do you think alpine will break down the kit and sell them not as a kit for people that had the car for sometime and already did some upgrades to the speakers and just want to get a dsp amp and upgade to a bigger sub?

22:50 Have you ever tried a 1/4" ratcheting wrench, combined with the bit of your choice, for dash speakers with super low clearances? It can be a little bit of a hassle to get stuff broken loose with that setup (what you used may be better), but once it's loose it's waaaaay faster. I would typically use something like a pry tool in my opposite hand to hold the bit in to the fastener while I turn it with the wrench.

I bet they have tried it all, slow is better that cracking a windshield. Since the inside of the glass tends to be the weaker side. Love that tool he showed, with the soft plastic cover on the handle.

@@AraCarrano I have the same Craftsman he showed (with the padded handle) and its generally not the handle side that hits the glass, it's the unpadded head. For that reason, it's my opinion that the fewer times you have to take a new "bite" on the head of the fastener by repositioning the head of the tool (which is what Dean was commenting about with his specialty tool), the safer it is for the windshield. When you back up what I suggested with a plastic trim tool, you're about as protected as is possible. Sometimes you can sneak a bondo spread between the glass and the dash too, but that also eats room. Anyhow, keep in mind I'm not suggesting he did anything wrong or that anyone thunder away at it no matter what tool is used. 😆 It's just something that took me way too long to think up in my own endeavors so I thought I'd throw it out there for others, especially since Dean complained about how he had to do it on this car. If he calls me mean names because of it, he'll be joining a popular club... there may even be a line. 😅
