Great video. So many other videos talk about what it is and overlay it on several images, but this is one of few that explains examples of application. thank you!
These videos are amazing!!!
Good work!
Thanks for this lucid explanation. :)
I'm doing research for a "How to take nicer screenshots" for Guild Wars 2 (Game) and this is such a nice refresher. I learned all bout it back in school but wanted to rewatch some videos so I dont talk BS.. xD great video and love your photographs!!!
Well explained!
Thanks goodness I found this video a clean explanation of Golden Spiral cheers mate :)
Great video!
Finally someone explained it well
Good explanation Sir 👍
Something that should be noted is that for the golden spiral to work, it should be applied to an image with the dimensions of the golden rectangle. In other words an image (rectangle) whose long side is 1.618 times longer as the short side. Think 10x16 for example. Applying a spiral inside an image with dimensions of a different ratio wouldn’t have the same natural appeal. The golden spiral depends on the golden rectangle as it’s canvas. Without it its just a spiral, and not ‘golden’.
What an underrated video.
Awesome! Thanks! :D
Excellent explanation, thank you!
New drinking game; take a shot every time he says ''golden spiral''.

VERY much appreciated!! Hit the thumbs up, shared the video, and I subscribed. Thanks again, and stay safe!!!

Thank you
Nice, thanks! But in photoshop how do you rotate or invert the guides please?
Nice thanks
good to know
How often did Davinci use either of these "rules"?
good video
Is a great composition tool but very few cameras have a golden spiral grid line in their viewfinders or rear screens.

No he didn't.
What you did not show your viewers is the many photos you took that did NOT use the golden ratio.

I would argue against that by saying that in the chapter "Can I apply it to every image : 3:46" I explain how not every photograph should use the golden spiral. I then proceed to give many examples of photos that do NOT use the golden spiral.
This is just a fad. Great photographic masters like Henri Cartier Bresson, Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Man Ray, Diane Arbus, Imogin Cunningham, Annie Leibovitz. They didn't the golden spiral, and all these other sophisticated compositional techniques. They all were masters in their own right. They had the most basic of cameras and chemicals for development and they were masters. What did they know that modern photographers today don't.
Unnecessary annoying manipulation music.
