I would pose this question to these people. There are many medical treatments and drugs that base their applications and dosages on the sex of the patient. If you had a life threatening disease, and needed one of those treatments or drugs, what would you check off on your examination papers?

So, when Matt hears this one person mention their newborn's sex was unlisted because the kid doesn't know their gender, that parent conflated the two concepts as one. It might seem like a gotcha moment to you, but Matt was taking their strongest argument and flipped it over with ease.

@@thejuniorseas7683 no he wasn't steelmanning their argument... the government form conflate gender and sex together so they were simply doing their best given the limitations of the form as so many people do with a variety of government forms and he was trying to use the limitations of the governments form against them in a "gotcha moment". It's not like they wrote the government form... no they didn't but his question presupposes that they agreed with the government conflating both in their form that has virtually been unchanged for over a half a century.

@@famvids9627 A birth certificate doesn't say gender, it says sex. As in the biological sex of the child. If the child was born with male genitalia, the form should read "male". Again, the parent is conflating the two, not government that you so believe.

There are specific reason why government forms ask for the sex of an individual for identification purposes (reduces possibility of mixing up babies in the hospital by 50% for instance) and medical treatments which requires knowledge of how a patient will respond to treatment due to the differing responses of the cellular mechanisms and chemistry which are inherently different between the two sexes. This is not opinion, it is biological reality based on genetics and molecular biology. Gender stems from this biological reality unless there are underlying psychological issues driving it. Anyone of age who chooses any gender which does not match their biological sex is welcome to do so, but must also be capable of recognizing the lifetime of medical debt and psychological confusion that accompanies that choice. They should also recognize no one else should be coerced to enable such a choice by contorting their language, or allowing them to use restrooms and dressing rooms that don’t match their birth sex and thereby make others using that room uncomfortable or put themselves at physical risk. Neither should they be allowed to use their birth sex for advantage in sporting events by pretending they are a different sex than they were born. Parents should not be permitted to give medical permission for their child to be given surgery or hormones for the purpose of changing their sex prior to them turning 18 years old, at which point the child can make their own decisions. This should hold except for the approximately one in 10,000 people who actually have genetic abnormalities in their sex chromosomes which cause physical problems that need to be medically addressed after proper genetic diagnosis. Teachers should not address this issue at all with any child in their care.

It is very telling that Matt Walsh who got virtually zero support from the audience (I think I heard one person start clapping after he made a point but immediately stopped) is the one who is saying Dr. Phil and his staff were very fair, and the other side who had so much support (clapping after everything they said) are saying how triggering the show was, and how they were made to look bad

If someone does start standing up against them and making good points here like Matt Walsh did, then instead of defending their indefensible and nonsensical position as they know they have no ground to stand on, they just deflect and rebut sound points with "Why do you care so much? It's not a big deal." It frames their opposition as the aggressor. It's a classic tactic of crying out in pain at you while they strike you.

@@tyc6268 your definition is incorrect. People do not just have xx or yx chromosomes. There are over 140 million people in the world who are intersex and express themselves as either men or women. There are women who were born with some male characteristics according to their chromosomal makeup who express themselves as women. Obviously you didn't take a basic biology course but yet you are the person, the gate keeper, who is in charge of defining who is and who isn't a woman. Thank God our fate doesn't rest in your hands and you are not the person who makes that final determination. There was a time when your definition was used and intersex people were forced into expressing themselves according to some arbitrary definition that people such as yourself determined. This resulted in millions of forced surgeries of intersex people, forcing them at birth into some arbitrary gender that people like you decided based upon what you thought they most closely aligned with... the suffering was immense. Now, society is more compassionate and informed. We no longer force people into a gender but allow the person to make this decision for themselves. I would rather people have the freedom to choose rather than being compelled to fit some sort of arbitrary ideal that you have decided.

Sometimes people are born with deformed reproductive organs, they still only either produce eggs or sperm. There’s never been a human that produces both. Obviously you don’t know the difference between objective truth and public consensus. Maybe you should’ve taken a basic biology course. Was that whole paragraph just you showing that you can’t tell the difference between sex and gender again? Gender is arbitrary and based on personal whim. Sex on the other hand has everything to do with the organ and chromosomes you were born with (deformed or not). I would rather people have the freedom to choose too but you don’t have the right to choose to be ignorant and also choose to push that ignorance on me. What you choose to do with your body will never change your chromosomes. That is a scientific fact.

Ah yes the parent of a 4 year old who has been denied the dignity of having their biological sex isn't going to dignify "ridiculous" questions with an answer. Yes! You are aware that parents are not just allowing but praising their “Trans” children, you know, anywhere from 4-8 years old, for claiming gender dysphoria and wanting to start taking certain drugs that inhibit the normal processes of development in order to prepare them to become the opposite sex. These drugs are very harmful and will screw up their bodies for life. This is very real and it’s all over the place. We all need to take a stand against this demonic movement before it’s too late.

If you were asked to pick out the audience member who had a "genderless child" every person would have guessed her.

I'm angry at Dr. Phil, and feel strongly he sold out, allowing more time and speakers for gender benders, giving them the last word towards the end of the show. Dr. Phil usually will call a spade a spade, obviously held back his opinions that the gender benders were delusional, which he has to know as a licensed clinical psychologist. Now some will say he held back to referee the discussion, but towards the end Dr. Phil made a short summary that social construction of gender will continue to cause debate---A hint that gender benders will continue to come on his show in the future to attract ratings. He all but gave his tacit approval of the behavior to protect his wallet and appease his Woke Hollywood masters.

@@famvids9627 I've seen your replies on numerous comments in this video. If anyone is ideologically driven in their rationale, it's you. You reject readily observable scientific evidence like sex characteristics, in favor of emotions and subjective perception determining whether a man is a man or a woman. How can someone possess so tenuous a grasp on the world they live in? It's honestly pitiable.

This all feels like a frog in a pot of boiling water. First they said, “Of course sex and gender are different. Sex is biological.” Now, they are blurring the lines between the two, saying that sex should be listed as “unknown” until the child makes a choice. And the children can change their minds as many times as they want anyway. Addison kept saying that this topic is so complex and confusing. I don’t think it’s confusing. It’s not consistent.

It really is inconsistent. But keep in mind that if Gender Identity Politics did not make claims like "Gender is a social construct" and bring social issues into play, and instead stuck to basic biology, they would not be able to push this agenda. Their goal, ultimately, is to redesign our society, which they reaslize is something they can do. What they cannot do is redesign basic biology.

Matt brought up a really good point right at the end of this clip - they bounce between gender and sex in an attempt to confuse the topic, there is no consistence and it literally changes depending on who you are talking to because one will say gender is fluid while the other says sex yet they are talking about the same thing. But then they will be the first to say " you are confusing A with B" or " I am taking about A, not B" to try and prove you wrong. When they use that double-talk and constantly change terms, it is them trying to rig the fight so anytime you counter what they say, they can say you are not talking about the right thing.

Exactly. A very important rhetorical tool is to recognize whether you’re talking to an honest person or not. Not everyone or every interaction is all about open discourse and discussion and debate. Many are only interested in manipulating others.

Sex and gender have always been references to different things. The only thing that’s changed is how the term “gender” is used in a Sociological context. But it has never been entirely synonymous with sex grammatically. Practically everyone acknowledges sex as biological and set in stone, so Conservatives like Walsh aren’t making any slam dunks when they act like their opponents don’t admit even that. Secondly, defining a gender (reflected in Addison’s reluctance to do so) is like trying to make a single definition for a concept as abstract as Justice or Knowledge. People who have been commenting on this debate from the Right-wing position typically saw this as a weakness on their part, except it was actually a very consistent response, because they weren’t going to capitulate to Matt’s absurd and easily contestable definition, and precisely because they were not going to reduce a gender identity into nothing more than mere stereotypes.

Sex is a biological reality, and gender has _always_ been the _conceptual equivalent_ of that reality. 'Masculine' is derived from 'male' and 'feminine' is derived from 'female'. You have no legitimate evidence whatever to the contrary. What you _do_ have is a desire to _believe_ the contrary combined with a lack of honesty, which allows you to dispense with reality in order to maintain your beliefs, rather than vice versa.

@@keatsiannightingale2025 Justice, knowledge and gender are concepts that we can define and we know what they mean. Gender is fluid, there is a spectrum with femininity on one end and masculinity on the other, but that is still connected to biological sex. Trans activists want to completely sever gender from sex so that it can mean anything to anyone. For instance, a biological man identifies as a woman but can't define what a woman is. So what does he mean when he calls himself a "woman" then? Is the rest of society supposed to play along with this silly game? We all know that a woman is an adult human female, i.e. a human with XX chromosomes.

They've removed all the clips from KZread, the Dr. Phil website and Hulu.

That classifies as child abuse to me. I just would've assumed Matt would've been prepared for that and had it set up an agreed upon that he could bring in some of his people to record if they wanted to use him on their show. Not only for the rights to post that himself but for protection too.

It's ironic what questions these people "won't dignify with an answer" because they feel the premise is ridiculous, but dignify straightforward questions about an equally ridiculous premise with straightforward, yet equally ridiculous, responses. "Normies" don't have the luxury of "not dignifying questions with an answer" if we find the premise ridiculous because that makes us some kind of "phobe" or a bigot.

Also when she said that her child goes by the pronoun "him" , "everybody is a him" but then she kept referring to "him" as "they". She wont accept the "him" because it's not what she wants, too normal. Watch it again you'll see she doesn't even respect her own way of thinking.

Yes should be labeled as child abuse.. hard to imagine the amount of therapy the child would need to extinguish inevitable future anger towards the parent. Imagine the insecurity of not being shown the minimal safe boundaries of life in society, while being burdened with responsibility of making all the choices.

This situation shows conservative values are getting some traction in the culture war. From Matt Walsh getting an invite to Dr Phil, to the actual airing the show (instead of shelving it like they did Blair Whites interview) to the way clips from the debate were shared all over social media, I feel hope for our society ❤️

That poor 'genderless' child! Does that child have a father? Will she ask the child what species he wants to be? I wanted to be a bird when I grew up when I was a kid. My mom played along until she realized that I was going to jump out of our apartment window because I thought I could fly.

Also i want to see a non binary person who didn't hear of the existence of this condition from someone else. I want to see a boy, happy, healthy and satisfied with their life throw away their health and social condition to be regarded as a zoo animal. Narcissists.

Bingo. It’s long past time to call out this crap for what it is. I heard Carl Benjamin put it well recently. He said how starting off an interaction by listing pronouns is an act of wielding power over another as though to say: “You will address me in the manner in which I approve. I set the terms here.” It’s akin to how a nobleman of old would make the lowly plebs tip their cap to him as he passed by and refer to him as “my liege” or “my lord” etc. It’s a way of establishing rank. Also, it’s basically says that your faculty of reason, your ability to make observations and assessments of the world around you is either faulty or is not allowed. I will inform you of what your senses are incapable. And, I will also intentionally over share about my personal life and if that makes you uncomfortable, that’s your problem and you have to just deal with it because, again, I set the terms here and you just have to conform to them.

Matt Walsh handles the situation so respectfully and polite. He has a different opinion and he makes that clear but he also carries that opinion with the utmost respect in order to understand other people's ideas and to debate the topic. It's funny because I can't imagine any other way a Conservative Christian with Matt's opinions could present his opinions in any nicer of a way. It's something to think about, these people say they were triggered and made to look bad however I would love to ask them how else would you like Matt to ask you these questions how else would you like Christian conservatives that don't agree with you and what you are teaching children and what you are saying is reality? This is literally the only way Matt or other people could possibly talk about these subjects without being aggressive. It is usually the left that becomes aggressive immediately however just like in this case they are always the first people to claim victimhood. They always talk about being tolerant to everyone's lifestyles and feelings but the moment a Christian conservative comes along then those ideas of being tolerant and welcoming go out the window

Actually he doesn't have a different opinion. He's fighting against them trying to make an opinion factual, and fantasy a reality. He's not of the OPINION that the your gender is connected to your biological makeup it is a fact. They are trying to separate the two but at the same time connect the two which makes no sense.

I don't usually watch Dr. Phil. I've not watched it in YEARS. when I saw the commercial for this I had to record it and watch it. It was awesome!

Matt Welsh you're a hero for standing up for the truth

I would love to see Dr. Phil have an actual woman or actual feminist on his show (opposing the ladydix and enbies) since they are the ones who've been the most vocal and consistent against the trance movement for decades. Of course they'll only ever allow conservatives as the oppositional voice, particularly men. That's because they know how bad it looks to have men vs women arguing about ~womens~ rights and ~womens~ spaces. It's too obvious. That said, what Matt said was the truth and I'm glad he said it and continues to say it. I'm thankful this is at long last becoming a more mainstream issue, because now it's only a matter of time before the whole house of cards comes falling down. The more people who see this and realize it for what it is, how absolutely batshit crazy it is, it surely can't last too much longer.

i was just thinking about this, because it seems like there are heavily edited parts of matt’s talking points. things seem to abruptly cut off.

There was a kid being raised gender less in the school i worked in this year. We had to tip toe around alot with communication to this kid. So glad the school year is over, I still technically don't know if it was a girl or boy. Couldn't ask or we would get in "trouble"

I watch the show over and over well the clips of the show. Sir you were excellent on your definition you couldn’t make it any clearer.

It's really sad because some people like Buck Angel, Blaire White, Rose of Dawn, Debbie Haydon -- all suffer from gender dysphoria which is a debilitating mental health condition where you are uncomfortable with your body (beyond the typical teenage angst). Most people grow past it, some never do and they transition in order to ease their suffering. These 'trans-activists' do SUCH a disservice to real transexuals who struggle so much, for whome gender ideology is not entertaining and there's no pride for them in being a trans person. Debbie Haydon, a transexual woman from the UK went viral for wearing a T-shirt saying 'trans-women are men'. Please check out any of the above mentioned people and you will find that transgender people are not crazy - but unfortunately they ARE a super minority within the 'transgender' community.

You would probably find that most of them are just trying to live their lives instead of being activists to push an “agenda” that really doesn’t have anything to do with them.
