It wasn’t necessarily that they hated each other, they were both really annoyed, like Callie was mad at life in general and Marianna was always being super bitchy and was always pissed at Callie scared that she would expose her or something, but it’s really her own fault for doing all that bad and sneaky shit. Edit: I say this cause imo when someone says two people hate each other it’s usually equal and for similar or aligned reasons but with them is wasn’t, and most of it was from Marianna The thing is though Marianna was a very toxic and problematic character. She got better as time went on but she had a tendency of being self-absorbed and projecting her problems and mistakes onto others and victimizing herself when she was really at fault.

Callie was the worst on making decisions and always did some dumb stuff but I honestly didn't hate her as much as I hated marianna

She’s the older sister, so at that time he was probably only thinking, “she’s older now, why hasn’t she learned from the past? Why is she getting with another foster brother? Why isn’t she being safer this time?” He looks up to her and so when she makes mistakes or makes the same mistakes he gets mad, because he doesn’t understand why the same things are happening all over again. At least that’s how I looked at it.

callies speech about ximena being an american is the reason i started watching the fosters, i love that moment so much, the fosters/ the good trouble is by far one of the most underrated shows i’ve come across. Callie Quinn Adams Foster is probably my favourite character on all of TV, i hate how she’s the most selfless person and yet somehow still always labelled selfish and hypocritical by everyone every time THEY do something wrong or are scared

Gardenia fair point, i can see why people could think that, at the same time though it would’ve been a HUGE risk for Ximena to have put the spotlight on everything herself and publicly made those statements. there is definitely a very fine line between being passionate about being a valuable ally and having a white saviour complex

I love how Callie is never the perfect anything, never a perfect person, daughter, sister, friend, or girlfriend but she remains at her core a kind and considerate person, shes always thinking of other people even if it'll get herself in trouble.

Callie in the FOSTERS is SO much better than her in GOOD TROUBLE. Maybe it's just the storylines. Maia does a great job with the American accent. Maybe she lost her Australian. Love her scenes. Being fostered , I can relate to CALLIE'S situations.

She didn't lose it, she just took lessons to speak without it. Kevin McKidd and Camilla Luddington both are the same way on Grey's Anatomy. There are A TON of actors and actresses that learned to speak without their natural accent, but can turn it on and off just like that.

Okay but the amount of messages and topics that Callie(and this show) have brought light to is just incredible.

I watched this show as a teenager growing up and it's really interesting seeing videos like this because I remember the fandom *hating* Callie and her reckless actions when the show was airing. Maybe I should rewatch to get a fresh perspective but I think there was definitely times when Callie was just plain hypocritical to call anyone out, but hey, that whole family was a mess so meh 🤷 loved the video anyway 😂

It’s so funny hearing grown ass adults shame children for being reckless. Callie’s parents died and she had to ensure her kid brother’s safety. Mariana was neglected almost to the point of death as an infant and toddler. Brandon doesn’t have much of an excuse, but he’s still a dumb teenager in a house full of adopted kids. Adults love to say that these middle/high school age kids are shitty people for making childhood mistakes and maybe I didn’t make those same mistakes, but I also didn’t grow up in the foster system not knowing if I’d get a meal today

The only reason I cannot watch the fosters anymore was because of Brandon. He was tolerable the first couple seasons, but when he literally gave up his dream life for a random girl and her kid, and then didn't listen to anyone, and ended up blaming it on those who warned him, is what made me really hate him. And even after Callie was in loving and healthy relationships with other guys, he still had the audacity to get upset with her and ruin the relationships. He was just a big whiny baby. Even his own parents couldn't stand him. The only time I started to like him was around the time he started dating Grace.

I don’t remember a whole lot from this show but the way Brandon treated Callie always pissed me off. Yeah, they had mutual feelings, but Callie was saying from the beginning that she didn’t want to pursue a relationship because it would screw up what was probably her last chance of getting a family. Brandon just kept pushing and pushing, and sometimes she went with it but she said on several occasions that she ultimately didn’t think it was a good idea and it would screw both of them over.

And this is why she will ALWAYS be my favorite character.
