I'm actually thankul they decided to give a final season instead of just cancelling the show. This show deserves to have a farewell. We will get to see things wrap up and say goodbye to the characters and their stories.

Agreed But if it’s any consolation it’s that it’s getting a proper ending on its own terms.

After seven seasons, I will miss The Good Doctor so much. 😭😭😭😭

I am somewhat surprised that this is going to be it. Now, two things I want to see: 1) I hope they find a way to bring Claire back to help wrap things up. 2) I definitely want to see Hershey show up in the final scenes.

@JeremiahaYoung Nothing is happening to Shaun. I can't see that happening. If anything happens, Glassman could and probably should die close to the end. At that point, then Shaun finds that letter that Glassman kept back in S1, and with Lea's support, Shaun, Lea, and Steven Aaron Murphy all move to Hershey and that is how I think the show will end.

@@adamslayton5417 It's up to the writers to decide what they see as the most fitting way to wrap up the story. I would personally hate it if they went the way you're saying. I don't see why the 4 of them can't finally be a happy family, after all the drama they had to go through. Also, Glassman dying would feel like an old story, at this point. They've been teasing his death for years and it never actually happened. You yourself have been repeating this for more than 6 years. So what? His tumor back once again? A new stroke? A car running over him? It would make for lazy writing and there's no practical reason to do that. The show will be over regardless. Anyway, we'll see.

@danielavingiani First of all, I have not been saying this for 6 years, only since the beginning of S6. Second, I feel that I can't see this ending any other way. Glassman has taught Shaun everything he knows, and at this point, I feel that Shaun is ready to be on his own. I get why you want Glassman to live to the end of the show, but him dying at this point, considering the show has always been about him and Shaun, makes the most sense.

@@adamslayton5417 Listen, this is my opinion, so I hope you don't get offended over it. But, as far as I'm concerned, based on what we've seen on screen, especially these last couple of seasons, Shaun is already on his own, he has already become indipendent. There's no need for Glassy to die to accomplish that. Still, he's an autistic person and as such he'll always need some form of support. Shaun will never grow out of his autism. And for this reason it's important that he can rely on his family and close circle of friends, with whom he can be himself without being judged, and get help when he needs it. This is what Glassman does, and also Lea. They treat him like an adult and respect his decisions, but they're there for Shaun when he needs advice or guidance. It's all there is and nobody needs to die for Shaun to grow even further. Also, why would Shaun want to move to Hershey? It's another thing I fail to understand. He finally found a place at St. Bon's where he's accepted exactly the way he is. Something he never had in his life, before. Why would he choose to start all over again in different place, where he would need to prove himself once again? Where he would struggle to be accepted and to make friends? There's no logic in that.

I can't believe season 7 is the final season. I thought this show would get renewed for an eighth season next year, but I already know it's not gonna happen. So sad to see this show go. I could be wrong but I think season 7 will have 10 episodes

I Hope Dr. Claire Brown( Antonia Thomas) makes a guest appearance in the final season. Glad it didn’t get canceled when shows were getting canceled left right and center.

I’m just going to be heartbroken when it’s over, I have never missed one episode, I always DVR as I live out in the country, I have satellite, I accidentally deleted an episode before I watched it. I called the provider, begging please tell me how to retrieve it, the representative said oh that’s a great show. My husband says he thinks I would tear the house down if I couldn’t watch. Freddie such and outstanding actor and producer, I just love the entire cast. ❤

Claire is coming back for the final season which makes senses cuz now you have all the people from season 1 back for the final season expect Dr. Neil Melendez unfortunately cast character that died

This show is my favorite and l will watch it again from the 1st season in a few years. because in all honesty there have been more then a few times shawn should have been fired and wasn't, keep going and you will hit problems. as someone on the spectrum i can appropriate them wanting to do a show like this but the fact he keeps winning and getting away with things a nerial typical doctor wouldn't do sent set a good example or a good story line

How expressing your feelings without hurting the other person and also always listen to the other person involved in a discussion or conflict cuz for them, it matters that they feel heard and understood for them to even open up their hearts to you❤❤ thank you

7 years sounds like a good round number, not too short and not too long. Plenty of great shows have been dragged out and ended up with sub-par endings, so it's better to go out with a bang instead of fizzle out.

Gutted season 7 is the last season, wish it could go on for longer. But at least all the characters have had a storyline to have a happy finish, rather than leaving storylines unfinished or characters left without an ending. Sean and Leah are together with a healthy baby, and both doing well in their careers. Glassman and Sean make up, and though we know Glassman has dementia which is sad, we also know he will be surrounded by people he cares about and has a family with Sran, Leah and Baby Steve. Morgan has a child now, is back together with Dr. Park and they are also doing well in their careers. Audery Lim is engaged, back to health and also doing amazing in her career. And the rest of the docters are doing and thriving well too. Sad the shows ending, but lovely not to be left high and dry.

I am glad they are wrapping things up. They did a wonderful job telling Shaun's story. He found acceptance as a surgeon, made friends, found love, got married, and had a baby. There aren't too many stories left to tell.

Very sad!! I'm just glad that ABC is going to let the show go out on its own terms by letting the show say a proper farewell. It also shows the proper respect to its loyal viewers. It's a shame the awards community couldn't recognize what a brilliantly acted and written show this is. Particularly by Highmore, Spara, and Schiff.
