I waited 50 years for a car to look like 1970/1971, and now it's being discontinued while it's having the best sales since its introduction. The only cure is to introduce a Charger that looks like a 1968/1969 or a Cuda with old looks! Tim needs to do just this, and the sales will skyrocket. I guarantee it.

Good info, there's a reason the Challenger outsold it's counterparts , there is a lot more than just 0-60 or 1/4 mile times.. where are you going to do that for a STREET CAR? No one is going to sit @ a set of lights hitting buttons to prepare for a 1/4 mile drag run on the way to the grocery store, let's get that out of the way! The Challengers have ROOM inside and are quick and the looks plus other features people will buy them for.
Still don't understand why dodge has too go electric while Ford and GM gets the go ahead too continue on with ICE , 🤔
I agree with you, Dodge offering 2 muscle coupe’s one an ev and the other petrol is a great marketing strategy, but I was thinking a two seater Challenger would be fire, Hot Wheels has a car called the Count Muscular that looks like a Viper and Challenger mixed, Dodge making that would be🔥

Um... whoever said the Challenger is a boat obviously doesn't know anything about Challengers. The boat feel is what makes it great. You can't put a 426 in a Subaru.
I have a 2021 Challenger Scatpack Widebody and I love it, glad I bought it last year when I did. Think I’ll be keeping it
I am happy Ford is doing the Dark Horse.
I agree with the idea that the next Challenger will be smaller. The Charger was historically a large car and the Challenger was historically a midsizer.

Correct. The challenger/Cuda ( E-body ) were classified as pony cars, while the charger was the muscle car. It's good to see the charger to two door form.

Sadest day ever
I’m selling my scat for the new mustang, that’s what’s happening. Dodge will absolutely TANK in the next 3 years
I'm so glad I purchased my 2022 Charger R/T Daytona a few months back because I have a feeling a lot of the 2023's are going to be overpriced. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the Challenger and I agree with you 100% on the direction Dodge is taking. They've also kept the Cuda trademark so I'm curious to see how that comes into play as well. My question is what does Dodge plan on doing about selling a 4 Door model? Are they planning on coming out with a 4 Door Charger in addition to the coupe concept? I can't imagine them making the Challenger a 4 Door I feel like that might start a riot. I can remember the chatter when they announced the 4 Door Charger 18 years ago.
@FatboySips

Bro they are overpriced! A fully loaded R/T plus 2023 is sticker priced at $71,000 bro!! Its insane. I wanted to get a new R/T but man those prices are really making me just stick with my current one.😭
You can’t just go cold turkey on gas and jump straight into EV. At least offer both as an option like the F150 Lightning and Mustang Mach E. This also gives automakers time to workout their kinks in the supply chains, production lines and reliability. American automakers have a horrible history of rushing into production and it ALWAYS backfires. I think Ford might’ve figured this out because they have early preproduction testers out on the roads. Not that Ford would actually consider anything from it, but hopefully Dodge does right by it’s customers. Unfortunately GM has ruined the Camaro in recent years which is a shame because it was a beautiful car until the most recent refreshes and even then it was style over function. I could go all day..
Absolutely I agree with you that’s what I think they’re going to do.
Great vid! Thanks!!

I think your pretty close on this but I do hope the launch of Challenger is a year earlier.Think to keep a broad based interest in Charger it will be offered with the Hurricane, but who knows. I love the idea of a smaller, lighter Challenger with Hurricane engines, all wheel drive and the possibility of a hybrid option later. All in all this whole Dodge thing is captivating and the conversations are drawing much interest. Thanks!

Already ordered my next Challenger, a GT in Sinamon Stick. Build date is January 10, 2023. Don't need a Hemi; I have three Oldsmobile Toronados with the 455!
I'm keeping my 2020 WB Shaker forever!!!
Great video
After 2023? Dodge dies.
I agree that's PROBABLY what they will do, but from a sales standpoint that may be a mistake. Back in the late 2000s they were dealing with 2 muscle cars with different number of doors but similar performance. These days they could reasonably release both, one electric (read damn expensive) and another gas and/or hybrid which will be at least a little more economically priced. The folks that want electric and the ridiculous torque that will come along with that will buy the Charger, those that want something maybe not so crazy and more affordable will buy the Challenger, similar to R/T buyers vs Hellcat buyers. Just my opinion of course.
The new EV Charger is going to be a museum piece like the turbine car from 50yrs ago. The truth about EV's is coming out every day and these pieces of crap based on fraudulent claims about being environmentally friendly is a crock of shit. If Dodge wants to run the company into the ground, discontinuing one of their most popular cars and making EV's is the way to do it.
I would like to know what the future holds for the rango. Would rather have that keep going then that hornet……
I'm excited about ... absolutely none of this! Dodge sells very few cars in total now and will sell far fewer in the future. Stellantis plan has ALWAYS been to keep Jeep and Ram and let the rest slowly die off.
thorough analysis. Sounds quite plausible
showing love from lansing,mi would love to get a ahold of that michigan intro but i have a 09 sxt high output diablo tuned exhaust cai but i just had a lifter go out when yours went did you rplace the entire assembley or just specefic lifters??
Bro, I hope your rite with what you said. I like the EV Charger with the exception of the wheels.
That Charger concept, for many reasons, will not make it to production as a two-door.
I still imagine theyre revealing a 4-door hurricane powered Road Runner. It was under the sheet and teased as the new Charger
The dodge challenger is a legend, got it's spotlight in various movies such as Fast and Furious to name a few. I can't see this car going away. Next generation Charger ev only & Challenger gas powered only? Doesn't make no sense at all, dodge is making one muscle car ev & the other gas powered. Why they just can put a hemi hybrid, 392 hemi hybrid and hellcat hemi hybrid. Other manufacturers keep their v8s, Mercedes keep their biturbo v8 with hybrid tec. Chevrolet coming out with the corvette e-ray with a 6.2 v8 w/hybrid tec. Ford came out with their 2024 mustang v8. Every knows this, Except dodge. No hemis v8s?? What does that mean for the dodge brand?
Wonder what they’ll stick the hurricane engine into. A newer updated challenger? Would it be able to keep up with the new mustang gt/ darkhorse??
Dodge challenger is a legend muscle car
Agree with your prediction 100%. I could also see the name formally change to "Cuda".
Looking forward to the Mean Green wapow.
There's going to be a gas powered charger and challenger for MY2024 (they already teased it in the stellantis EV day video the put out a year ago.) as well as an EV charger.

Your prediction seems very plausible. Do you think a current platform (Alfa Romeo) will be used for the next gen Challenger?
It would make sense to have a classically styled and gas engined challenger model and a modern styled EV charger. I'd like that.
Off topic, but it blows my mind that Buick hasn't figured out that they should do WTF they should do...
Good luck with future. I keep my hellcat ; you can keep the “change”
It claims stock quarter is 11.7 for Redeye Widebody.. This may be true with the stock tire but if you put 315 nittos 555R2 on the rear just a decent street/drag tire I ran 11.08 127mph first time drag racing.
I can see it now, a 2 door 2 seater with a tunable duel turbo v6. It could lose some height but keep it wide.

DAMN MAN!!! SHIT SICKS THEY WANT TO GO ELECTRIC!!! What about the Hornet? Can you do a video for the Hornet when you see it showing up at Car Lots?
I thought they said both challenger and charger would be on the large platform. Anyhow, if they don't create a large 4-door gas powered sedan, they won't be getting any of my $$
I think the Charger will be a 2-door And a 4-Door. They just need to come out with a 4.0 Twin Turbo HEMI, based on the 3.0 TT I-6 Hurricane and and the 2.0 T I-4
I concur.
I agree. Dodge should use all aluminum body structure only on charger and challenger. Lighten up Dodge!!!
I’ve said it before; Say Goodbye To Dodge Again;!!!; History ALWAYS Repeats Itself.
I heard a little different from Brampton. Charger is 4 door only different styled front clip (similar to hornet) and will have ice engines (police market😁) Now for the challenger he said he seen a prescreened diagrams on a build sheet and he didn't like it because it looked similar to a 5th gen camaro with challenger nose he said it looked like they styled the grill after the 72-73 challengers also the taillights on the challenger as looking like a horizontal Q-tip but edgy. Alot of aluminum components for both cars suspension/body panels and the turbos I6 was lighter them the hemi by 107 pounds. and there's multiple production variations running around and it was just a matter of time before someone gets a picture.
After they go all battery powered they go by the way side.
Dodge and everyone else needs to keep certain gas powered vehicles even if the sell short distance electric vehicles
Alright since they are doing this weird 3 row thing with the RAM. What if they made a modular challenger with a ridiculous number of build options? I mean like choose between challenger appearing economy 3 row or RWD sports car roomy rear or rear seat delete. Or go absolutely nuts with a mid engine design.
Wait and see. I would like a 4th generation Challenger or a new CUDA model, with the Hurricane I6, released in the 2025 model year.

I wouldn't. Don't see a point of a Challenger without a V8 option especially when even the 2024 Mustang will offer one.
Dude, Dodge is dead...Tim killed it; you just don't know it yet.
Challenger outsells Mustang and Camaro. Bring back an ice version with the hurricane 6 cylinder engine. Make sure that it is available in convertible and the SRT.
If Stellantis doesn’t do an about face on the Hemi, you can chalk it off as an auto manufacturer for good. Sales of Dodge trucks are already collapsing.
If it doesn't have a hemi I'm not getting it.
I would love to see a lighter Challenger with a more powerful engine
Thought they were keeping both the Charger and Challenger but putting Hurricane engines in them.
@MarspeedCars
Жыл бұрын
No word on the Challenger hence this video, Charger is EV only unless Dodge changes up on what they said. They are doing 340 and 440 models for that with varying power levels (talked about the Charger in another recent vid). Hurricane is likely for Challenger
To me it ended when they said "no more gas engine". That put the nail in the coffin and gave the hot rodders to bow tie and stang.
Making it smaller and putting the hurricane inline 6 would also make it FAR more fuel efficient, making it an excellent decision for a competitor to the Supra and Nissan Z
All I can say is I wish I had kept my challenger hellcat redeye. I’m looking at the prices of them now and they’re $100,000 plus absolutely ridiculous. I don’t remember what I paid for mine but it was nowhere near $100,000 or I wouldn’t of bought it.😅

Why would you even get rid of such and iconic car for ANY reason? If it came down to my house or my Hellcat, I guess I'm living in my Hellcat! 🤣😂 Someday those will be worth $250K+ and my house won't be.
Tim Said Read The Tea Leaves.
I believe you’re right but until then we have to hear those Ford clowns and their 24 Mustangs lol which aren’t bad I might add…
Start the assembly line again for the #300. Many of us have the money and would buy one.
I feel like dodge would have to come out with the challenger either way as long as it’s gas powered because it would lose attention since the challenger is a favorite/popular model for mopar and just ending it would lose attention and people would hate dodge for that
Chevy has anounced a new hybid ( ev and gas) all wheel drive corvette. I think it would be cool for dodge to create Competition In The Super Car Ring Other Than The Viper Of Coarse calling It Cuda Or Challenger.
All I'm saying is that if dodge keeps making Hemis than everyone that's wants a v8 won't have to start worrying about the hellcat being killed

@John Black He isn't drinking it. Leave him alone please.
I also wonder if the big three ever got together and come out with one car?
I think its totally stupid to put your eggs in one basket. I highly doubt that the demand is as strong for the electric Charger as is the current production totals, so it would be highly in their best interests to have some choice in their lineup. I have felt what you are predicting is the reasonalbe approach, lighter car with lighter power plant, even including a Hybrid option is the best way to move forward, if they want to still sell an in demand car, and transition into a new automotive scene. Its not practical to think that a 100% transition into all electric will work so easily. I don't think the Hornet, while an interesting addition, won't fill the gap, sales wise.
I'm not optimistic about a challenger coming back as a two-door coupe if it ever comes back. Probably something like the mock e Mustang. It'll be some sort of crossover. I'm hoping to be wrong. A small version with a hot 6 cylinder turbo would be a decent car. I'd rather they call it a Cuda actually
Dodge will be out business with electric cars
Honestly don't know how you could say that the challenger has not kept up with the Mustang and Camaro seeing how the challenger has more sales for the last 5 years and that also they have better performance.
I think a new Viper would come back as a sports car before the Challenger as the sports car. Think C8 fighter. Unless the New Challenger is ICE...That would change everything I previously said.
I want one
By reducing weight they actually add horses without actually adding horses to the engine.

I'm just praying that they'll make these wonderfully promising vehicles affordable to the average Joe and not force us to settle for cars like Kona, Corolla or a Civic (good as they are).

I WANT TO BELIEVE! but aren’t the Camaros and big engine Mustangs also going away?
What do you mean you wanted to build a 1968 Charger? You brought back the Challenger look? Just make the new Charger look like a 1968/1969. What's the issue Tim? Your new Charger looks too electrical to most Hemi ICE fans. What's the problem with a 1968 look???
I can live without a V8 but not without the Challenger 😢
I've seen many heavier challengers take camaros and mustangs from a stop light or roll and quarter mile.
Sold my built 392 last Saturday. When a brand gives their customers the finger, give them the finger back. Hybrids were the next logical step and they just skipped right over it, to EV; which isn't viable yet.
I don't know WHY they are doing this.
Sure is one of those things that makes me go " hmmmm , both Dodge brothers die , at the time when they were out selling in sales and quality against Ford ?🤔just sayin, just wonder why everyone has a pet pev against Dodge ,🤔
I don’t have any hope in the future of automobiles. They keep getting worse. The Chally is the only classic looking muscle car left.
ev will be a joke bye dodge it was a fun ride
I think the new electric Charger will be a 4 door in production. Just squint at the Charger show car in profile and think 4 doors. That roofline and passenger compartment volume rear of the front seats says it all. The market has spoken. They've spent the last decade-and-a-half selling a 4 door Charger and addressing that (shrunken) car sub-market to great success. Four doors and a hatch provide greater practicality and give Dodge the best shot at the sales volumes they need to meet. Also makes the Challenger coupe different enough from the Charger in design to justify both offerings - aside from the electric vs. gasoline drivetrains. Just sayin'.
