The Gangs of Vancouver, British Columbia Part 2

NOTE: All information presented in this video is based on publicly available information and it is intended to be a general overview of some of Vancouver's gang history.
In this video I cover some of the major gangs and crime figures that have become a part of Vancouver's history. There are hours upon hours of content on this subject out there, and this is just intended to be a general overview without going into too many details. This is also part 2 of a 3 part video series on this subject - I will be posting part 3 in about 2 weeks.
Vancouver is one of Canada's major port cities, and these urban centers have a more complex gang history than other cities in the country.
In this video I cover the following groups:
Sun Yee On Triads
14K Triads
Big Circle Gang/Big Circle Boys
Soccer Club/Chinese Youth
Bak Mei
Lotus Gang
Red Eagles
Star Wars
Ching Tao
Towa Gang
Los Diablos
East Van Saints
Collinwood St. Gang
Cordova St. Gang
Zoot Suit Gangs
Vic Gang
Alma Dukes
Grandview Park Gang
Clark Park Gang/Clark Parkers
There are more groups I didn't cover in this video that I will get to in the Gangs of Vancouver Part 3 video within a couple weeks.
I hope you found this one interesting and informative, and if you'd like to watch more of my content in general please consider subscribing to my channel - I upload at least one new video per week.
Thanks for watching!

Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate when people take the time to comment - the only haunted place I can think of in Red Deer is the old Cronquist House, I featured that in my haunted Alberta video last year. I actually plan on doing a video on Red Deer later this summer. My great-grandfather came in 1898. There have always been gangs, even in the early 1900s. The Chief of Police always lived in a mansion. It wasn't just bribes; people would work for free in case they needed a favor. Late 90s was fun. I was just walking into the club when Bindy was whacked. People ran outside and danced in the streets. My late grandfather employed a young guy who stole from him. He laughed it off and became a father figure to Fats Robertson, the top guy in BC for Montreal. My grandfather was a regular farmer. So I never believed the stories about Fats until it was on Google. He was 70+ when I met him. Regular house, no jewelry etc.

I knew a Chinese guy in high school that was away for like half the school year or more. We were told he had a biking accident and broke his teeth biking. Years later, his close friend told me that it was actually a shooting he was involved in where a rival gang shot him in the face and he somehow didn't die and needed surgery. That's why he was away for that long. If you'll recall, I'm also the guy that told you I lost an innocent friend in the Surrey Six Shootings. The guy was just going out to go play basketball as he saw the killers coming out from a hit and they killed him for being a witness. Thanks to your videos, I've been rediscovering how much of my life has had gang violence on the periphery that I either blanked out or didn't notice until right now.

I was in a DocMovie regarding the kid shot in the theatre on Broadway and Commercial. It was a Hong Kong director and it was released in Hong Kong then used in Lower mainland High Schools for Years to show grade 8’s the dangers of Ganglife. The director wanted kids who could actually Face get so he came too Al Chengs Kickboxing and offered us who trained there Roles. There was also actually Gang members in the Movie too. They basically didn’t speak English.

The Golden Princess theatre (now Rio) shooting. The Golden Princess was the only theatre in Vancouver back then showing Cantonese language movies. The shooting was big news because the Viet Ching gang member got tried as an adult even though he was 16. He got deported at 24 when he finished his sentence. The Lotus kid who got shot lost his eye but lived. Vancouver Asian youth gangs at the time were notorious for older bosses using juveniles to commit murders because of the light sentences if tried as a youth offender. I think the movie you were in was called "Winston joins a gang", and changed the names of the people, and made the story take place at The Ridge theatre, but it was based on the same incident.

Pretty difficult to compare gang activity decades ago to whats going on now. Now Im no choir boy. Ive had my share of unsavory activity. But this opioid epidemic is truly inhumane and out of control. I truly wish humans had a lot more compassion and awareness in their actions. When it comes to money? Its pretty sad many just dont seem to give a fuck about anything else. People are dying man. And they are far beyond being able to make a choice

The problem of housing un-affordability goes back way beyond the recent interest rate hikes in response to inflation.

From what I have seen, the Calabrians are most entrenched here. Vancouver may have been a city like Montreal where the Sicilian and Calabrian factions worked together. business by-law officers and other political officers came to a farm and asked the owner if they could inspect his farm, he thought he must comply to the legal artificial political personnel, so he volunteered to allow them to do their business on his property. for a few years they proceeded to accuse him of things he was doing are wrong, not to their liking and that he should do it the way they wanted, having to buy new things and changing building structures etc... he did everything they wanted. they then ordered him to shut the farm down, he had been running for over 40 yrs, never causing anyone any criminal intent, never causing damage and injury to anyone growing potatoes. so he got very angry at the legal by-law officer, just to act arrogant and totally mean, she said to him; if you had not allowed us on your property we would not have been able to do anything. the whole financial corporate legal civil political system, it's departments and services are businesses, that are only voluntary! is the financial legal corporate system trying to hide that they are a business, that is only voluntary! should any corporation, business, service, have authority to force anything to do business in their "jurisdictional by-law authority" it's codes, rules? mcdonalds,? wendy;s? the corporate health department? the polls department? the lobbying department? licensing department etc... it's president and stock holders? popeye's chicken, it's stock holders? force your children to act as a slave to any corporation, business, service? this is what hitler did, stalin, lenin etc... the birth certificate is a corporate legal business, signed by the corporate registrar general, used as legal jurisdictional authority over any child and it's property, that has one. when any business wants to trick anyone to volunteer to their jurisdictional authority in their business, ask them to put in writing and send it to you. just state you do not want their business service, they may take you to court, before a jury of men and woman, with proof, state why you do not need the business service they offer. creatively remove the understanding(standing under) volunteering, consent into slavery, choose to be creatively free.

Informative, thanks. I know there will always be crime, but allowing groups of criminals to amalgamate and organize is where the authorities should draw the line. Individual criminals commit crimes against individuals of a society, but groups of criminals (gangs) do large crimes against the whole of a society. Through our taxes we fund the authorities to stamp out crime as much as possible, but they are failing in this important task. The results are truely heartbreaking. Drug epidemic resulting in millions of deaths worldwide, 10's of thousands here in Canada. Money laundering and investing in real estate, making homes unaffordable to regular working people. The vast sums of money made from illegal activity funds corruption of our officials, that further enhances the corruption. It is spiralling out of control, and the authorities don't seem to be able to, or are not willing to do anything about it. Eventually, people will get fed up and take matters into their own hands. We would like to elect officials who will implement laws and fund the authorities to go after these criminal organizations, but without results, patients runs thin. Do we need to bring in the Army? What will it take to stop this runanway train crime wave?

The Big Circle (Boys) are the ones in Vancouver. These old cats dont mess around, their the real thing. they lord over the disrespectful Viets. Even the red and white respect them I used to deal with one. in the 80s idiots from the Lotus and Red Eagles gangs, we beat the crap outta them in juvi lmao. The Clark Parkers have been around and far more significant compared to the Kiddy Gangs. The Moody bros are still kicking it. Im 51, i had spent over 5 years in prison before the age of 21.
