About The Fosters:
“The Fosters” is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of adopted and biological teenaged kids being raised by two moms. Stef Adams Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her wife, Lena Adams Foster, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon; their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus; and newly adopted siblings, Jude, and his half-sister, Callie. As the third season of “The Fosters” continues, former foster teen Callie is now officially adopted into the Adams Foster family. She must put aside any romantic feelings for Brandon and does so by throwing herself into her “Fost and Found” website, even drawing the interest of an investor. After his performance at Disney Hall, Brandon focuses his energy on his music, working with Mat on a musical for their senior project. Mariana’s relationship with Mat is still estranged, so she turns her attention toward running for junior class president. Jesus makes a friend who is into street racing and, at his prompting, questions Ana about his biological father. When Mike discovers a secret that his foster son AJ is keeping, he is torn about what to do with the information. Jude must face the fact that his boyfriend has decided to move away while a serious medical issue for Stef results in a clash of opinions between her wife, Lena, and her mother, Sharon. Winner of a Television Academy Honors Award and GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

"You are not disposable." One of the most powerful lines ever written on television. I feel like thats somethinf every foster child, every child in a loving home, just everyone needs to hear that said to them atleast once because people do need to understand that they are not disposable. They can't be thrown away, they can't be discarded like a empty can of soda. They have meaning, and a purpose in life. Whether they know what that purpose is or if they are still searching for it. People matter. To whoever is reading this, you are not disposable. You have a purpose, and a voice, and you are not alone. You cannot be thrown out like garbage and you cannot be replaced. You matter. I am here for you, Im proud of you, and I love you. You are enough. But most importantly, *You are not disposable*

It takes time to get over past . Callie was abused and told she was worthless it hard to trust and switch gears . She had to be the mother figure to Jude all his life until he got with Stef and Lena . Callie only flaw is she needs to learn to value herself and make better choices to help people in need . Until you are in Callie shoes you shouldn't judge .

And processing trauma takes time. Your brain doesn't do it until it feels safe enough too. Which can be YEARS after the fact. I've been in a couple bad spots and had some debilitating injuries that I'm still recovering from physically. I haven't even really started to process everything emotionally cuz it all happened in the span of a few years. My brain hasn't had time to catch up yet. Callie went through a ton more trauma over a lot more of her life. The fact that she feels safe enough with Lena and Steph TO act out is proof that she's starting to deal with her shit. But that takes time and is hard. And will probably take her well through the next series and hit her at random times. And she'll be in a good place for a while and then all of a sudden she won't be cuz her brain will be like "oh, you're safe now? Ok, time to deal with getting assaulted/arrested/friend almost getting deported/abandonment issues/brother getting abused/etc

It definitely sucks what she has been through, yes. She lost her mother, she's been sent to many different homes, she was groomed at 15 yet she was able to get past all the bad stuff that's happened, but I will say there were definitely a lot that she caused on her own she brought upon herself. I definitely feel sorry for her but Stef and Lena had a point that it was time for her to stop dwelling through everything she had to cope with as she was able to change things around as she was able to get justice and find her way to a much better life.

For those who are giving Callie a hard time, give her a break. She's been through so much. She lost a parent, got raped by her foster brother, got blamed for being raped by him, got thrown around from one foster home to another, got treated like she's worthless, then found out the man who she thought was her father isn't even her father, and didn't even know about her and her brother who she had to basically raise is actually her half brother. When you get treated like your worthless, you begin to believe you are. Callie felt like she had so much responsibility and weight on her shoulders

"That's not what I meant." "But it's what you said." This. Especially considering Callie's past, vague phrases like, "this girl is unacceptable" could so easily be misunderstood to mean, "you are unacceptable" or "I don't accept you." I'm sure that logically, Callie knew Stef was referencing Russell, but did the side of Callie that spent 6 years hearing very similar things from abusive families know that?

I really dont understand why people dislike Callie so much. People say that she gets in trouble way too much and that shes a bad person. But Callie only gets in trouble so much because shes thinking of the people she loved first before herself. Callie isnt a bad person, shes just someone trying to do the right thing but going about it the wrong way. Callie is a really good person. Shes a great sister, a great person, and a great mother figure. Callie has been through so much crap and is still so successful in life. She got through school, went to law school, and became a lawyer. So until youve been through as much as Callie, cut the girl some slack and shut up because you have nothing bad to say about her.

To all of you writing the worst about Callie... It will take her time to grow up (her character). She's been through a lot, those things affect you and it is not easy to set it back and just forget about it. Also, the show is written in a way where even though she might "get better" in the future or takes more time to care for herself, there will always be these "what's wrong with you Callie" moments. The show is written the way the writers want to portray the story... for themselves... not for you. And they're making their millions so your opinion doesn't matter... not anymore.

^^ Trauma takes time to heal from. And your brain often won't let you process it until it feels safe enough to do so. Often year's after the initial incident. The fact that Callie subconsciously feels safe enough to act out is a good thing. Or at least a sign that she's starting to process her past trauma. And that process can take years. especially with how much of her childhood is wrapped up in it.

Why is everyone hating on Callie so much? Was what she did stupid? Yes monumentally so but her intentions were coming from a good place. She was just trying to help her friend and she knew that Stef would find her no matter what. And one other thing, I don't understand why everyone is all "poor Robert." I understand that he just wants a relationship with her but the relationship he expects to have is illogical. Yes he is her biological father but Stef and Lena are her parents, they are the ones she loves and trusts. And I completely understand why she thought that Robert used his money and status to get her into art school, I know that's not what he actually did but it definitely looked like it.

You are 100% correct Robert really didn't seem to care about Callie until she was about to get Adopted and tried everything he could to stop that and using his money to impress her is not going to work Donald was the only father she knew and has raised her since she was 10 and he also Mentioned that once Callie mom got pregnant with her he took off and started his own family so he knew about it and decided to leave cause he was afraid that his family would do something that's why he took off cause he wasn't Man enough to stick around that's not what a father does

Callie is the strongest young woman ever. She has been through so much, A lot of bad stuff happened to her. Her mother was killed when she was little, her dad went to prison, bounced around one foster home to the next. She was raped and beaten. She just wants to help everyone she can. Callie deserves a break.

Wow. If I were Robert, I'd straight up send Callie a letter and tell her, "Look, I've tried everything, but you obviously don't want me in your life. I am done trying. If you change your mind, great. If not, don't write back." If I were him, I'd be sick and tired of putting myself out there. I've felt like him so many times (granted, I'm only a few years older than Callie and not a parent yet) but still, it's so heartbreaking that she's allowed to get away with this behavior and be rewarded for it...

He is not her parent. All she just wanted from him in the first place was his signature so she could get adopted. He forced her to stay in touch with her. He is not a bad guy, but you can't except that Callie sees him the same way she sees her mums.

Originella I agree with maret83 she just needs time and she was in foster most of her life and didn't think that he cared for her but now he's here and she already has her parents, but he's in her life now and content, but also see that he knows in that last scene that he'll never be her parents but he's in her life

Maret83 don't presume to know my opinions on Callie, thank you very much. I don't expect Callie to consider Robert the same way as she does Stef and Lena. However, he has said that he is not her parent, yet Callie does seem to want a relationship with him. If she hadn't, she would have said so -- she hasn't. Once he signed the papers, she seemed all right with having him in her life.

he's not tried everything. As a parent you dont give up, and you wonder why Callie constantly believes that one day it'll be too much to cope with and she'll be left alone..? I mean you cant really comment on Robert as a dad, he's barely been in the show since season 2 or whatever, how are we to know what they're relationship is like between episodes? And anyway a guy you've known for a year, even if its not his fault would be hard to accept as a dad

Have you not noticed that most of her getting in trouble was for other people? I think it's not just learning that she has value but learning that it's okay to put you're life and safety before someone else's. I think she spent too long feeling like a victim and really believing that it didn't matter if she died. Callie clearly had issues before she came to the Fosters and although she's been helped so much, so much was also dug back up at the same time. I'd be nice to see her have a real sit down with someone or herself about why she does it and just really come to terms with everything because she doesn't get to stop and breath.

Abuse isn't something that someone forgets & u can't just pretend that it never happened. Unless you've been where she's been in life then hush your mouth up. I'm a domestic violence survivor & a rape survivor & a child abuse survivor & I'm still healing & recovering from it all & on top of that I struggle with a major depression disorder & severe anxiety & PTSD & chronic pain & I also have nightmares & flashbacks. angelcreature13 well she was in multiple fosters homes many of which were abusing and she was raped in one and sfter bad event after bad event you start to get trust issues. And she tries not to ket herself feel that pain again so she just tries to tell herself that this family is not permeant. In a way she takes things from herself. And trust issues is not really something that just kinda goes away. I mean if you have trust issues you are most likely going to have them for a while if not a while for your whole life.

If you all want to play who's the better parent to Callie since the begging of the series Stef and Callie have formed a mother daughter bond despite everything that Callie has went though Stef was always right there beside her helping her and comforting her and has her best interest at heart Then when Callie thought that Donald was her and Jude's dad it turned out that he wasn't Callie's dad that had a had a huge affect on her and Jude Jude didn't want to get adopted without her and he eventually stoped talking for awhile but Callie told him that she would be ok and she wanted him to be Officially Adopted and it took a really long time for the Fosters to officially adopt Callie cause Robert had to sue for Custody and didn't care what Callie wanted he just thought of himself and did everything he could to take Callie away from her family and where she felt more Secure the only reason he dropped the Coustdy battle is because he didn't want to be like his father and tear apart a family

The writers definitely weighed the show down too much with drama and it all rode on the back of Callie. This isn't a crime drama - it's a family drama. Most kids don't go through the stuff they went through. I can see them throwing in those heavy storylines bits at a time but to have them happen one after the other CONSTANTLY? They got away from what I liked about the show: love and positivity. Watching the show started to frustrate and bum me out it was so dark all the time.

agreed. some of the callie stuff i understand because its connected to her fragile state of being in the foster system. But a lot of it is just pure melodrama that is so over the top- Stef's cancer, car crash, gun at school then being stalked in home, brain injuries, biological family staying in your home... and not to mention the most unbelievable thing- that Brandon is able to get hot girlfriend after hot girlfriend, HOW? :P but yeah i liked the first couple of seasons, but the show is getting a bit insane and has drifted further and further away from those core values. When was the last time any of the siblings even had a conversation with another. Has Callie and jesus ever had any dialogue between them..?

Robert loved Callie, and she should have gone to live with him. I'm all for adoption but when the biological parents feel they can't be the best parents. Robert wanted Callie, she should have gone to live with him.

I really wish Callie would have gave Robert a chance. I know he's missed out on everything in her life knowing he had no idea she existed and he is really wanting to do so much as he can for her as he is her father and it is sad she wants nothing to do with him. I know he tried to fight for full custody of wanting her and at the same time he had every right because he was indeed the only real family she had, and I know Robert would've done so much for her as she wouldn't have to worry about anything. I know she didn't like the idea of him being rich and knowing he had money he made sure he would be able to provide for his family as he was able to make things happen that he worked for which is something many would also do to raise their kids in a good stable environment. Stef and Lena really did a wonderful job taking care of her and Jude along with Brandon, Jesus and Mariana as they really were good people with loving hearts as they made sure she would be kept safe and protected knowing how much she has been through. Callie was pushing Robert out of her life and he was trying to his best to make up for so many lost times which is something a real father who doesn't know his child is willing to do as he showed he cared for her deeply and she still treated him like nothing.
