We don't need sequels, a we need are remakes of mgs 1 and 3 and mg 1 and 2. And rest is non canon bs made without Fukushima. 4 and 5 and PW and PO should be erased from existence.

A whole remake that includes what happens in both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake would be a dream come true. I hope Delta is a great game.

Literally everything is there for a complete remake of MG and MG2 it’s the ones you could redo and not worry about tarnishing a classic

If they ever made an MGS6, I would like to see the real Big Boss' story from the moment he left on that motorcycle until the moment Metal Gear began in 1995.

But I think the Metal Gear games on the MSX need to be remade in 3D, like the current MGS games to this day.

yeah, and who the fck is going to do that? It takes a game designer to design a game. That kind of remake requires to design a game from scratch and Konami doesn't have that kind of staff anymore

I would LOVE to see a remake of MG & MG2: Solid Snake, but I'd like even more, is the mentioned story of Raiden between MGS2 & 4, with the first half being "normal" sneaking, and as the game progresses, Raiden has to get certain enhancements to be able to save Sunny. Or, Raiden willingly becomes a cyborg, and his journey through it all the while gathering Intel to rescue Sunny.. as long as the story is about rescuing Sunny and the story about Raiden going from a man to a cyborg is what I'm craving, but with way more sneaking!!!

Absolutely agreed, would also like to throw in the boss and her story being like a mix of snake eater and peace walker but set in WW2 like how Perfect Stealth mentioned. I would also like to throw in a game about how snake and otacon made Philanthropy, in the vein of like a opposite peacewalker; weapons OSP, levels designed to sneak in & quickly destroy lesser & major metal gears copies, photo missions to leak evidence of Metal Gears, destroying plans for metal gear/ rescuing scientists, etc. the story could be set before 2 and explore how Snake and Meryl fall out and as to why he and Otacon teamed to build philanthropy in the first place. Or could be set before 4, and deal with philanthropy trying to stop the ever growing and ever more visible War Economy and metal gear usage as well as explore Snake in his early stages of his rapid Foxdie mutation, seeing him go from a bit aged 2 look to ending with him as he appeared in 4,as well as explore more how the war economy shaped the world to that point.

How about Portable OPS? Maybe they could streamline the thing and give good'ol Frankie the depth he deserves

They should make a game about grey fox becoming the cyborg ninja and what led to him being at shadow moses. And it should play closer to the original MGR concept in terms of combat and slice mechanic

Do not do that. Ancient wisdom; never meet your heroes. He's lost the plot as time has gone on. He clings to the role of Snake because he has nothing else worth noting, and he clings to X2 because he doesn't write enough of anything else worth note. He's a one-trick-pony, and if he is given the reigns to the story, knowing what I've seen from him over the last 10 years, he'll shoehorn in his personal socio-political views rather than stick with the story as it's been established. He's pro-censorship in the very ways that Solid Snake opposed. He believes that people need to have information screened and filtered before we're allowed to be exposed to any of it, and that some governing force should be the arbiter of what we're allowed to be exposed to. That is literally the S3 Plan, and he's in favor of it, despite being so proud to be the EN voice of Solid Snake, the man who risked his life to fight against such things. Hayter is a decent VA, and the voice of a fictional character we all love. He needs to stay in his lane.

I always wanted MG1&2 to be combined and remastered into one game. MG1 being the prologue and MG2 being the main game. And as a bonus, remake Ghost Babel into the same style. It would be cool if there was a time paradox you trigger in MG1 and the rest of the game progresses into Ghost Babel instead of MG2

How about they make the metal gear game that takes part in between the end of MGS2 and before MGS4 and explain how Raiden become the Cyborg ninja and save Sunny

Hopefully the 2nd collection has 4, PeaceWalker, maybe Twin Snakes?

I love the idea of the MG1+MG2 Remake, a proper Raidsn story set between MGS2 and MGS4, and a WW1/2-era story around the boss, but I hope MGS never goes full first-person. I think third-person with the option of first-person aiming is part of MGS’s character, and I wouldn’t want it to end up feeling like generic action game number 4.

Ehhh I don’t know about a completely new entry. What story is there more to tell? Original Metal Gear remake would be ideal.

I personally think that a Gray Fox spin-off set during the missions that rendered him the status he had in FOXHOUND, that is, the codename FOX, would be nice. (1989-1991 would be the ideal period in my opinion, due to the fact that it was the final years of the Cold War)

The Boss In WW2/early space race/McCarthyism/Iron Curtain era is all I want

Honestly, I'm sick of remakes. At best remakes are just the original game with better graphics and modernized controls, and at worst they can end up superficial replications that completely fail to capture the genius of the original gameplay, art direction, etc. Spongebob BFBB's remake completely changed the way the player controls and AI act, to the point of the devs turning several wall jump challenges into cutscenes because it was literally impossible with the game's wall jump mechanics and Halo CE Anniversary made several dark and scary levels bright and beautiful. At this point, if the older games were to be revisited, I'd rather they be reimagined, let a new team put a new spin on their gameplay. Stuff like splitting hunger from stamina and having stamina recover faster the higher your hunger meter is (or lower? idk) or making a hybrid of 3 and V's gunplay with 3's autofire and V's ADS or making the game without load zones so you can't cheese encounters with them. Peace Walker and Portable Ops especially are the games I'd be most interested in being reimagined, even moreso than MG and MG2SS, Portable Ops' pacing was WAAAY too slow and would've worked better as a Virtuous Mission-esque prologue, and both felt heavily held back by the PSP.

Hypothetical game #3: It's set between MGS1 & 2 and focuses on Solid Snake and Otacon starting up Philanthropy. Peace Walker/MGSV type of progression with set infiltration missions and some boss battles thrown in. As you progress and get more money you can invest to then start missions w better stuff like a better sneaking suit or rations. Otherwise it's procurement on site. Idk what specific story beats or themes you wanna have, so free reign on that. But yeah, nothing as completely massive as MGSV but a proper console Peace Walker experience. Thank you for coming to my TED talk 😂 P.S. post game bonus mission can be the tanker from MGS2. Maybe even a Pliskin chapter DLC??

I would prefer to see the remakes of MG1 and MG2SS as their own entries, but adding more content to them, instead of just remaking and combining them. We could play as Big Boss and build our Mother Base, fight and recruit the bosses, and then play as Solid Snake infiltrating the base that we built. I think Phantom Pain should've been in South Africa in the first place, to tie in with MG. Or maybe, they should just remake Phantom Pain and correct this and other issues. Instead of giving us more than 20 repeated missions but on hard mode, to end up with 51, let us choose the difficulty of the missions from the start and give us actual new missions, in South Africa. Instead of using generic skull units as boss fights, give us crazy Foxhound dudes full of personality and charisma, and then let us infiltrate that base with Solid Snake. I would call this game Metal Gear Outer Heaven. As for MGS1, instead of a remake, I would prefer a remaster, in the same style as the Tomb Raider Remastered trilogy. Characters remodeled, textures in 4K, bonus content and QoL improvements. I wouldn't touch the dialogues, the same way as they are doing with MGS3. MGS1, to me, has the best voice acting in the franchise, and one of the best of all time in video games. A remake with new today's mechanics would have to completely redesign the whole game, butchering some of it's great aspects in the process. Wouldn't be impossible, but I don't trust Konami to do it. In fact, a remaster of MGS that includes MG1 and MG2SS in that same engine wouldn't be a bad idea, as they are all top down view, we wouldn't need to butcher the game design to acomodate the new mechanics. I wouldn't mind a new Metal Gear game starring The Boss, but for the love of God, NOT FPS. I highly believe this would flop hard, and I can definitely say, speaking for myself, that I wouldn't buy a Kojimaless FPS Metal Gear.

I had a minor role in the making of Metal Gear Rising, and as far as I know a sequel was canned long ago due to conflicting schedules and Platinum has so many projects lined up. For the future of the series though, I'd much rather see a total reboot, which sounds lame but if you set up a new story with an aura of mystery and government conspiracy, I think the series can start fresh without the constant fanservice that plagued the later sequels.

There is room for a game where you play as Grey Fox and experience what it's like working for Foxhound under Big Boss in the years between the late 80s and 1995. It would show a rookie Solid Snake and conclude with starting the Outer Heaven mission.

I honestly really don't want a Boss game. I prefer her and her backstory being somewhat of a mystery. I like that MGS3 gives you all you need to know about her and the rest is left up for the players imagination. Personally, it would also annoy to get yet another "Past" game because Solid Snake, the defacto protagonist of the series, hasn't been relevant to said series since 2008. Besides, regardless of how you feel about a new Kojima-less entry, I feel like we've been written into a corner where I don't think they can continue either Solid Snake or Big Boss' story. And especially with all the lingering baggage from the Kojima situation, I think if they really want to make new entries, it would be the best to just reboot the series and have the Kojima era maintained through compilations and remakes like their doing right now. I know people would react negatively to the series being rebooted at first but I think it would be the best move so the fans (especially the ones that completely love Kojima) don't have to worry about his story getting altered and the current writters can write a completely new story, free of the baggage of all the existing lore.

I like your idea of condensing MG 1 into a prologue but at the same time doing that they would probably have to cut out some of the bosses and I think you would have to minimize the scope of Outer Heaven a bit. And I just dont know how I would feel about doing that because Metal Gear Solid 5 was building up to Outer Heaven and making it into a really big deal. I think its clear that Kojima would have wanted to remake both of those games next if he had been able to stick around at Konami. Plus if we went this MG1 as a prologue route. We would be kind of left in the dark about what happened to Diamond Dogs after MGSV. I think if they were able to rewrite a story for MG1 the Outer Heaven incident and incorperate Diamond Dogs into the story, flesh out the stories of the prisoners you have to rescue inside of Outer Heaven and really get deep into what Big Boss vision of Outer Heaven was, what it meant. Then they should have enough material to make that into its own game seperate from MG2. And they would have room to dive into Solid Snake's origin too. I think if this team is to be trusted carrying the franchise forward. Metal Gear Solid 6 should just be a remake of MG1 as a straight sequel to V.

The first two Metal Gear games on the MSX 2 definitely need a modern re-telling with a massive facelift. It would be good to see Venon Snake once again, even if he's the enemy next time around.

My only issue with a new metal gear is who would be the main character? Like we covered most the gaps of the snakes and MGS 4 being the end of timeline. I think the OG games need a modern facelift

I want to play as a young solid/liquid snake not sure what kind of mission they’d be on but as long as they fit it chronologically and voiced by the same actors I’m buying in

Konamis could do: Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake remake and call it MGS: Outer Heaven Chronicles. Solid Snake would be playable in the main story and will have a MGS2/MGS3 prologue and main story. Also have a debriefing like what MGS4 did. Have the prologue have players play as Frank Jaeger/Gray Fox and see how he ended up “captured.” And also the enemy soldiers that were in MGS5 can be transferred to MG1 and MG2 remake. Kazuhiro Miller will also be in MG1 remake. Also the prologue for MG2 will be about Frank Jaeger again and will also see Jim Houseman and Master Miller appears again. The story for MG2 will be a reimagining, instead of a full remake story like TTS and players will see Big Boss have flashbacks and reminders of MGS3. Another metal gear game should be Rising 2. Have it be “part sequel and part prequel”. It takes place after MGR1 and Raiden remembers after MGS2 when he tries to rescue Sunny from the patriots and how he became a cybernetic organism in MGS4. Raiden would also have flashback when he was a child soldier and when Solidus was his godfather. Raiden would get PTSD and the games theme would be darker like MGS5. That game should have stealth mechanics mixed with sword battles just like the Metal Gear Solid: Rising. The game should be called Metal Gear Solid: Rising again. Also have a Metal gear battle similar to MGS4 but have it play like transformers or Gundam fighting games. And last game needs to take place after MGS5, and players play as the real Big Boss and he forms his Outer Heaven and we see the darker version of him compared to how he was in MGS3. See Sniper Wolf, Naomi, Frank Jaeger, and young Solid Snake in the game. Solid Snake can appear in an epilogue and that chapter sets up MG1 in Outer Heaven saying, “Kept ya waitin’ huh?”

That's a bit outside of the topic, but I played mgr and enjoyed it, I like the verse and I am more into guns and tactical stuff than cyberpunk and ninjas (tho I like it too) so I want to try other mg games, but it seems like delta happens to be the furthest back into the verse, I want to start there but it'll take time before they make it, what do I do now?

Personally I think that MGS is a complete series from MG to MGS5. We know enough about each important character to keep them interesting yet mysterious. I think they should remake every main line game and maybe even the portable games if possible or at least put them to pc. What the team could or should do is make a spiritual successor to MGS, a completely new franchise with all the things they learned over the years.

All i want is metal gear 1&2 remade i would take metal gear solid 2 graphics at this point

​@@p3wter0 They actually reopened the online version of MGS4 with the Save MGO Project. It's playable on PS3 and PC, and as funny as it was back in the day, but be warned, it has the most toxic community I've ever seen.

David returning for young rookie Solid Snake in a Metal Gear 1 and 2 remake would be a dream come true and just as you said there are so many possibilities and a lot of creative freedom, I'm personally hopeful for a MGS1 remake next but I would be all the way in for a MG1&2 Remake

If they make a brand new game. It should be a spinoff-in-universe. Like a game about the boss, or raidens origin story

So retrieving the body of Big Boss for EVA wasn't part of MGS Rising. In MGS4, Raiden said he saved Sunny before going after the body of Big Boss for EVA. So the story goes ... while trying to save Sunny, Raiden was captured by Wexler and then Wexler turned him into a cybernetic puppet for himself, in powerful black armor, and then later Raiden regained his memories and was placed into a new white armor from Dr. Madnar (this process saved Raiden from dying) then Raiden went back, saved Sunny, killed Wexler, then entrusted Snake and Otacon with Sunny (end of MGS Rising) Afterwards Raiden retrieved the body of Big Boss for EVA (in his new white armor) then went to Alaska and learned tracking skills, then showed up in MGS4 (2014) still in the white armor. Then in MGR (2018) when he upgraded to the black armor, all he was really doing was returning to his original and more powerful armor from his mind controlled days under Wexler. That's actually a cool story.. bro. I like it. No. I ryke it.

As much as I like Metal Gear. I think they need to make a new IP that plays like Metal Gear. Add new stuff to it.

I hope mgs3 remake would have some sort of dlc or side missions after the player has finished the campaign. Multiplayer would be a great add too...

I/We desperately need them to bring back Metal Gear Online (MGO2) that was released with MGS4.

As nice as it would be to have a new Metal Gear game or a remake, I'd love it if companies were bold and honest enough to say "hey we know you love this series but there is nothing more we can offer other than remakes. We wish to create a new IP based off of Metal Gear with similar gameplay" From Software hasn't ever stated this but all their IPs are very simiar, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden ring are all different IPs with very similar core gameplay. I would love it if Konami decided to give us more games of this style with new characters and new themes that doesn't devalue Metal gear as a whole.

I think MGS6 would take place during MG1, telling the tale of the new Solid Snake infiltrating Outer Heaven and killing Venom.

they really ONLY should do a remake, the reason why metal gear was so good was because Kojima put his heart soul and passion into it, Konami just does things for money and money alone, I agree Metal Gear 1 is too simple for a remake, Metal Gear 2 is PERFECT for a remake since this is when kojima started implementing all of his ideas into a more powerful engine. Literally everything is there for a complete remake of MG and MG2. All the material is there and would surely be the cheapest most logical ones to do.

I never got around to playing ground zeroes or MGS5 mainly because David Hayter wasn’t voicing snakes character I know some people argued that because it wasn’t actually snake you were playing as that’s why the voice was change, but as the saying goes if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

David Hayter should finally play snake in a movie, also Hideo should at least apear in it. Take notes and make no excuses.

It's hard to trust a new team to continue a complex story without Kojima. Like Disney Star Wars without George Lucas lacks heart and continuity. I would prefer an MG & MG2 remake to be more like MGS to maintain the top/down gameplay with cutscenes and voiceover.

Remake of MG1-2 could be interesting. I could be ok with a new MGS but it will hit different for sure, probably not with that messages and symbolisms of original games. Still wish something with the part not present in MGSV too. ^^;

Personally, I would say it's way too soon to say I want a Metal Gear Solid 6. I think it's best to see how the remakes and remasters do FIRST. Then decide if a new mainline entry is feasible. I remain hopeful.

I genuinely hope they remake metal gear and metal gear 2 : Solid Snake, bring back david hayter to voice a younger solid snake before the events of shadow moses would be cool to see gray fox more fleshed out, or even closure of seeing the fate of "venom" snake (big boss supposedly from mgs v) there is so much potential here if its done well! Its risky however as hideo kojima is not around anymore for future mgs titles 😢 Konami is a loose canon after all....im hopeful but cautious too..

A fps metal gear is not something I want to see. Would make cqc pretty useless. I'd be okay with it not being a stealth game, but not interested in it as a fps one bit.

Also, if Konami want to make any brand new entries, Rising 2 would be the best one to start with as the last one was the most successful entry not to be made by Hideo Kojima.

"Konami is willing to make a new Metal Gear IF Delta is well received" but here's the problem with that; they'll never be able to make a Metal Gear that fans accept as truly 'canon' unless it's helmed by Kojima... that's _exactly why_ the remake will sell in the first place.

Oh man I would rather they remake MGS1, MGS2, MGS4 next cus I don't know If I trust them to come up with a new story as detailed and as good as it would be with Kojima But I would be ok with them remaking MG1 and MG2 but I wouldn't make MG1 like Ground Zeroes I would rather it be its own game just take all the story parts they had in the original and add new stuff in there as well I know MGS3 Remake has removed the filters but if they Remake MGS1 they need to have the blue filter and clear weather to make Shadow Moses look beautiful Cus MGS1 had clear weather and blue filter Twin Snakes had clear weather but no blue filter it felt more grey in colour MGS4 Shadow Moses was the worst cus it was foggy and in the middle of a snow storm so you can hardly see anything I am sceard that if they Remake MGS1 they will go realistic by making it a snow storm like in MGS4 If they want to do that they should pick and chose when they have the snow storm so most of the game the weather is clear with the blue filter but when you get to the walkway where the door is frozen shut make it a snow storm like in MGS4 and make it a snow storm when you are fighting Sniper Wolf it would added even more of a challenge if its hard to see

I don't think I'll ever trust Konami enough to make an entirely new MGS game without Kojima writing & directing it, or at the very least, supervising it. I am, however, open to the idea of Konami remaking older MGS titles _as faithfully as possible._
