@The Outsider She's losing championship games like 6-1, to 6-2 and in one Finals it was 6-1 to 6-1. Being a mother isn't stopping her from making the Finals round, but superior women in their physical prime are stopping her from achieving the record for the most Championships in a career. Margaret Court has 24 grand slams and Serena has 23, and she's been sitting on 23 for over the past 4 years. She no longer has the confidence to believe she can overtake Court, so she's blaming biology and men as an excuse to why she didn't accomplish her ultimate goal.

Serena's perspective is all wrong. It's incredible to be the GOAT of a major sport AND be a mother by giving birth. That makes an incredible HUMAN BEING. Men could never claim that. It's an honour. But instead, Serena doesn't value GIVING LIFE and building a family. That's what all feminists devalue - motherhood and family. It's seen as "less than" and "not fair" when it's actually MIRACULOUS. She and the media have been chasing the narrative of "high-end female athlete gives birth and continues to win" - she's been chasing that post-birth championship for that reason. But guess what - it's nearly impossible to stay at the highest level of your sport and be pregnant and raise a family. Facts. I hope her kids don't grow up and read her stupid comments one day. Imagine how they'd feel. Get lost Serena. Your attitude on the court was disgusting for a while and while you are the GOAT of women's tennis, your time expired a while ago. Like when Osaka beat you clean in the US Open and you stole the spotlight for yourself. She should've gone out then - at the top, handing the torch to the next generation. Good riddance. It is sad to see and hear her now. Brett's right, she's tired and unhappy. She's hanging on by a thread and has probably only pushed this long to chase the narrative (post-birth super mom championship). Hang 'em up girl.

The Amazon river runs for thousands of miles. At some points it runs through areas of the rain forest that are almost untouched and have been barely explored. Because of the porous limestone in these areas, the river water leaks through the stone and travels deep into the earth, forming underwater pools almost a mile below the surface. Over thousands of years, tiny, blind, transparent fish have lived and evolved in these pools without ever seeing the sun nor the surface and have never been seen by the human eye. These fish care more about this than I do.

She is complaining that because she is a woman and decided to have a child that her tennis career is over. All I said was that if her career is more important than her child then she has the money to pay someone to raise that child and continue her career if she wants to be that self centered. Just don’t say things like this because one day her child will see this and it could possible make her kid feel like her job was more important than them.

That's nonsense and not just because she's been married for 5 years and already has child. Dozens of female tennis players have been wives and mothers. Any time a professional athlete says they are quitting to focus on family, they are lying. She's retiring because age is catching up with her and she can't win on the highest level any more.

What people respect in the end is you were a beloved husband or wife and a father and mother to your children. That’s all you’re going to be remembered for: family. What she is failing to mention is that the real driving force in her wanting to continue playing is that she is two Grand Slams away from being, statistically, the greatest female player of all time. She is one Grand Slam away from Margaret Court's record of 24 slams, which would make her equal best. As it stands, Williams will go down in the record books as the second best player in history. For a rampant narcissist like Williams, this would be the cause of substantial cognitive dissonance. In her mind, she's the best there could ever be, but reality says something different. In fact, there is a fair argument to say that she would be equal second with Steffi Graf, since Graf was the only woman since Court to win the full calendar Grand Slam, winning all four majors in one calendar year, a feat that Williams also failed to achieve. What we are seeing now is someone who is living with that cognitive dissonance, and as a narcissist, she will lash out and blame anyone but herself.

There would be women who would be happy to have $240 million and live a fulfilled life without complaining about the sacrifices they’re making. She’s a spoiled brat who thinks she should be able to have everything she wants. Life isn’t like that isn’t for anyone of us. Too bad the one thing a famous tennis star hasn’t learned is humility and I’m sick and tired of celebrities who make it all about them. Their psycho drama is more than I can stand.

I don’t buy this idea that a woman can’t have a career and a family. Ignoring flexible working for a second, If a woman wants to be a primary provider they can pick a partner who is willing to be a caregiver. Do you know how many men would take up the offer of not working, playing Xbox all day and looking after a kid? Tens of millions. The only problem is women don’t seem to want those men.. women with careers tend to seek out men with equal or greater careers. Of note, this is nothing on Serena - she is fantastic.
