Finally, someone with some actual real-world takes on the 210. We just picked up the SX version, and we're looking forward to getting on the water. Speakers are ASA Electronics (Jensen) 25 watts rms, and the stereo output is 20 watts rms, fairly under-powered, so speakers and an amp will help a lot.

We took our AR210 2021 out last weekend for the first time. Absolutely loved it. We are taking James suggestion and adding Thrust Vector to our boat. We also added a Garmin fish finder and 4 pole holders to the tower, 2 on each side. Overall we couldn't be happier with our new boat.

Thank you for sharing your opinion of older Yamaha jet boat construction, I was thinking of purchasing a 2006 AR210. I already read how "noisy" the older ones were, and saw the sound deadening material in this new version; but you mention the motor noise at 8500rpm drowns out the standard stereo. So poor build quality and noisier than new are game changers for my search for old Yamaha.

Aloha, I would have to agree that twin motors would drown out my SX190's stereo system (OEM 4 speakers) but with the single motor, we can still hear the system at a medium cruise. Once under away though and at full gallop with the wind and ocean breeze everything gets drowned out. I dont think I agree that older Yamahas are "trash" either but that is subjective. I'm into my 4th year with a 2017 model and to date 144 days on the water (practically every weekend). I've had one engine light come and it was the O2 Sensor. Other than that the boat has been flawless. The trailer though is another story. Glad to see your vid, you're going to have a blast this summer.

Hi there, My husband and I just bought out 2021 AR 210 we took out for a few hours and while out noticed the bilge light came on and the ski locker had water inside it. When we returned pulled the drain plug a ton of water came out of the hull of the boat also the cabinet were all soaking wet.. So I was curious if you had any explanation of why this happened? We took back to dealer for them to check into it for us but of course getting run around. We are very irritated with the hole situation. You pay that kinda of money and want everything to be perfect. But anyways I would greatly appreciate your input if you know of anything that could be causing this issue.

  • @JamesMoVlogs

water will always come out of your drain plug when you pull out but should not be that much that the bilge comes on. I would check the hoses, and make sure you have the gasket ring on the drain plug. Don't crank on the drain plug when putting it in just hand tight

Watch for the nuts that hold the bench seat in place. Vibration loosened mine and they just drop down in the hull where you can’t get to them. I’m looking for a solution if you have one. Keeping engines in sync takes experience. Note that you can’t engage cruise assist until the engines are within 300 rpms of each other (I think) which took some getting used to. There is SIGNIFICANT difference in engine noise between the TR1 and the High Output engines that come on the 212. TR1 is very loud in cabin. But, is it worth the extra $$ for high output engines? Personal choice there but the high output engines are more powerful and less noise. Would I buy an AR210 again? Absolutely, even with it’s flaws. Less electronics and features means much less can go wrong. Another thing to keep an eye on, I have experienced reverse thrust not engaging. Keep in mind that shaft and prop are always running in same direction whether forward or reverse thrust. So really all that is happening is the cover comes down over the jet nozzle to redirect water when in reverse. So, in my case, it feels like there is an electrical malfunction where from time to time, the jet nozzle cover will drop, throttle cables engage but the engines don’t respond with increased RPM. Power cycle including turning off the battery has fixed this for me when it happens. Happy Boating! Best time of the year!
