Ik heb vroeger met Anneke op de agrarische school in Schijndel gezeten begin 90. Nooit geweten dat zij hierna een beroemde zangeres was geworden met deze band.

Its a damn shame they weren't (aren't) appreciated in the U.S. No wonder they hardly toured here. However I saw Anneke with Amorphis last year (2019) and everyone at the show loved her and The Gathering when she asked if we'd like to hear a song by the band.

It is remarkable that in the Netherlands the artistry of this group with Anneke as singer has remained underexposed, while in other parts of the world their authenticity has been fully recognized. This is due to the narrow-mindedness of labelling their music as 'metal' in The Netherlands. It is more than that. Good music is good music.

Ze zegt zelf dat ze de Bekende status de kop ingedrukt hebben, zodat ze bijvoorbeeld gewoon naar de bakker kon zonder overladen te worden door mensen.. ze was/is tevreden met hoe het is/gegaan toch.

As a kind of advocatus diaboli I have to admit that they have some talented musicians in the US :) And still if you compare local, e.g. European, biebers to the original, it's still not that talentless in this context.
