Naming a ship Odyssey is asking the universe to leave you stranded or lost. Just like naming a ship Invincible or similar.

@@johncunningham4820 The Odyssey is a tale by Homer, where Odysseus (Ulises) got lost for 10 years, lost all his crew and got home just as his wife was about to marry another man. Often in fiction ships named Odyssey get lost or go through harrowing journeys.

Nake it a drinking game. I am sick of that word after watching a few of these types of stories. Also, the overly descriptive nature of mundane things like the person being in charge: "...she ordered, resonating with authority and curiosity". It's always the same c-class writing.

Is this narrated by a human or is this AI? My wife are arguing.

As a fan of audio sci fi stories I've heard this exact same voice on a good number of different sites, so I think it has to be an AI. A voice actor would like their work to be linked together. Voice actors are not as mechanically monotone as this. They also usually set up a pseudonym, which this and other AI sites typically lack. One thing to look for is an AI will typically pronounce a word only one way, no matter the context. For example, Intersteller Roadtripper always pronounces "yea" as "yay" and never "yeah", and as such sounds like a wierdo every time it hits that word. If the stories continue, you may find such a tell here too.

Murray Leinster wrote this in like 1954. People screaming “waaaah AI” can go read the short story yourselves if you don’t like the computer voice. Speeding it up makes it sound like Tuvok
