A portion of one of the 1899 bridge portals was saved & set on the pedestrian bridge just west of the former Fox River crossing.

My God-father, mon cheri, who lived most of his life in Chicago, LOVED the C&NW ! If he, or I, had a problemme, we'd go and sit down the nearby train tracks...and talk.

One of those lines that frankly a lot of people ignored due to lack of painted Motive Power virtually no Rolling Stock of Their Own and sometimes shaky schedules. WC Far and Away was a classier operation so in a short 5 years FRVR was just a short blip on the radar. I would guess the UP control of the CNW north of Green Bay to the ore country was the only thing shorter

Doesn’t seem that long ago when CNW dominated Illinois and Iowa and Wisconsin Used to go see my grand parents in Iowa, and always watched the CNW everywhere in central iow Miss those days Good bit of the rail started getting removed then

Man, how things have changed these days...

Very good stuff Not familiar at all with this RR or the locale but the video definitely conveyed the emotion of a ….fond passage of time, if that makes sense.
