When I was a kid I used to play with my beloved Squirtle only, so I ended up being the champion with a lvl 100 Blastoise and some lvl 10 HM-useful pokemons. I remember the "if you can beat the league 50 times you can then build your own gym in " elementary school myth, and I did that with that precise team. I deserved that gym. Love to see chaotic old school pokémon players. This video is already my favourite DankUniverse™️ one

Fwiw, Slash in pkmn Blue always crits because it was coded wrong. So slash is actually incredibly strong xD

Slash is actually coded right in RBY. The reason as to why it always crits is because RBY is the only generation where the mon's base speed affects its critical rate. This means that pokemon with a high base speed like Persian (115) or Borklord (100) pretty much have a 140 bp move to hit things with, as they have a 99.6% chance for the move to crit. Pretty cool

seeing the pkmn stadium border frame threw me back to scykoh's glitch quest. thank you for continuing his legacy of zany commentary.

Probably the best Pokemon play through ever.

Its funny, this is being presented as a special run (which is it, thanks to the early charizard grind) but as a kid who didn't have the concept of "keep a well balanced team" who only ever used his starter, this is how the game looks normally. if you never swap your Pokemon around your one and only used mon will level up very fast, becoming a powerhouse, at least until you run into a obstacle that CAN take it out, then you got to play the revive shuffle, where you send out sacrifices to get one kit KOed while you use items to get your main mon back up. my wake up call was the final gym in pokemon saphire, the forced double battle one. (the lesson kid me learned was level TWO mons, lol)

Can't belive this was boiled down to 30 mins! So glad to be a Floatie 😊!

This was almost at good as watching the Detroit Lions beat the Buccaneers tonight.

fun fact! the reason slash missed ~3 times is because of an oversight in the code called the 1/256 glitch where "100% accurate" moves roll a number from 256 and if it rolls 256, it misses because it takes numbers less than 256 and not less than or equal to 256 so 100% accurate moves are actually about 99.7% accurate
