My god, the way Sam made a comeback right at the end and finished Josh off was PURE FINESSE. Truly couldn't have asked for a more beautiful execution. Hats off, this is the Magic i'm subbed for!

When Jimmy said, “we should be about *here* I genuinely smiled because that was so creative and accurate.”

Rhystic Studies always makes Magic’s lore sound amazing, and always makes me appreciate the art on each card. So glad he got to be on the show!

Really enjoy the three unique KO's. Doubt they've ever had a storm, infect, and commander dmg kill in the same episode before.

So much better to see these kinds of wins than to see infinite combos. Great episode, one of my favorites in a long time.

This set has really re-energized my love of MTG's setting. Between Ajani and the weatherlight being Compleated or the death of Jaya or the new Coalition coming together the setting and story from just the art of the cards is so well done in this set. I haven't read the story since the WAR book fiasco but the one the cards are telling right now has really gotten me hooked again

Appreciate Jimmy's break of the 4th wall moments around 08:43 and 35:27! Very funny and creative! Cheers to whoever came up with the idea!

That was one of the best games I think I've seen on this show. So much player interaction, everyone got to do their thing, and I think this is the first game I've ever seen where each player died to something different.

I think it's because both Josh and Jimmy are in it together. We don't always get that lately since they opened the episodes to the rest of the crew. I love seeing the rest of the crew getting some air time but Jimmy and Josh have always had some great onscreen chemistry so I miss not seeing them all the time like we used to.

There are some guests that spend the whole time looking at the camera and making "cute" voices or just talking with their obnoxious KZread voice. Those people were not in this episode. The two guests remind me of people I generally play with.

When Josh casts Fury Storm, he could've used the copy of Fury Storm to make a copy of the original Fury Storm, then use the copy that's made by the resolution of the copy to copy the original Fury Storm again, etc. to make an arbitrary number of treasures and probably win. If nothing else, he could have killed Rachel then resolved a copy of Ruinous Ultimatum with a billion treasure tokens in play.

@@simonboucher5170 I see what you’re saying, but I feel like it was cool nonetheless. I doubt he built a deck that was any more busted or ambitious than his opponents’. It just happened to work out really well, and faster than what his opponents were doing this time around. The only busted card I would say he played was dockside, everything else was pretty tame. It just looked like things came together really well.

In real life after such a combo starts to go down we would shuffle and play a new game so the other peoples don't look at one player take his turn for 15min. And that also doesn't include the fact that he played during other players turns. In my opinion, when that happens, i'm happy when that person loses in the end.

@@simonboucher5170 I can respect that, my group would do something similar. But that obviously that isn’t an option on a stage like their’s. Their goal is to portray an entertaining game with unique decks and plays, and I think they succeeded in that. Also, it’s relevant that he wasn’t really combo-ing. If you shuffle up for a new game every time someone’s wheels start turning, you miss out on some fun stuff! Such as upsets like this one where Josh didn’t even end up winning, despite the crazy plays!

Everyone at the table: "I have this cool low-mid lands matter deck, I have this cool low-mid legends matter deck, I have this cool low-mid lifegain=card draw" Josh:"but what if I do combo storm?"

I mean if they were playing more interaction that game would have looked very different. Point a plowshares at tor wauki, or really any part of the treasure engine and that game looks very different. The tor wauki deck is the strongest of the 4, but it's not by a large margin either. It's simply that he wasn't really interacted with imo

@@spudster8887 Yeah they really need to start playing some more instant speed removal, even if it were to just show new players what a good deck looks like / in case someone just copied their decks. Between Josh's 3 opponents I only counted 7 ways to interact with someone at instant speed. Jimmy has exactly 1 piece of instant speed removal, which is way too low and will often lead to these situations where you just hope someone else can do something while casting stuff with no impact.

Absolutely the best game EVER! Teaches a lot, demonstrates various strategies and tactics. A true masterpiece!

Shoutouts to whoever made that Soul of Windgrace focus shot. That was sweet with the voice in there for extra flavor. That edit makes me want to apply for that editor spot and learn to do this.

I felt so much of sams style in his videos in this episode of game knights. His voice is so hypnotic and calming and airs a feeling of relaxation.

55:00 its funny how life gain is often considered low tier in power but moments like these show you at certain points life is the most valuable resource in EDH.

That was an amazing game to watch. Josh was insanely brutal and was a force to be reckoned with. I guess you could say Josh was the real phyrexian sleeper agent with all that infect damage. Great game guys.

Rachel is probably my favorite mtg personality. Thank you for having her for this, it was wonderful.

While I think that'd be dope, I think from a rules perspective it doesn't work because the copy and the original enter the stack at the same time, and both need valid targets to cast. Since Fury Storm isn't on the stack when you would need to declare targets, the copy also couldn't target it since they enter at the same time. It would be pretty awesome, but a 1-card infinite combo would be a little too nutty.

@@TheDualGamers1000 The copy is created on the stack, so it’s not “cast.” Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won’t trigger. This means, for example, that Fury Storm’s copies may target Fury Storm itself, but this won’t trigger the copy’s “when you cast this spell” ability, and it won’t increase the number of copies of other spells you end up with. (2018-07-13)

That was so tense! When Josh was attempting to take down Rachel in response to her ultimatum it was absolutely nail-biting! Great episode, kudos to the editors for cutting those big moments together really well!

So bad there was a combo storm deck at this table ... Didn t enjoy watching Josh playing Alone ... Wish i could see more of the 3 others decks. (Was really hyped about the mardu légend😭)

Agreed, it was incredibly dissatisfying to watch him combo kill nearly everyone before they really did much of anything. Thankfully he received his just desserts at the end of it.

Josh playing solitaire has become pretty much as much of a staple of GK as Sol Ring.

It's nice to see Kederect Parasite getting some play time. I've had it in my binder for ages wanting to use it!

This is by far my favorite episode yet. Rhystic Studies playing the game just like how I play, piloting Soul of Windgrace (Windgrace is my favorite card) and then he really came in clutch in the end!

Love Rhystic Studies, don't think I've ever seen him so animated though! Also sidenote, I'm really happy to see you hiring for junior/entry level positions. So many companies just want people all ready to go and it's a shame.

Wow, this was such an entertaining game! Thank you for getting Rhystic Studies on the channel and just, giving us such a wonderful show of a game. SPOILERS HOLY SHIT! SOMEONE KILLED JOSH LEE KWAI WITH COMMANDER DAMAGE!!!! ON CAMERA!!!! After years of hearing him say he's hardly died to Commander damage, we finally get to see him eat his words.

THAT was absolutely 100% the BEST episode of Game Knights I have seen to date!!! Way to go EVERYBODY!!! Especially Sam!!!

So happy to finally see Sam on cam but, boy did he have a rough go at it.

This episode was a blast! Great guests, great hosts, great GAME!!!

Also I like to thank you guys for your content it got me into commander and I may not have a physical deck but I've been playing it online with my friends all the time and having a blast
