Its unfortunate KZread only shows the first three English accents in the description summary. Too many people who like to react without caring to watch the video or expand the description for a little more context. Those types of comments could be reduced in the future by placing a buffer of text in the top three lines of the description or something. Anyway, thanks for sharing the video! Very interesting. 😊

His parents are actors too. my guess is that he grew up with foreign nannies around or that he started learning other languages very young. you can teach a child over three languages before a child is 3 years old. That way they don't have an accent.

Freddie is an academic beast with perfect A* grades in every subject in high school (including Spanish and French), then achieved a double first Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Arabic from Cambridge University (effectively a 4.0 GPA) whilst filming the first two seasons of Bates Motel.

Hearing your language spoken well by a person who isn't suppose to speak it just brings wonder and warmth into your heart.

Gestures and expressions, through movement, are indicators of attention to the nuances of languages and communication. When one has mastered two or more, in addition to a native language, it becomes easier to appreciate these differences or similarities. Add in a sign language and it broadens those perspectives. I appreciate his attention to those details.

As a native Spanish speaker myself, Freddie's conversational Spanish is excellent! Having said that, his first movie I saw was 'Finding Neverland' so it's weird to hear him swearing in other roles! :D

I was just proud that I understood most of what he said. I learned the "euuuh" in conversation class in university so it doesn't seem remarkable to me. *attempts gallic shrug. fails, but amused self anyway*

I've enjoyed watching Freddie on The Good Doctor since the first episode and when he was speaking Spanish flawlessly on the last 2 episodes, it blew me away. I've noticed a lot of British actors speak different languages and they speak them very well, here in America we're too ignorant to learn a second language, its looked down upon which is just ridiculous. Being able to communicate with other folks in THEIR native tongue is a sign of total respect!

I don’t think people look down on learning another language in America, unless you are an immigrant and the second language you are learning is English. People don’t seem to realize that’s just as impressive, if not more than learning B level Spanish in high school.

@@sparkybish it is interesting to study adaptions to the immigrant experience, esp. in language acquisition and learning additional ones. First generation after immigrating often focus on the new local language habits and culture. Second generation often wish to preserve the heritage keystones of their grandparents' country or region of origin. I often see these while doing genealogy. Some generations or language cohorts may retain the structure of the former culture as identity longer than others. No one pattern is "better" than another, but all are fascinating.

He'd pick up Italian too in a couple of weeks.

For speaking, Italian and Spanish are very close. Speaking multiple (disparate) languages is common around the Mediterranean, as well as central Europe. What is unusual is picking up a new language quickly.

His french is actually very good . He can even pronounce ح in Arabic!! I'm impressed

I speak more or less 6 languages, unfortunaly not handsome like him. He's good actor and his Spanish is perfect, so the French, I think he can understand and speak Italian also, knowing 2 Romance languages. I think to be handsome and multilingual should be considered illegal 😇

I am from Norway and understand the Scandinavian languages very well. My second language is English and I understand most of it. I had French at school 20 years ago and through that I also understand some Spanish and Italian. German is close to Norwegian, so I get that too, and can understand some Icelandic. In addition I also know a couple of songs in Swahili and one in Chinese. I love finding words here and there and English words in Indian languages and in Japanese among others.

He’s too good for Harry Potter. He has a very special and underrated talent. Every movie he’s been in has it’s own magical element that’s really brought on by his presence. He’s obviously talented outside of acting as well. Fine man he has turned out to be.
