For me the script of 'The Glass Castle' isn't that great to be honest, but just clung onto my interest. However, I thought that the characterisation was wonderful: the depiction of emotional bullying and its effects on the children were very real and intense. I don't think it'll appeal to a particularly wide audience, but I found it worth the effort. 3/5
Looks like this is the first of this year's Films That Had Awards Buzz Until Anyone Saw Them
Glassle
Brie Larson and Naomi Watts both great actresses
Read the book in school, thought it was fantastic and incredibly deep. But the film decides that the compelling themes weren’t the drawl, but the whimsy of moving around was more interesting(except the film has no actual idea of how to do whimsy), and it becomes a real forgettable film for it
