If they cut out Snake Eyes, I won’t be very forgiving. On one hand I understand, but he’s literally one of the most iconic characters of G.I. Joe. To ignore or replace him with his girlfriend is Huge mistake.

Girlboss Scarlett is an absolute no go. Anything under far left Kirkman is an absolute no go.

Reading Scarlett i felt bored, and believe me i didn't want to be. Although i was on the fence about Thompson i gave it a chance. It had moments of action but even those seemed boring. The story attempted to show how close scarlett and jinx were but if she hadn't said stated she saw her as a sister i also would have assumed they had a intimate relationship. That entire part of the story felt like a Kelly Thompson thing, it was definitely Q-ue-er coded. Anyways, after seeing how many Arashikage ninja she took out kind of nerfed the clan and how dangerous they could be or how overpowered GI Joe will be.

Scarlett and jinx aren't in a relationship kelly thompson cleared the air about that on her newsletter. i never got that feeling after reading it anyway I'm hoping snake eyes gets a mini when the scarlett mini is over, I can't wait to read the gi joe series in November getting it as a belated birthday present to myself since it comes out a day later

I hope the ninja stuff is just peppered in and it doesn’t become Snake Eyes and Friends. He’s like the Wolverine of the GI Joe brand

This doesn't look good. Why is Baroness a Joe??? I thought of a much better way to do a Hasbro universe. DDP teamed up the franchises, and it was cool.

During NYCC, DWJ said he thought Bumblebee was the weakest Transformer so he got rid of him pretty quickly. He sort of implied that he didn’t like Bumblebee. So as long as DWJ is on the book Bumblebee is not coming back… maybe only in “flashbacks.”

We've seen Bumblebee and Snake Eyes so many times, I'm glad they're holding them back for a while to let some other characters get the spotlight.

The energon universe has been a breath of fresh air. The writing, the art, just great.

I never read a single G.I Joe or Transformers comic book because I never was close with Hasbro cartoon franchises, in my childhood, but I'm very happy in to see there are life outside Marvel and DC in nowadays. Image new comic lines deserves more love.

Saying Scarlet #1 is a great comic book is the equivalent to saying that a D on a report card is great.

GI Joe ARAH sales easily tripled when it went to Skybound based off the interest level created by Skybound when they got the license. GI Joe ARAH was the only GI Joe title that IDW did that generated any sustainable sales when they had the license. Everything else sold like smoldering dog crap next to it. So the interest was always there, but with the massive new exposure it just hauled a bunch people back in to follow it monthly. WTF20.

The other surprise character could be the autobot Hound making his appearance into the energon universe. They are standing on top of an old army jeep.

They better not fumble this now after a year of great world building. And yes, make it interconnected. Those that don’t want that can go read the Larry Hama run, I hear it’s good. The whole point of an “Energon Universe” is to have all of it connected to create a much larger story.

I'm a Transformers guy and barely knew who any of the G.I.Joe characters where but am getting all of the Energon books because they (for the most part) are good. As far as your question about if someone would be able to read one and the not the other I think it's possible but it's still a bit hard and honestly. For example both the plot of the Duke and Cobra Commander series really got kicked off as a result of the events of the transformers series. This universe has exactly 22 single issue floppies so far and it already feels like people who choose to only read there preferred property are already getting an "incomplete" experience if they don't at least read summaries of the books there not buying. I think this is fine as long as the Energon Universe stays lean. Starting November it will be just the 3 ongoings G.I.Joe, Void Rivals and Transformers. If they keep it to that while occasionally releasing a couple of miniseries here and there I think they'll be fine. But if they expand to much to quickly it'll fail. For example I was loving reading all the spawn books when there were only 4 titles but then todd just kept announcing new ones and I started cutting back until I dropped it entirely. Even household names like X-Men can't get away with it. That said Kirkman has constantly proven he knows what He's doing so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise
