    Steel Vengeance definitely lives up to the hype. I thought people were getting too excited over it at first, but after riding it 3 times I can say without a doubt that it’s the best coaster I’ve ever ridden.

    Eilonwy Hewlett One year, I saw the witches’ wheel, I was too young and too short but the following year i would be able to ride. The next year it was closed down for a restaurant. I really wanted to ride it judging by the outside view. Last year at Halloweekends I saw the tombstone for it when my mom and I were heading back to the hotel after I rode the Raptor. RIP WITCHES’ WHEEL

    I agree 100%. It was a fun ride. Loved getting out of the sun into a really nice air conditioned building and....we get to ride a pretty fun ride! I do not like gate keeper. It was very rocky to me and did not deliever on anything I expected. I wish they would, and still can CP....wink wink, build a faster and taller indoor roller coaster. I am so sad they are getting rid of Wicked Twister. One of my favorite rides. That was my son's first roller coster and now it is going away. They better, and I mean BETTER, have a good reason for taking it down. I know they are replacing it. But all truth, I rather them get ride of mine ride and put Wicked Twister or the new roller coster in that place. Sorry, but that ride is worthless. Unlike Blue Streak, which is a historic gem that still thrills, this ride does nothing and is pathetic. I hope they get ride of that and put in a real mine ride. I love the concept, but I don't feel like I am really going through a mine. I feel like I am riding a slow ass roller coaster outdoors. Get rid of that!!

    Wicked Twister. Opened in 2002, Closed in 2021. This Intamin Impulse coaster has 2 vertical twisting spikes, the first of its kind. It was just over 200ft tall, and was located along side the beach on the east side of the park. This was one of 5 Intamin coasters in the park, but this number is now 4. This ride offered a thrilling and adrenaline rushing experience. What will replace it? Who knows, but this record braking coaster will not be forgotten. For Cedar Points 150th Anniversary, something big is coming, and I can’t wait to what is in store for the 2022-23 Season. Anyone like my impersonation?

    I rode the Jumbo Jet once before it left the park. I was pretty young (12 or 13) and hadn't developed a stomach for the coasters yet. With the opening of the Corkscrew and Gemini at Cedar Point, and the Double Loop at Geauga Lake, I became hooked on coasters! Despite the Mean Streak's rough ride, it was one of my favorites. I always made sure to keep a pack of aspirin in my pocket, just in case. I usually got a headache every time I rode it.

    I was recently having a conversation with my grandmother who remembers some of the coasters from the 60s-early 2000s of Cedar Point before she stopped riding coasters. She had mentioned Broadway Trip, Scamper, Wild Mouse, both Wildcats, Jumbo Jet, Mantis, Disaster Transport, and Mean Streak. I had remembered the latter three from my first few trips to CP, but I never rode them since I wasn’t tall enough 😂. That’s besides the point though. Great video, very informative.

  • @briannabrittany3127
    @briannabrittany31275 жыл бұрын

    I grew up 45 minutes from there and went all the time in the summer. Locals knew the best days to go were on a Monday, or in the afternoon after a slightly rainy morning. The lines were negligible at those times. The Jumbo Jet was a good ride, part of the fun was the long circular ride to the top getting higher and higher on each turn, and like he says, the view of Lake Erie, and then that last climbing turn when you were finally out in the open, and away from the steel frame. Mean Streak looked so impressive, but man was that ever a rough ride. You just wanted it to be over. I got stuck on the Wildcat once and we saddled in one of the valleys, just sat there until they came and hauled us out. Mantis was just lame, a waste of time to stand in line for that. Even with all the more modern types of rides, the Blue Streak is still an awesome coaster. Those little bumps give great air time, especially that one right at the bottom of the first drop. That's a classic coaster worth anybody's time. Sit in the back seat for the best air time. Great ride.

    The Mantis was fantastically brutal the first two years it was open. Your legs would be like rubber when you got off. Then they added trim brakes to it and it became a moderate ride. The trick to a fun experience as a dude was to bend your knees slightly before the car locked into place. This way you had a few inches between the seat and your junk.

    I worked at CP the summers of 98 and 99. In 98, I stood at a little cart near the train tracks where the train passes through right beside mean streak. I watched that coaster day after day all summer long. In the part of the video where you talk about wild cat, I lived in the Cedar dorms right beside that coaster. Working at CP was the best experience of my whole life. Thank you so much for making this video.

    It's a testament to how long it's been since I've been to Cedar Point that I didn't even realize the Wildcat was gone, lol. And I'll definitely miss Disaster Transport for nostalgia reasons. That being said, good riddance to the standing cars of the Mantis. The most common thing you'd hear coming off that ride was some variation of "Oh God, my legs!"

It'll be a really sad day if they ever decide to close the Blue Streak. It's not new, but it's got some great air time. It's fun and it has a really important part in the park's history.

    I liked the mantis better than rougarou. stand up coasters are a unique experience and they're becoming more and more endangered. also, it was much better as a standup coaster. the layout has lots of very fast paced and forceful elements that just don't work for a floorless coaster. with the new trains it feels way too forceful and there are a couple sharp turns that slam your head against the side of the restraints. it's still a good coaster, but prepare to vomit and pass out if you ride it multiple times.

    I’m glad I got to ride wild cat, disaster transport, mantis and mean streak before they were removed or changed! Although I do love seeing new attractions at the park!

    Hope Campbell Those are all the defunct ones that I've ridden too. I did also ride the original outdoor bobsled coaster before they enclosed it and changed it to disaster transport.

    Just That Guy The employees referred to the Wild Cat as the Death Kitty... pretty accident prone. I live in Toledo, I've known several people who have worked there over the years.

    I rode Wild Rails at ValleyFair in the 80's. When you talked about Wild Cat I could see the name Wild Rails on it at it's ValleyFair location. They later called it The Rails & then replaced it with Mad Mouse, a newer mouse ride, then took that out over the years.

    I rode most of those coasters before they removed them. Wild Cat was an awesome little coaster and when visiting Cedar Point, if it wasn't too crowded, the operators would let us continuously ride it over and over again. We might have set a record one weekend when we road it 25 times in a row with out getting out of our seats. Mantis was meh. I won't miss it. I'll miss Disaster Transport. That was a blast. However Mean Streak was a violent ride and I have bad memories of it.
