Agreed. State Care is a total failure. Pumping out kids at 18yrs, traumatised, full of rage, resentment, self harm issues, eating disorders, behavioural problems etc. She doesn't know what she is talking about.

Interesting discussion, thanks both (and Clodagh behind the scenes). I agree with Niall's approach to this. We can have some compassion for both the lads that get caught up in this as well as their victims. He made some very good points, particularly that two things can be true at once. I also agree with him regarding the police approach to the recent riots. Stay safe, kids.

People should really be educated before having opinions on things this complex. I don't think you understand how powerful the pull of influence and community is. There's no escaping it. its well seen nicola has no kids to say should their kids not be taken, fair play to niall who has kids to point out the trauma that would be inflicted on them, as he says the states does not give a damn about our kids.

It’s not distasteful, it’s illegal. Majority of those bikes are uninsured as they’re not road worthy. Whether it’s culture or not it’s against the law.

@@Nickleboy It’s a funereal procession ffs.Technically people walking on the middle of the street carrying a coffin is illegal as they are holding up traffic.Do you think the Gardai should go in there with riot gear and the water cannon the nordies sent down to suppress the “far right”?That would not end well fwiw.I am a biker (fully taxed,insured and never in trouble with the law in my life) and when one of our own time has come it is often the case where the funeral procession would be followed by a group of friends and family on their bikes who shared good times in the saddle together.There might even be the odd wheelie or burnout which may seem dangerous to people that are not part of that world but is not really to someone that knows what they are doing.Let people send off their own they way they want and the state can take a day off on a persons final journey.Most Gardai know this without been told and will quietly facilitate the procession by going ahead and directing traffic and remaining respectful which is the right thing to do.
