In 2000 The Beekeeper's Apprentice was adapted as a 4-part BBC radio dramatization starring Monica Dolan as Russell, James Fox as Holmes and Sian Thomas as Donleavy. Shaun Prendergast, who wrote the adaptation also starred as Watson.

    While i think this is an excellent radio play and a fine Holmes pastiche, at the same time i found it extremely obvious, right from the second episode, who the culprit is. Thanks a lot for uploading so many Holmes audio gems that were still mostly unknown to me!

    Hmm...yes. Counterbalanced by having a " feisty " ( excuse cliche ) female protagonist. Sprightly dialogue but rather uninspired plotting was bit of a letdown. Still....better than the vast majority of current BBC Radio drama. Violin music was a major irritant..
