I lived in Vegas from 1987 to 1993 and my dad worked for a construction company that helped build the Excalibur. I remember going to the grand opening and all the workers and their families were invited to a free grand buffet and an exclusive jousting performance. It was such an amazing experience and being a 6 year old kid made it even better!

I also lived there during that same time. No construction relatives. Didn’t see the construction of the place, was working 3rd shift and slept during the day. Did go see the jousting performance shortly after it opened and have all the $1 coins they minted in circulated condition (free money for them!). The experience was great but never stayed there. Luxor didn’t exist and neither did Mandalay Bay or Trams.

Google reminds me that I was at the Excalibur exactly four years ago this week. We had an amazing 11 night stay when we went from Manchester,England. I am sure I would have returned by now if it was not for covid. None of us are getting any younger so I am looking at going back now. These videos by you,Norma,Jaycation,Matthew, etc, etc are a fantastic source of entertainment and education for us tourists, especially when you tell us about things off strip that are not very well advertised.Just a tip from me is to ask for a room in the resort tower,as it is easier to get to the pool. Thanks and stay safe.

Excalibur is one of the cheaper options usually on the strip, I know that people complain about the rooms being not the best. But for majority of the time I am not in the room and I am out and about enjoying Las Vegas. I only really go to the room just to shower/sleep. Love them videos, keep them coming!

I went there a lot in the 90's. back then the upstairs was extremely family oriented. They ran it much like an old castle. They had puppet shows, and magic shows and other entertainment. As someone who was a huge medieval fan, spending all day upstairs as a kid in the 90's was so much fun. Now it's just a shopping mall, nothing special about it anymore. it's a shame.

I stayed at the Excalibur in March for my first Vegas trip. I got a good deal booking during the holiday season. 18 dollars a night. I was in a room on the tenth floor. It was fine and relatively clean. There wasn’t any noise from the other rooms. There are two benefits Jacob didn’t mention. The airport is close to the Excalibur. A great benefit if you have an early morning flight. The second is the buffet. 30 dollars. It’s open from around 10-3. Lots of food, including a meat carving station and a made to order crepe station. Ate around 11, skipped breakfast, and was full till dinner around 6.

I remember the first time I stayed at the E xcalibur it was during rodeo week in 1998. It was my first time ever in Las Vegas and we checked into the hotel about 9:30 at night and in the morning when I woke up I open the curtains and they put us on the side of New York New York with the roller coaster going I was in such awe of it. I gotta say, I love your hotel reviews. It's nothing fancy for the rooms, it's what the average person would choose. Simple and to the point without any extra effects and unrelated topics. Thanks for all you do!
The only way the resort fee goes away at this point is if the state regulates it away which the state should. I know the hotel prices will just jump 50 bucks a night to make up for it but I would rather see 150 a night vs this nonsense of 100 per night plus a 45 dollar resort fee.

Stayed here a few times, was here for opening weekend as a kid. Family friendly and not bad if you are on a budget, but rooms are definitely in need of renovation. Great video.
I like the format of this video! Very easy to follow and gives a good tour of the property! Lots of good information!
Another great video showcasing one of the historic casinos in Vegas. Love your pro's and con's and the employee shoutouts.
Been hanging out here since the early '90s. #1 bartender at the Lobby Bar has been there since the opening in 1990, and IMHO he's the best bartender IN TOWN. He's become a good friend. What saddens me about MGM is they've lost sight of who their customer is. This place is clearly for the "low roller" crowd, not the ballers who want to hang at the new posh properties and don't mind paying outrageous prices for everything. They used to understand this, and drinks were cheap, food was reasonable, etc. Now everything is gouge city. This is the reason people flock to places like South Point, who caters to that same customer, but actually knows how to do it, and do it well. We spend a ton of time there now too.
You do a great job, Jacob. Thank you for sharing!

Well done Jacob. Enjoying these. Very useful and informative review as usual. Cheers.
I stayed at the Excalibur on both my trips in 2022, and in March of 2023. Highly underrated property. Sure, the rooms aren't plush like those on the center Strip, but it is as good as the places I've stayed at downtown (without all the noise). I don't go to Vegas to spend a lot of time in my room, so this fits the bill. It's close to other properties and a short stroll to go to a Golden Knights game. The casino has a nice vibe to it. Thanks for putting together this video. I wondered why the tram I took skipped the Luxor, but now I know I was on the wrong track, thanks to the video!

Thanks so much for this video and updates. First trip to Vegas was in 1999 and stayed at the Excalibur. It was so much fun and inexpensive. I had never been in a hotel and casino that was so massively huge. Buffets were like $3.99 for breakfast and you would get a buy one get one free buffet coupon which could also be used for the dinner buffet which was like $8.99. Room was $20, no resort fee and free use of the phone for local calls as not everyone used cell phones. A great stay for families for cheap eats and the arcade. The hotel would give you free arcade coupons or 2 for 1 coupons for other entertainment. Never used the arcade freebies but gave them to kids playing games in the arcade. If the room smells funky, break out your favorite room spray from Bath and Body. I always keep this packed in my to go bag for all my trips, cruises etc. and have been going to Vegas since 1999 but prefer to stay at TI as it has the bridge to the Fashion Show Mall etc. I'm more of a shopper and into fine dining than gambling but how can anyone NOT have fun in Vegas. It's always changing with so much to do that the word Boredom doesn't exist in this city.
I had a suite there recently and it was quite nice. I had a huge tub, dining area, and refrigerator. I had a basic Royal Tower room in April for a concert offer and it was renovated and clean. No weird smells that some complain about. Unless you have to stay or work from your room for hours, all you really need is a clean room, good AC, and a comfortable bed while in Vegas.
Ive never stayed at the Excalibur, but have spent nights in there doing a spot of gambling while roaming the strip. I like the atmosphere, it feels a little bit more grounded and real compared to some of the high end casinos.
Great video Jacob

I believe the rooms smell the way they do because they treat the rooms for bedbugs with heat if I'm not mistaken I've stayed here and found bed bugs in my room and management cares very little to correct the issue went over and stayed at the Luxor management was very understanding after explaining what happened and gave me a great rate

Hello 👋 Jacob . Thank you for sharing your videos ❤.
I stayed there once, it was okay; nothing more. I equate it w an old Holiday Inn. I was a "LV newby" at the time, found it affordable & the Welcome to Las Vegas sign was an easy walk. I also liked that the casino has a Krispy Kreme Donuts! I hear they have a good Medieval Times show, but I've never seen it. Who besides me votes for a Monorail that goes full circle up & down the strip? In fact, it would be even better if it went all the way to Fremont Street!

I was there back in 2018 and I was in one of the rooms. I had the same musty smell as well. I took the time to look around the room. I noticed the AC / Vent was full of Mega dust Bunnies "bigtime" I popped off the housing and put it in the shower and cleaned it. I let it dry for the day when I was out. came back later and installed the housing back. The air in the room was 110% better. I'm not saying everyone who gets a room and takes off or apart the AC housing. I just know how to get a report of anything, so I was very comfortable servicing the unit. I’m looking forward to moving to Las Vegas sometime this. I have been enjoying getting to know Vegas through watching your videos. Keep up the good job Jacob.

Took the family through there and had no idea of the shows or arcade or shopping! We are small town people, so maybe we were just overwhelmed by the city in general. Thank you for the video.

Really great review as always. I like the Excalibur, depending on the time of year. The hotel itself is a great deal if you don't spend a lot of time in it. For me , I am usually out roaming the strip, seeing shows and eating/drinking. I always get one of the rooms with the soaking tubs, after walking the strip for hours, it is a nice relaxing break. I don't recommend it as a place to stay when school is out, it is definitely geared to families and it shows.
Last November, my wife and I stayed at the Luxor, but we also visited the casino areas of Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. I saw the big dragon at The Dragon's Lair, walked through the mall and food court and went down the escalator to the Exalibur casino, lobby and walkway to New York New York. I look forward to returning to this brilliant complex of hotels/casinos on the south Strip sometime soon!

Good video as usual Jacob. Stay at Excal quite often (6 out of last 8 visits) mainly because its cheaper than most and we spend most of our time at bars etc at NYNY and its next door. When flying from UK (and fairly frequently) hotel price is very important for us so for the location and price its ideal and its not like we spend much time in the rooms anyway, just sleep and get ready (always been adequate for the purpose).

Great video! I've stayed at Excalibur a couple of times - yep, rooms are a little dated but i's cheap. LOL The first time, I stayed right above the pool - totally cool! But, the bathroom was a little dirty - some hairs in the sink, toilet was a little ick but still it was okay. This last time I went, I had a view of the strip and it was in one of the "stay well" rooms which is on a non smoking floor and they had air purification aromatherapy, etc. This room was spotless and I really enjoyed the stay. I highly recommend one of the "stay well" rooms if you can. Also, I have done a couple of excursions and both times I was able to take the bus from the property so I didn't have to travel to another hotel for pick up which was nice.
Good video, very professional

We usually stay at the Excalibur. I run the strip in the mornings, so it's straight to Circus and back about 6.2 miles in total. The little one loves the pools for sure. The buffet is actually pretty darn good. It's right next to the NY which has the coaster, and then a few blocks from Planet which has those good shops. The gambling is great; they have one of those video craps multiplayer ring areas. My little one likes the games downstairs, but I was once bonked in the head with a rubber ball thrown by a little monster child, so the supervision wasn't as great down there. There are some great shows in the vicinity as well. Our room is just... well a room. I like how they now require a key or phone app to board the elevators; it keeps the randos from bugging.
It's been a while since I've been there (early 2000's). The price for the room was about $30 and looked about the same as your room (but it was cleaner back then). Resort fee back then: None, zero, no fee. What's a resort fee? Parking: Totally free. You just drive in back and park in the garage. The buffet. I forgot the price, but I don't think lunch was even $10.
Thanks for this! We're staying at the Luxor end of June, and learning more about Excalibur is a big benefit. I used to work Renaissance faires back in the day, and I looked at the property, unfairly, through that lens when I visited there last. We're looking for some family-friendly things to do, not necessarily on the Strip. Our son found Impact Archery and wants to do that... any chance of a video covering things like that in the future? Thanks for all the great content!
I stayed there at Christmas and loved it. Close to the things I wanted to do on the strip, the room was big and clean, the casino wasn't crazy smoky, and was close to the bus stops to take the deuce up and down the strip on. Loved it. I already booked it again for Christmas 2023
Great review Jacob. I stayed there in January and had a great time. One thing to note my Uber dropped me at the south end and immediately picked up another rider so you might get dropped at the pickup spot. Hope this was a helpful hint

The clean carpet smell of Excalibur is one of a kind. Once you step foot in the casino, you know it's Excalibur. The Buffett is pretty good for the price, if you use the self check out you end up avoiding the huge line to get in. The Lounge has a DJ on the weekends.
Another great video! I like staying at the Excalibur it was always a good price. Learned a valuable gambling lesson at the craps table, leave if you keep loosing.
Great video of Excalibur. It's not a bad hotel, just not as great as others on the Strip, but I have great memories from that place. Pool is decent. Great job Jacob!
I’ve been going to Las Vegas since the 1990’s and have stayed at Excalibur several. It’s next door to Luxor, MGM, New York New York and T-Mobile arena. It also has a reasonably price buffet on the second floor. People may complain about the rooms but you save money compared to other Strip Casinos and Hotel.
I have stayed at Excalibur every year since 2019 and never had a problem. Resort fees are the exact same I think across all the MGM properties. I do a convention every year that is held over at MGM and even with the block of rooms for that convention Excalibur is still cheaper and a good deal. I enjoy staying there every year and will probably continue to book a room there each year.
Hello thank you for all your review videos I will be there at the end of June how is the buffet at Bellagio have you ever done a video there thank you
I commend your review of the Excalibur. We have stayed there several times in our 13 years of coming to Vegas. We started staying mid strip for various reasons. We stopped driving, hence the parking fees. We Uber now. The location of the southern end is the biggest Con for us, even though we have to visit the Excalibur on about every stay. We just can't come to Vegas without our Excalibur fix. The slots have been good to us there, not great, but OK. The atmosphere is great, and some of my family members feel the same when we do the family trips. We haven't had a bad room there yet, but as you noted, some of the housekeeping gets lax. Not dirty but needs closer attention. We don't pool as we have one at home. We go to Popeyes upstairs for our last quick meal before heading home our last night. We don't stay here anymore, but still visit about every trip. Excalibur isn't a bad place, just roll with the punches. We ever get tired of the mid strip, we'll come back to Excalibur. Like your reviews. Don't know if you have done Bally's, but Horseshoe has a need to be reviewed and compared. Our last trip was a bummer.
Wow! I am actually here now. Let's just say you get what you pay for...love your videos Jacob; keep them coming.
