Scripted by John Kier Cross, produced by W. Gordon Smith, and first broadcast on the BBC Scottish Home Service on May 20th 1959, marking ACD’s centenary on the 22nd; that version was c.45 minutes in length. A “slightly shortened” version - which this may be - was then broadcast on the BBC Home Service on July 17th 1959.
