Bernard Cribbins was simply fabulous in everything he did..today’s so called entertainers should be ashamed at their lack of talent. We miss you Bernard! X

Brilliant in every manner. I stayed in England from 1953 to 1970 and I loved the British sense of humor which I followed closely and kept me sane. It was family entertainment unlike the modern stuff coming from what they call entertainers! After 1970, I felt sorry to see that Britain was changing due to the new social influx with new cultures, allowed to come into Britain at a very fast rate .

I grew up with The Wombles and Jackanory and my son with Old Jack's Boat (which we watched together). How many other entertainers lasted that long and did so much for so many people. I know that today, I won't read a single comment that doesn't show appreciation and thanks for Bernard Cribbins' life and work.

Completely agree, especially given his service in the Paras; rightfully he was awarded the OBE, but Sir Bernard would have sounded perfect.

classic music hall!! What an act. The man should have been knighted. He was an absolute talent and a real British treasure!!

He was a big part of my childhood in the 1970s. RIP GREAT ENTERTAINER.

Was there anything this man couldn't do? Music hall, stand up, singing, dancing, jokes, ad libs, banter. And his day job was acting.

My earliest memory of Bernard Cribbins was listening and laughing along with my mother in the kitchen as she put the clothes though the mangle rollers from the old washing machine. Bernard Cribbins was on the old bakelite radio we still had, singing the song about the ‘ole that was “round when it ought to be square” 😂😂. He’ll be so very much missed. R.I.P. dearest gentleman.

@@budgetnuclearweapons7858 Mum and me used to laugh at the way shirts came out the other end of the mangle like people flattened by steam roller 😂. Posh was wall to wall carpeting. We had linoleum and rugs.

RIP Bernard, One of my all time favourite people since childhood. Not just an actor but fabulous human being.

Such a superb performance, the mix of recall, the quality of the writing, the singing, the gestures, and the timing as he responds to the audience, it's all there and it's just wonderful.

Rest in peace, Bernard. What a performer.

Bernard and Ronnie were great friends and as soon as he heard this track Bernard was on the phone to Ronnie to ask if he could sing it on an upcoming edition of TGOD. At the end of the show a lady in the audience told him she hadn't heard that song since she went to music hall in her younger days! A measure of the talents of both men!!

The clown minister’s spokesarsehole confirmed the reports when questioned about them on Friday while showing complete contempt for Brexit voters, flag wavers and Red Wall constituents. In a letter to Mr Case, Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey said it has been proven that the government was “consistently threatening to withhold vital investment from communities across the UK, in an effort to blackmail backbenchers into voting in an unconscionable and immoral way. “It is unthinkable that local communities would be punished by having vital funding taken away, just because their deceitful Tory MPs attempt to defend the indefensible. Johnson, regarded widely as a waste of oxygen, said "the Red Wall voters kindly lent me their vote, it is now up to me how I best use it against them, after all, they all say they knew what they were voting for"

Thank goodness we shall have these memories of Bernard Cribbins to treasure forever - there are a great many Good Old Days on here featuring him, he really was one of the brightest stars on this programme. How sad to have lost Barry Cryer this year, also a stalwart of the programme, and often on the same bill with Bernard. And now this week Duggie Brown also a regular on the show. Boy don't we need the laughs today. At this sad time also remember fondly, Ken Dodd, Larry Grayson, Roy Hudd and John Inman who also made us roar with kindly humour that all our families could enjoy. God Bless them all.

Oh Bernard, I miss you. This was a delight to watch.

The Good Old Days on Friday nights was watched by millions. No internet then, if you missed it then you had to wait decades for the internet to come along. We are very lucky. The BBC had a tendency to 'wipe' shows from its tapes as tape back in the 'Good Old Days' (lol) was very expensive. Now, of course we realise what cultural vandalism that was.

I remember the classic, "Right, Said Fred" whose title became the name of a band. "Hole in the Ground," another classic from the early '60s.

On my 10th birthday!

I'm sure it's already been said. But what stands out to me about Cribbins is his timeless appeal. He never seemed dated, as he always seemed to follow the times (and embrace them) and that's what sustained his career. A truly unique talent.

Do you actually _remember_ 1975? Those good old days when women were still second class citizens, who could be legally raped by their husbands because rape from a husband wasn’t seen as a crime! When woman got paid less for doing the same job, just for the misfortune of having a vagina. When we had three tv channels. When BT had the monopoly on telephones and hardly anyone had a home phone. When Jimmy Saville was allowed to be everything he was, vile creature. And Garry Glitter! When the UK’s inflation was at 25% OPEC raised the price of oil by 10% Tv shows included Love Thy Neighbour a show about racism and Miss World a show about sexism. Yeah, good old days my arse! Loss your rose tinted glasses and appreciate the world we have now and if you don’t like this world, do something to change it instead of moaning about it.

Timeless, flawless, harmless comedy at its best. Notice how Mr Cribbins doesn’t need to swear and cuss to win over a crowd? 👏👏👏
