Prof forgetting to spend his money after the first round and becoming a gold statue like Sa'luk
From round 1, once you find a winning hand in your 8-card hand, you can first use every extra hand for a High Card worth +$3, for a total of +$9 per round. Not doing that costs *a ton* of money.

15:10 doesn’t he do this here?

@@Indomm Yes, he did it occasionally, but I skipped through the run and didn't see him do it consistently, especially in the beginning of each run. E.g. he still didn't do it at 41:55. Much like in many of the record attempt videos, in each round of this challenge it's optimal to spend all hands and cards, rather than winning with the first 5-card hand. Finally, when thinking about this challenge, it might help to reconceptualize it as: "after you play a hand, don't redraw any cards that scored". So the discard strategy is to search for the best 8 cards that allow you to win the round while playing all those cards.

too much money will reduce your hand size in this challenge @@MondSemmel

I noticed this too - he was consistently passing up $6/$9

@@MondSemmel He did it pretty consistently, the part you're referencing he wouldve won with 1 card due to the holographic gelatto. He played 5 cards to maximize money.
Heart absolutely SANK at 40:05
this challenge might actually be fun and fair if not for the hand size restriction. I love the ideas of some of these challenges, but most of them are like "play the game but every boss blind effect is always active and you only get 1 joker slot and 2 hand size. Antes scale 10x faster." the challenges are supposed to put a fun twist on the game, while not making them TOO much more difficult. this is absurd

But they are challenges after all...

I think the hand size restriction is interesting, but minus 1 hand size for every $1.50 is a bit too aggressive IMO. Maybe if there was a little bit of a buffer where it only kicked in once you were over $5 or something, so there would be a little more flexibility during shop rounds to not feel like you have to spend all the way down to $0 or $1.

ArAxus, chqllenges aren't fun when the whole gist of it is fish for good jokers/tarots/planets. Having less limitations allows for various methods to beat a challenge, which is fun

@@littlehorn0063 to each their own. Fun is subjective
Wouldn't playing cards debuffed by a boss allow full redraws? Seems like a viable strategy for this challenge.
11 minutes goes hard
the proffessor needs to read challenge rules, #1 source of losses
You really gotta unlearn some habits for this challenge
Technically: a policula.
I wonder if you can get duellog to collab on yugioh

challenge idea: jokerless on the ancient gold stake
Is credit card banned? It would be fun to increase hand size by going into debt

Yes, the rules banned credit card for this challenge.
I like the little dance the cards do after you win a hand
