THE GLASS HOUSE made of 500k Embalming Fluid Bottles | Boswell Bottle House

The Glass House, built by David H. Brown, is located on the east shore of Kootenay Lake in British Columbia near the rural locality of Boswell, British Columbia. Built in 1952, it is constructed of approximately 500,000 empty embalming fluid bottles, which would have otherwise been discarded as waste.

I'm so glad you went and did a whole episode about this!! I was wondering what the backstory was and what the inside would look like!! Very cool construction and those views of the lake are pretty amazing!!!

I love any place where someone comes up with a dream and then makes it happen! Doesn't matter if it's a concrete dinosaur or a bottle house, I just love the idea that there was a time when you could do anything you set out to do.

Glad you chose to do a video on it but please be accurate. Don't say 600,000 when 500,000 even in approximate is used in print. I was last there 40 years ago. My Dad, when a teenager, helped clear the land for it.

Thanks for the correction. Six hundred videos in the odd mistake slips through, but I can always count on the Internet to keep me honest :)

@@ExitThrutheGiftShop Subscribed! The Johnsons I personally knew are probably all passed now. I can't remember Eldon's kids names. Now if you could do one on Crayford, Kent. UK that would be great.
