So happy I came across this! Some of my favorite historians! My Grandfather’s sister (My great aunt Mary) and her husband (Great Uncle Norman) established a very prominent, boys private school in England and my uncle was Headmaster there. My family is originally from Northampton. I am however from the USA. I have a very cherished photo that was passed on to me of my Great Aunt shaking the Queen Mothers hand along with her husband when they either went to visit or the Queen Mother came to visit the school. My family said the Queen Mother was a absolutely lovely, down to earth lady! ❤

Listening to how entitled and tone deaf Edward VIII was, it reminds me of Charles. He's *so* like him. 32:40 "Prince Andrew's the last Hanoverian. Incredibly unlikable, heavy jowled, just an objectionable human being....lumbering catastrophe both morally and socially". OH MY GOSH! Just so beautifully put I had to rewind and listen to it again...a good couple of times. Beautiful! Sharply precise description of him. Yaaasss! Henry was an absolute monster! I wish I could like this video multiple times. 1:09:35. Holy Cow! What? He did not! Oh my gosh. I knew Edward was a horrid person, but I didn't realize quite how much he supported the Nazi agenda. I'm horrified.

Love this KZread , recommended by Kat on reading the past. However sorry but the feedback or whatever it is called on the microphones made it difficult to catch what was being said except blessedly on Gareth and he was really clear and really interesting. Not that you aren’t all interesting. Also having that banner scrolling across the bottom of the screen for an hour and a half was a tad irritating. But enjoyed the Arthur and Katherine video and now going on to watch the next in order so not in the least put off. Good luck with HAD.

"Tommy's good for a scorcher" and "lumbering catastrophe." Thank goodness Gareth is a writer, otherwise he'd have missed his calling.🤣

What a shame the echo was so bad I couldn’t discern some of the speakers, whole chunks was so distorted due to echo or feedback or some such. So disappointing, could have been brilliant but I had to switch off
