly fish them. Trust. - a Canadian
Ti 1:6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline
Use 2 pound fluorocarbon leader and roe bags and if it’s legal get hatchery dust to put on your power bait mimics the smell of the pellets they feed them in the hatchery
You should come take a trip near Pittsburgh,Pa. Season starts in April and I could put you on a ton of fish. Lake and creeks. It’s a good time every year, find a way to message me man
Try bfs bro. I catch giants on rooster tails and sometimes get on a nice bite with a small jerkbait
For trout in stocked ponds i usually use salmon eggs or roe i fish them on a small slip float
