Btw that "gathering storm" joke was actually ALSO a reference itself for some people 😂 That's the name of one of the most influential spaceships in the universe of The Expanse (books), so I was like "is this some 3d chess or was he just making a joke with "gathering" because of MtG?" Myriad might be one of the best keyword ever printed in my opinion, and the fact that it lets you keep the temporary tokens you create during your combat phase makes it a fantastic card

If The War Doctor hits a player for lethal because of its ability, that player doesn't just lose that game of commander, they are exiled from playing the format altogether and must transition to Modern.

As a nerd that doesn't know Magic or Dr Who, its fun watching fun nerds have nerdy fun.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the fact that Ace calls the 7th Doctor "Professor". Just to be clear, in the other video when he's unboxing with Gavin, they do mention that fact.

Douglas adams also wrote doctor who episodes to fund hitch-hikers guide. Love the man!

Yes, two out of three make an appearance with characters and locations from Shada and City of Death. I haven't seen anything referencing The Pirate Planet in the decks, though.

​@@3nertiaArchenemy is usually played with pre-built 40 or 60 card decks that come in the Archenemy MTG product.(can't remember the amount of cards in each deck)It's meant to be like a board game experience for magic players with unique rules and cards(the archenemy gets scheme cards). It's a 4 player format 1 Archenemy and 3 member of Gatewatch. You can definitely play Archenemy in EDH but the player that is the Archenemy will need to have a more powerful deck to stand a chance against the others. I've played EDH Archenemy a handful of time and it's good fun.

Everyone was at the top of their banter game in this episode, but the star of the show has to be Teferi Magic as the Master. What a perfect villain voice! I was unabashedly rooting for the evil plan. Someday....

every single deck had a moment that made me go, "oh yeah, i really want to play that", that doesn't happen that often and i feel it really speaks to the design of the Doctor Who cards

I'd be very happy to see Teferi again, guy has so much charm!

Congrats to the Prof for organizing this stellar content! The design team also deserves major kudos for their outstanding work on these precons. The amount of new content in these decks will spoil us for years to come.

Loved Teferi's voice, specially wonderful for his villain arc! also loved Prof enjoying a UB product! I'm on the same boat that I wish Mtg focused more on Mtg lore but as long as they give us in universe versions of at least the most played stuff I'm happy people can enjoy the ips they are a fan of. I know nothing about Dr Who and still enjoyed this video thoroughly.

Tefari Magic was so fantastic in this episode. I want to see him guest on more Commander shows and get hired to do voice work, especially narrative TT-RPG stuff. Great episode all in all, loving the flavour & designs of the Doctor cards.

Gosh can we have Teferi more often? He is such a great guest and the voice! He really blew this episode out the window!

I have been getting into magic recently, and I love Dr Who. So when I saw everything about this universe beyond release, I knew I had to buy them. But I kept going back and forth on whether or not to spend the money. I’ve seen a lot of the cards in the decks at this point and I just can’t resist. I’m preordering the set of 4 decks and I am so excited to watch this video of them being used.

This was so much fun to watch. You could feel how everyone loved the show. Just four friends geeking out while playing together. Plus Teferi was excellent as The Master.

Great choice on the pair of commanders Professor. I love that they used the moment where Sophie/Ace actually smashed up a real Darlek prop as the artwork for her.

Not a doctor who fan, but i love how clearly excited everyone in this video is to play with these cards. Happy for you guys!

I love the episode where Teferi went back in time to become the Master and then got possessed by a Dalek. _Really_ didn't expect that Dalek voice. Good one!

The hitchhikers guide reference was more apt than they mentioned since Douglas Adams wrote some episodes of Doctor Who (2 of which are referenced in the Blast from the Past deck).

This is by far the dorkiest video of shuffle up and play. I enjoyed it immensely. It always enjoyable to watch a game of commander where everyone is having fun

Say what you will about Wizards and their design teams and releases, but Gavin is such an incredible boon to their business. Always smiling and pleasant, he's such a great representative for the game 🙌

All the sneaky little references make this episode amazing

Spoilers for episode! I'm so happy that the goofiest-sounding deck not only won, but made a truly unique board state with three different versions of the Doctor, some of which were cloned. It's actually so perfectly fitting because it looks like the Seventh Doctor is just playing silly games and bumbling about, only to become a mastermind who, with the assistance of another Doctor, amasses a massive board state. It's doubly perfect because he did so against The Master, Multiplied, assisted by Doctors both on the board and via Gavin. Yet another incredible Commander game, and one of the few I'd actually rewatch.

I love Teferimagic's small comments throughout. So in character and on point

Finally had time to sit down and watch! It was so fantastic!!!! and I can't want to play with my new pod soon.

This was the best episode so far. Everyone was having such a blast and it somehow made me even more excited for the Doctor Who decks. Gavin and his team really made something magical with good product! (Also shout out to Teferi Magic for absolutely crushing it as the Master)

This episode was an absolute treat! Everyone was so much fun and fed off each other's energy! It was so fun watching everyone have so much fun! I really hope this exact playgroup can enjoy more games on camera in the future! And I wanna say, Teferi's is my favorite sketch episode of the channel, with Spice8 Rack's auto-translation for Elish Norn as my second.

It's so refreshing seeing people so passionate about the work they do. WoTC putting experts in the room where game development is involved makes me want to support these sets. Wish RIOT games would do the same...

What a fantastic episode! I loved seeing the new Dr. Who cards in action, as well as the way the card can interact with those in my collection.
