"you don't deserve a septum piercing" is one of the wildest insults ive heard in a while
@forevercurious1966
4 ай бұрын
Think the piercing guy owed an apology here-fairly certain he is security staff for the building not the event -he isn't responsible for organsing the Willy McDuff chocolate scam experience -just a guy that turned up for work to look after the building -longer video clip shows him stating how peeved he is to have camera in face when he has nothing to do with the company responsible for organising and delivering the event .Guy on the left is the event organiser/con artist.

A local library would probably be able to host a Willy Wonka themed event for like a $20 reservation fee that includes snacks and crafts. The library staff would probably dress up and be able to decorate a space with more cohesive theming. They'd be able to interact with kids and provide engaging activites to promote interest in reading through whimsy because of their experience running events on short budgets. I love libraries because I grew up going to themed reading events and I'd take my nephew all the time. Moral of the story is that there are places and people who are genuinely invested in providing quality enrichment to children. Support your local libraries and community events. EDIT: Libraries do offer free events all the time, but sometimes funding for crafts and snacks requires a little more help.

Hey Cooper, just here to clarify, “Snegurocka”, the Russian folklore character who goes together with the Russian version of Santa is actually his granddaughter and she is not supposed to be portrayed by a man, usually she is played by a woman and acts like a communicator between Santa and the kids. Snegurocka and kids call for Santa together and then he comes and gives children their gifts and shit. The video you saw was just some guys goofin’ around after probably a couple dozens shots of vodka. Your pronunciation tho… marvelous. Seriously, is was REALLY good

I said this elsewhere but the thing that makes this situation even wilder is that we already have an attraction that's like Wonka's factory irl in the UK called Cadbury world. It's literally like walking into the factory with it being a whimsical tour of the history of chocolate and how its made. They also give you a shit ton of free chocolate throughout including one area that has a holographic show that gives you a cup of melted chocolate that you can add sprinkles and other things to it if you want. There's also a log flume ride you can go on that I was terrified of as a kid but I went on it when I was slightly older and it was a fun ride. I'm not sure how accurate my recollection is as I was young when I last went but I highly recommend visiting it if you're ever in Birmingham 😊

I truly hate that AI is this wide spread and hate how people have accepted it like it shows how corporations are taking worse cheap short cuts so hopefully they get your money it truly shows how little these corporations care about their customers and especially artists of any kind Also I just hope that not a lot of people use AI to get credit or money it’s just yucky and that people don’t depend on it for creativity (I have a couple friends that use a lot but also they’re computer nerds) hopefully this will be a trend that dies out or makes an artist revolution THAT would be epic!

there are so many amazing uses for AI to aid humans in their creativity (and i count programmers/computer nerds amongst us creatives, idk why* i just admire them and everything they do), and then there's This. but i'm hoping that discerning people will be able to tell the difference. i know i can lol [edit- i DO know why. it's incredibly creative to work with technology on any level. putting together a circuit board takes artistry. writing good code takes skill and knowledge. etc etc.]

I personally believe a great amount of human experiences include creativity hell I think AI could start a bunch of creative projects for people to finish (though I think just getting an person or artist opinion is better) and technically AI itself is a creative project I just hope people don’t use it for too much bad (it’s kinda inevitable) as while as knowing how to discern the difference (even though it will get harder to tell) Frankly I want people to not accept it as a shortcut pass artists especially companies that can spare the money it’s just offending how many companies are disregarding artists work but maybe that’s a whole another issue or another layer of the issue

To be fair to the parents falling for the misspellings on the poster, nonsense words are very on-brand for not just Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but all of Roald Dahl's ouvre. So, I wouldn't put it past people to see the misspellings as being aesthetic or as a tribute to the book/author and not a result of AI.

this is true, however I feel like there is definitely a line between stylised misspellings and "a pasadise or sweet teats" like it just all feels a little too excessive to be on purpose? idk but I guess slightly older people who are parents may not pick up on that difference between something being done on purpose and something being made with ai and having completely laughable spelling

The idea of an evil candymaker who's trying to steal from Wonka could easily work. I mean heck, in the original story other chocolatiers like Slugworth are trying to steal Wonka's recipies. But to make him a dark robed demonic figure with a metal mask called The UNKNOWN who lives in the walls is a step too far. I don't know what prompts the guy behind this fed the AI, but how it created such a daft idea is beyond me. Maybe they could make The Unknown a villain in a second Wonka movie. Who knows?

Me and my mum were crying with laughter over this… one of the cast members literally said… “I give off major Oompa Loompa energy but not like a good Oompa Loompa, like one that’s at the back during the dance numbers like falling over like your aunt at a line dancing class on holiday.” Fucking crying! I’m Scottish so the stuff people were saying was literally cracking me up 😂
Of all the notable things Glasgow has done, this is what puts us on the map

😂 True... Glasgow is so underrated. We got it all and then some! It is funny though. How this guy thought he was going to get away with disappointing Glesga weans I don't know. Either very brave or very stupid. He's lucky it was the police called and not an ambulance.
Don't forget about the "lemonade room" where they handed out half-filled plastic cups of cheap lemonade!

Maybe you could make a Willy-Wonka like character as a nod to this historical event?
Oh man this is wild. I just watched an interview with the guy who played “Willy” at the event. He said at one point after 3 hours he was told to take a break. He went outside and “stared into space and questioned all my life choices” 😅
Honestly, my depression has been pretty intense recently and I haven't smiled or laughed a lot.... But seeing this video really made me crack up! I adore you, your take on things and the topics you report on🎉 Thank you for this gem 💎
I was ridiculously distracted by your earring the entire video because I have the same one and now I am hyper aware of the fact that I don’t know where it is

Maybe 'the unknown' in your walls took it,mischievously left it for cooper to discover,in the hopes he'd wear it in the vid to 'unknowingly' taunt you..he is the 'evil' unknown after all
As someone from Scotland. This is honestly funny but not entirely suprising to me lol. Love how this is the one thing that makes Glasgow go viral. Seeing Glasgow viral in the first place makes me happy.
Honestly if I as a parent saw that advertisement and decided to spend my money on tickets, I would be CRYING from laughter when I saw the out come. I would take so many photos just because come ON. YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS UP LMAO.
Eventually it was ONE jelly bean a kid and a fourth a cup of lemon aid, they had NO chocolate.

Im watching this in my bedroom where my grandma also sleeps and i wheezed so LOUD at the princess diana comment and the little "nOo" from the child when the UNKNOWN showed up
I feel especially bad for the actors because not only are they now attached to a dud production, but they tried their very best to make it at least sort of enjoyable and failed miserably, for no fault of their own.
As someone who lives in Scotland, this isn't the craziest occurrence.
Worth pointing out that the dude who played Willy Wonka, portrayed as some wholesome hero, was exposed as a literal gr00mer by his ex… that he met when he was a teacher at her school (he was 22 she was 16)

11:00 Scottish translation (roughly) She's says she's gonna call the cops he says well we aren't a company so you CANT get a refund she said oh so is that why you've got fake pictures of employees so you're fake he said no we aren't (Thought I'd clear it up a lil since Cooper thought he was giving a refund also I'm Scottish haha)
Thank you for saying Glasgow right. Much appreciated. I do want to say about the parents. I don't know what advertising they saw honestly and many maybe just heard their bairns mention it so bought tickets online. I should also say this guy is a well known scammer and has done other dodgy stuff before. The actors 100% should be praised and I feel so bad for the wee ones. I hope someone with the actual means to do a great Wonka show steps in and makes one and offeres all those who got screwed over free tickets to go to that one.
As someone who is from glasgow, seeing how viral this went is ✨ phenomenal
The guy at the door is a hired door man that wasn’t involved at all in planning, the guy behind was and he done the same thing at a santas grotto in 2021 and he self published 17 AI written books on Amazon last year, you don’t deserve a septum piercing was funny but the security guard really didn’t do shit ( apart from apparently having to turn crying weans away at the door)
They LITERALLY made Krabby Land from Spongebob! 😂
As a Glaswegian it is so weird seeing this go so insanely viral. I feel like Glasgow just does not exist to the rest of the world lol
COOPER THAT DANCE WITH MICHEAL JACKSON WAS SO INSPIRATIONAL
Now we just need someone like Mr Beast to come in and make the real thing for them. And turn it into a charity event.
I don’t know what men are dressing up as Santa granddaughter, but usually snigurachka is a woman 😂
SO glad you covered this, it's bringing Glasgow together right now
Imagine being the poor kids that were taken here by their parents, and maybe they were excited - maybe. And then they get here and have to pretend they aren't extremely disappointed

I live right round the corner from where this took place and when I tell you people are OBSESSED with this whole thing….. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I CANNOT with this!!!! This just screams “When yer Maw is a junkie and says she’s making Sunday dinner and she’s actually cooking Meth and gies yeh 3 jellybeans instead”…… “who is the unknown?” Just yer typical Glasgow Dad who doesn’t want to pay Child Support - and now lives with the neighbour so the bit about living in the walls is technically true.

The "typical Glasgow dad who doesn't want to pay child support" absolutely killed me. Some concepts are universal apparently lol
Well I've got to admit, I am truly catgacated by this whole event.
This entire thing feels like a fever dream. That little dance at the end just added to it.
I think the "unknown" could be based on Slugworth who tries to have Charlie steal secrets from the chocolate factory for him. There's a scene of charlie walking home and slugworth pops out from behind a wall. As a kid, I couldn't really understand that he was around a corner and not inside a compartment or something, maybe the AI thinks like my child brain
@JenLyn78

That's what I thought too. That possibly the unknown was based on Slugworths character.
I am pretty sure this was a social experiment to see how good ai could plan something. They are toying with it. Expect to see more AI events.
THEY GAVE HER THE SCRIPT THE NIGHT BEFORE!?!?!? *THEY GAVE HER THE SCRIPT THE NIGHT BEFORE??!?!?!?!* As an actor, wtf💀
Holy moly bros almost at 1mil?!??! Been here since around 5k 😦 Congratulations cooper you deserve it ur a great ytber one of my favorites that’s for sure!!
Btw the guy playing Willy wonka has been called out as a predator and groomer, he is called Paul Connell and he allegedly groomed one of his 16 yr old students into a relationship when he was 22.

In scotland the age of consent is 16. Its like dating an 18 year old girl as a 24 year old guy in the U.S. "Allegedly" means nothing in this case.

@@patriktoth6258 I’d also like to add that by justifying this behaviour based on the individual law of consent in that country is really disgusting. Do you think it’s ok for an adult to have sexual relations with a 13 year old just because it is legal in some countries?

@@grifff76 16 is not 13. Do you think is it good that have intimacy for a 18 year old with a 65 year old men? It's the same question. Once again. This "allegedly" with no literal proof means nothing nowadays.

In all fairness to the parents, I’ve heard that scammers deliberately put spelling errors and typos in their emails etc because they WANT to weed out people who are too intelligent to fall for the scam. This seems to fall under that category - even though the spelling errors weren’t deliberate, we’ve got to remember that a very large chunk of the population aren’t 100% literate. They can read, but not well, and definitely can’t spell perfectly. So they wouldn’t necessarily have noticed there was anything wrong with the posters.
The oompa lady pictures actually have me WHEEZING

I first hear about this situation from a girl coming out and talking about how the actor that played Willy was her ex boyfriend/ teacher and groomed her.
