    If I remember correctly, until X-T1, Fujifilm sold less than total of 100K X cameras. Yes, all across the board. But with the X-T1 it really did hit the nail on the head, course people pre-ordered that camera like crazy, even before it hit the shelfs. So yes, I agree, X-T1 did create the X line of cameras as we have it today...

    So true. Got XT1 in June of 2014. It’s a solid performer. I love it. It’s been used and abused. At this point some of the button aren’t as responsive. The body cover completely came off and is now my XT1 is wrapped in Sugru. I do want to upgrade to XT4 or XT5. I wish I had classic negative. My XT1 lives with my Fuji 35 1.4. Looking to add the 16 2.8 this summer. Thank you for your tribute to the legendary XT1!

    I bought my XT1 in 2018 and I love everything about it. I have recently added a few of the old lenses, the 18-55, the 35 f.1;4 , the 60 macro and even though they all have their fair share of criticism, I love them and they produce great photos. Especially the kit zoom 18-55 makes a big difference because of the image stabilizer. I have to say that the camera is Ten years old at this point, and it’s starting to show, so I’m planning to upgrade. Probably to an XT5 even though I don’t need 40 megapixels. But the Ibis and the big battery and the autofocus, yes please. Great video. ❤❤❤

    I've been following your channel for years now, your genuine love for photography, it is something I can relate to. I'm also using the XT1, it is my go to camera for almost everything. I use it not because the sensor produces beautiful images, but because I love the process of taking photographs with the XT1. You kinda inspired me to make a video as well, I have a ton of photos, I haven't shared yet. Though thr XT1 is a photo first camera, I sometimes shoot short videos with it, just for fun. Hope to see more of your future work, thanks for making this video. I forgot to mention that your photos are really beautiful.

    This camera as I mentioned to you years ago is magical. I bought one for my now 16 year old son in 2020 to get in touch with this hobby. And guess what…beside all my newer Fuji and expensive Leica equipment I will buy an xt1 for me tomorrow!! 🥳🙏🏼 I really felt in love with this camera. Greets from Nils from munich germany

    I’ve had my XT1 for over 9 years now. It was an upgrade from the XE1, which I passed on to my daughter. A few years ago, I had my XT1 reskinned. But more recently, the dials are getting very sticky now and can be very difficult to turn. I’ve shot a lot of images with that body. Back when my daughter was in high school wrestling, I used to shoot about 5000 images every weekend at 15fps with the 56mm f/1.2 lens. That worked great for fast shutter speed in dimly lit gyms. It would take hours to filter down 5000 shots into the apex moments, then crop/adjust. But all the girls on the team just loved their photos!!! After wrestling ended, I got into carrying a bunch of small primes, and I was using my old 56/1.2 far less so I sold it. Anyway, because of the sticky dials, I now am shooting on the XT4. And I got some smallish and light weight Sigma lenses that are very good: 10-18mm f/2.8, 18-50mm f/2.8, and 56mm f/1.4 (because I missed the Fuji 56 but wanted lighter/cheaper). Anyway, loved your video. Gave me a bit of nostalgia for the enduring relationship I’ve had with my XT1. Thanks.

    Good to see you back! I've just bought one for the third times, because I love it so. The newer ones are also nice, but this is...different. The colors, the size, the feeling... And yes, it's unbelievable, that it's 10 years old now!

    XT-1 itself created a briliant generation of photographers, because it was so easy to carry around vs heavy full frames/ dslr's, also the command dials were a game changer 👌🏻

    I, too, use the X-T1 and X100T and travel all over using them with zero issues. I’ve had all the Fuji cameras… and I chose only to stick with these two for the beautiful image quality and ease of editing the files. I also added an X100F Special Edition just because it is brown!😂(Absolutely lovely camera)! Great video and I love all your work. Thanks KM!!!🙏🙏🙏

    ~ DITTO‼️ I can, and have, owned & shot with other more modern, expensive, “advanced” Fujifilm cameras in the past, & wound up with my favorite pair, an X-T1 (in that nifty gun metal option they offered on this model) & an X-E2 (same Trans2 generation innards as the X-T1). As an old school shooter (half of my shooting is done with vintage manual lenses) who doesn’t give a hoot about video or sports/action photography, I’m not sacrificing much of anything by not having the latest/greatest, but I would be sacrificing the use of my favorite sensor if I traded “up” from the Trans2. Besides that, I like the way the X-T1 sits &weighs in my hand more so than the overblown later examples

    Hey, happy and healthy new year, Kentucky Man! Always enjoy your videos with real, non-upgraditis talk 👌🏼 I nearly bought an X-T1 recently, but went for an X-T2 in the end. I do agree that the colours and the texture of the X-Trans II seem nicer than the III, which in turn seem nicer then the IV. But build quality seems a bit higher on the X-T2 and I missed the familiar output of my former X-T20. Plus, for me, the improved AF is valuable at times. Rock that T1, man. All the best!

    I learned a lot with the X-T1. I found a deal that i couldn't pass up on an X-T4 with the 18-55mm F2.8-4, 35mm F1.4, 16mm F2.8, and 3 batteries for roughly the same price as a new X-T5 body over the weekend. Those were 3 lenses that i was already planning to get, too, and I was very close to pulling the trigger on an X-T5 as well. I volunteered myself to photoshoot my friend's family easter the day after i picked up the X-T4 and it went so well especially with burst shots. Battery life was also so much better and it only dropped to half. I even took shots later in the evening at my brother's place for Easter dinner of his little girl and still didnt need to change the battery. I would have never volunteered with the X-T1 with all those kids running around and I would have needed to swap out the battery at least once. I'll miss the X-T1 but sadly I have to let it go to a better home. I would keep it but I know that I won't use it as much anymore. I'm starting to enjoy a new side of being a bit more fast paced to see if i like doing events. There are so many positives on the X-T4 over the X-T1 for me; battery life, autofocus, dual card slots, the buffer, and I can start dabbling with 4K shooting.

I gave my X-T1 to my girlfriend but it has been itching me to get another one lately 😅 I still use these cameras on weddings and portrait shoots mixed up with my X-T2, 3 and 5 and i always prefer the pictures from the X-trans two sensor somehow they look more organic, less digital

    Oh hey, it's Korey! Glad to see you're doing well! X-T1 is a brilliant camera... but I didn't fall in love with it. For me there's something missing and I can't put my finger on what that is exactly. I still love my X-E3 though. I don't see any reason to upgrade other than to get X-T2 or X-Pro2 for dual cards and better EVF. The X-Trans III checks all the boxes for me and paired with XF 35/1.4 it's more or less everything I need. I wonder if Canon 5Dmk2 that I got myself for an absolute steal of a price could change that. Never had full frame before, maybe it'll manage to get me out shooting regularly again. (but still, I wouldn't even think to take that brick as a travel camera when I have my tiny fuji)

    Love this. I'm still on the search for a true pocket camera, though. I tried pairing my xt30 with a TTArtisans 25 f2. Still too big. I want something I can literally slip in my jeans pocket and forget about. (I'm considering the 27 pancake lens, but I doubt that'll be compact enough). Currently I'm using a canon power shot elph digicam I got practically for free from the Murphy's Camera bargain table to fill that role! But obviously has limitations. Any suggestions?

    I would suggest the Fuji X70 or Ricoh GR line. I've found that the X100 series is just too big to be truly pocketable. You can get away with it if you have cargo pockets or something, but something like the X70 or GR line will work better.

  • @raymeedc

    @raymeedc

    Yes, I chose an RX100 IV for those pocketable chore events. I first bought & wanted to live the legendary Ricoh for its larger sensor, but couldn’t deal with a camera without an EVF, couldn’t & actually didn’t want to get used to hit, for, as an old school shooter, taking shots without a finder is just not enjoyable for me, but EyE gave it a shot. Love The RX100 for what it is, tho, more versatile than the Ricoh fer sure, & the 1” sensor is surprisingly good 👌

    ~ P.S. - If the pocket of whatever I’m wearing on a day I’m using a “pocketable” won’t comfortably seat the camera, I attach a very small, just large enough to fit the camera, case I slip onto my belt. Practically unnoticeable for most intents & purposes & much more comfortable than carrying it around in your pocket….. just sayin’ (& doin’ 😊)
