Jill was a class act,a damn good actress.

Of course, it doesn't seem much now, but the GT was broadcast at the weekend, and at the time being allowed to stay up late and watch it as a kid was quite exciting !

I've just started working my way through the great series, the theme has always stuck with me since I was a kid.

IKR, it precedes every episode of the GT on the DVD collection.

That start takes me back.

After The Gentle Touch , Jill went on to appear in C.A.T.S. EYES which was basically a GT spin-off, although apart from Jill herself, Bernard Holley who had played her colleague/lover was the only other character to step over from the GT. An interesting piece of casting was Don Warrington as Jill's boss, he had previously appeared in "RISING DAMP".

Ordered the complete box set last night from Network on Air! Cannot wait!

It does, now you mention it. It was composed by Ron Grainer who also did the themes for DOCTOR WHO and TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED.
