I always assumed it was just an addon to put over his legs. Like a phonecase in a way. Makes the legs look more presentable but probably slows him down. That would explain why he's always very decked out in terms of fashion but his legs are always left pretty barren and vulnerable Speed is life after all

Valk also says "Speed isn't life, it just makes life go faster" when being selected. Then when outside the ring she will sometimes say "Fine dad, you win, speed is life, whatever." (If you didn't know Viper is Valk's dad.)

Fun fact: octane named his rabbit Navi, not navidad, he said it was to shorten the word but they new it was to take out the word “dad”.

With the mention of Christmas at 3:45, that made me wonder, do all planets in the outlands go by the same 12 month calendar and celebrate Christmas like how we do on Earth…? 🤔

as an octane/mirage main, i just love the difference between the two. mirage lost almost all his family and is on the verge of losing his mother, all his past friends died, so he’s always lonely, and he pushes people away as a defence mechanism and masks it with humour. octane had loads of fun, he had so many fans and friends, but not listening caused his relationship with his father to fail. he continued to have fun though.

Until recently this has been a satisfying story for Octane. Octane to me is the kind of character that is so simple they don’t really need a super complex backstory.

He needs his own "Story form the Outlands" He was my main for a couple seasons even chose his heirloom as my first heirloom lol his energy is unmatched to this day imo!!

New sub here. Not an Apex player but my eldest son is a huge Titanfall fan and neither of us knew that Apex Legends was part of that universe. Don't know how we didn't know. Lol. Octanes legs got blown off by a frag grenade trying to boost himself to the finish line and he said he wanted to beat the guy in the Gauntlet speed record sim-vid and he got beat by octane like 3 milli seconds from the grenade boost you can also see the time he set in one of the loading screens
