But dunking bowl (the outer bottom part of which touches human hands as well as the surface of the shelf it is sometimes kept on) into the reservoir to scoop up water is not really hygienic. Collect filtered distilled water from a tap system.

Wonderful! Thank you, very moving to see people of all religions, castes and creeds having a meal together in peace and harmony. Love in action.

Amritsar is a wonderful city i was there about six months ago, and i recomend youto go to the Pakistani Border to the changing of the guards there, it's a wonderful show not to be missed. Its also a good time to head for the hills, to the Vaishno Devi temple north of Jammu, it's a nice place in the hills, and unexplored jem just waiting to be discovered :)

Thank you for showing us this. I'm travelling to India from the UK next year and visiting Amritsar in March. Really looking forward to visiting the Golden Temple

Thanks for the walk down memory lane Gabi , i visited Amritsar Golden Temple around 6 years ago , inspiring to experience and learn about the Sikh culture . For some entertainment i'd thoroughly recommend going to see the closing ceremony at the Wagga border crossing . I'll travel back there one day . Take care

I visited this extraordinary temple many years ago, it was absolutely breathtaking. I didn’t partake of the food or visit the kitchens, so it was great to see this side of the monumental production in feeding so many thousands of people. when India was being invaded one after another by outsiders in ancient times it was the Punjab, now divided between India and Pakistan which took the most beating. because of gen0cides one after the other it gave birth to the warrior community called Sikh. they have saved millions of Indians specially women. they are a big reason that present day India not an Islamic country.
