    I've read Flash Gordon. Not knowing anything about the character I felt a bit lost, but it was fun in the end. And turns out there actually was an issue zero, on Free Comic Book Day. I found the pdf on Mad Cave's website.

    I really liked Louise and her dynamic with Logan, that and the vampire/Dracula story was the one I really liked from Ben Percy (also didn't feature or mention Krakoa much for most of it). I would like to have seen that continue and feature Louise more as a companion/love interest. But he gave up on it, and I quickly couldn't stand Krakoa anyway, so I gave up on the Wolverine book along with all the X-Titles. Wolverine Blood Hunt I gave a chance given the regular recommendations and it was great to see the best thing from Ben Percy's run brought back, Logan & Louise paired together fighting vampires (though as with Percy's run, I have no idea when Maverick got his recent personality transplant from who he was in the 90's and 00's). Conan is a great comic adaptation of the character. Just started reading it. Titan is right up there with the best of the Dark Horse ones.

    the whole masked in prison reminds me of what was done in DD in Zsardasky's run, but here you have a giant turtle lol. Since TMNT started as a parody it can make more or less sense here depending on POV.

    Every week, I hope to hear at least one out of the 5 or 6 panelists to shed some light or love on Ryan Norths, Fantastic Four. And every week, it's a broken record of everyone's discontent and anger of the same handful of books, writers, or editors. And its the same on many other channels. Obviously you've done live shows and uploads that try to remain overall positive in theme. But we need more. I know I could view content elsewhere, but I tend to agree with this channels views more often than not. So I don't want to tune out. But of all the books to be enjoyed, whether for the art, the story, or both, it'd be great to see excitement in some aspect. Any aspect! And less pissing, moaning. The discussion I had at Graham Crackers yesterday is what I personally want to see more of on KZread. "What is said publishers best read to you?" We both opened the thought floodgates on Fantastic Four. Both of us, absolutely thrilled! Don't any of you have a title old or new that you could rave about and be excited for?

    It's hard to be enthused all the time. I get accused of being an "aww shucks" Pollyanna sometimes, not too often thank goodness. I'm a lifelong X-Men fan and they bobbled the restart IMHO. A lot of the malaise we feel isn't confined to comicbooks, it's endemic all over the periodical print publication industry. Rolling Stone whether you agree with their one-sided polemics or not have just published their final print magazine. Have you seen the cover price of a daily metropolitan newspaper and then compare that to the cover price of a monthly floppy? I mean have you been reading Scout Comics, take a chance on them and get burned too on really half-hearted art that legitimately looks better on a backlit tablet than printed in ink on paper read with an external light source and to have them bail on books and hear stories of the studio failing their creatives. Just an example. But there remains great books out there. Like Nadler and Cha's THE SICKNESS. No one's reading that but a select few. Or Jeff Lemire's FISHFLIES. It's amazing. Or G. Willow Wilson's POISON IVY which is really good especially for the Alan Moore SWAMP THING fans. It's just hard to be enthused all the time without faking it. And thank you so much for tuning in and contributing to this conversation.

    there's still plenty to be happy about. I admittedly have some real personal things going on which may be effecting my usual sunny disposition of which I don't want to talk about on-air. But we are lucky to have so many good titles to be thrilled about. There are a lot of floppies out there and if we took the same idea of a baseball hitter, a good percentage is 3 out of every 10 are at least a base hit. Cheers and thanks for tuning in. It's always fun.

    I love that Jim Zub's Conan run is long-term and planned out. That's the best currently published series from any company. And it was heartening that he is willing to talk to Sparrow. I get the feeling Sparrow's ideology could be described as "politically reasonable" but, unfortunately, we're in a Mark Waid type environment where pros have to disassociate from anyone who isn't "foaming at the mouth marxist ideologue." It shouldn't be like this, it made me happy Zub will still talk to us. I just want everyone to be able to talk again. Great stream as always! Cheers, gentlemen! 🍻

    47:10 For artist tracing. I am also against this but do wish to know how much time Marvel gives the artist before deadline. Marvel should delay the comic if the artist still working on it or something has come up take the artist time. At least we all have a mutual agreement. *The writing from Jackson and Lazing is atrocious.* You guys would say the way how Deniz Camp wrote Midas is Deniz Camp’s activist fetish, which I still disagree with all you, as I say before, Camp was going for Idealism vs Cynicism viewpoints. Midas was antagonizing Captain America and Midas gloats about it. Ultimate issue 2 didn’t make it one sided it. I can understand that. I did read Grant Morrison’s Marvel Boy too. Midas’ personality is consistent. But *Jackson and Lanzing writing in NYX is 100% their activist fetishes.* 49:01 His name is Prodigy, his a male, and he is bisexual. Prodigy exists since 2003. MVP describe of Jackson and Lazing’s writing at best. Just Buzzword after Buzzword. There is no meaning to it. And it gets worst when Sophie Cuckoo flips the tables on Prodigy and She say he is the oppressor. The comic validates as Sophie a girl boss. Yes this NYX comic validates a White Karen talking down on Bisexual Black Man who is her teacher. So progressive Jackson and Lazing, You tools. Including at the end, Empath said to Julian(Who is the Krakoan) you name yourself after Emma’s frost team, *So Thirsty* Julian was like 16 years old when decide that name Hellion. He go by that name so can live all of the expectations of Emma frost. Julian Keller was Emma Frost’ True Protege. Not Kitty Pryde. God Julian deserves better writers not Jackson and Lanzing. Also the inconsistency. Sophie said she knew Prodigy since Westchester. That is in incorrect. *Sophie died before Prodigy joins Xavier school.* They never meet. Prodigy only meet the other Cuckoos It literally proves interview that Jackson and Lanzing had with Aipt shows they are fake fans, everything they said to the interviewer Jackson and Lanzing has contradicted themselves. And Jackson and Lanzing does not have any passion yet they keep getting work and gaslighting new readers. It is frustrating. Leadership is so incompetent. And Dok, you and Wes actual made a review on NYX? I didn’t you guys gonna do it. I mean this first I heard Dok even mentioned Utopia. 55:27 *You need Ellliot Boggs aka the Magician. He literally has the power to make that happen.* I would say Franklin reed but Dan sloth retcon him to be not mutant. 57:20 Really? Kaare Andrews was on comics Aficionados and he didn’t get in trouble. He still writing Spider Man 2 Regin. He is still drawing variant covers. I am happy I get to ask Kaare Andrews questions. We now know his Amazing Fantasy is not Weirdworld. Is that why we cannot have Dan Abnett on Comic Aficionados? I really want to talk to Dan Abnett. I gonna be open minded to next x men comics so I can give fair criticism. Geoffrey Throne’s X Force is next . I don’t know what is gonna happen in the future, but Thank god, Surge is not in NYX. Geoffrey did say Surge has never killed anyone. That is true. He got that right. I would know I am a fan of Surge. I am little hopeful but I am keeping my expectations low. 1:04:00 This is why I continued to stick with Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X Men. Wes always say Her X Men is not x men. Which another thing I disagree. I literally do not understand why you think fighting the Shadow who stalks and make people commit seppeku and bunch kids figuring how they got these powers equals a girl coming of age story. At Least Peach Momoko Ultimate X Men is building something new from the ground up. Just like Sully said. I read issue 5. They finally form their team, to fight a religious cult. Yes, a Mutant Religion cult. Best of All Krakoa never exists in earth 6160 so it won’t drag This version of X Men down. Can I get a hallelujah.

  • @EricOSullivan
    @EricOSullivanКүн бұрын

    yeah but to be sure I dropped Ultimate X-Men after #4. I nonetheless looooove Peach's artwork yet there's a huge anti-male bias evident and obvious over 5 issues. All the heroic leads are Female, all 5 of them. Every Male is a bully, a su!cide, a lecherous creep, a host for the Shadow King, and Maystorm's physically @busive father. Zero Heroic Male characters. I had enough. I gave it a try but it literally made me sad to read. Lots of wheelspinning, not world building IMHO. X-Men books are supposed to be high octane action adventure stories and for all people. Good continuity catch with Sophie and Prodigy BTW! I do disagree about Deniz Camp's use of characters. They're vapid platforms for his feelings and activism. That book is in the wrong hands.
