I never miss a chance to listen to Gareth Russell - such a knowledgeable and fascinating historian. I loved his book about Catherine Howard - in fact I have already read it twice and just today I was looking at it thinking I might read it again. Thank you for this - I have just discovered your podcast and am enjoying going through all your videos.

Cheers to two awesome Gareths! :) "Young & Damned & Fair" is one of the most amazing & fascinating history books I've ever read! I've always liked Katherine- for no "logical" reason, as I knew very little about her, but partly because I've always been annoyed by virtually everything people say about her, especially the victim-blaming: I did some pretty silly things at that age. It also sounded like she was being pushed into simplistic narratives, but I didn't know if "simplistic" was just my opinion (I very much agree that you have to acknowledge personal bias!) I was amazed & delighted to find that there *are* some facts that kick holes in these one-dimensional conceptions of her, & show us something of a *real* girl- & even better, not quite the girl I was expecting! I've recommended it to loads of people :) The Tudor sisters being united against the Grey sisters is such an interesting idea, & a great example of hindsight warping our view.

I would love to see a book that goes into depth about the final months of Mary 1st reign and the subsequent crowning of Elizabeth.

As an American, the only "Gareth" I ever came in contact with was the Goblin King. I'm so glad to have that remedied so well.

I wanna talk to Gareth too. He's so knowledgeable about Catherine. My main questions to him are about Henry's MANY gifts to her as his queen and his alleged nickname for her, his "rose without a thorn".
