Minas Morgul is a strategic choke point & the only pass in Ephel Duath, the Mountains of Shadow, that separate Gondor from Mordor. If this fort was taken then Mordor would have no way to send any force large enough to invade Gondor & would instead have to march all the way around the entire mountain range through the Black Gate

This is very lore accurate. The only reason Saruman lost the Battle for Helms Deeps because he couldn't capture the command posts

Command points just represent focal points of the battle where the flow of battle is decided by a specific skirmish.

My most vivid memory of this game was attacking the Shire on the evil campaign, I finally got enough points for Sauron. Spawned as him and immediately got instakilled by an Eagle. I spawned, took like 3 steps and it swooped past and carried me off. I wasn't even mad.

I love how Frodo is the most broken hero in the game. U can literally back stab Sauron to death no problem. U become invisible, u can fight while invisible and if u get behind any hero, u can instakill them with back stab.

Frodo not really that broken. You can play as the non hero version of the assassin and still win.

The only time I ever saw my father cry was when we saw Return of the King in the cinema and the scene came on where Frodo is hoisted into the air by the Nazgul and drops 50ft in a T-pose to his death.

One of my favorite memories was my friend becoming Sauron in the Shire on the evil campaign only to instantly get grabbed by an eagle and die.

I never understood why this game sort of fell under the radar. It’s an ingenious idea to make a Lord of the Rings game in the style of Battlefront, and it really feels like you’re in the movies.

The dudes that made Chivalry made a game like that based on ancient Persia, but unfortunately it has been canned.

As someone who played the shit out of Conquest, spam abilities. They're busted. Particularly the fire circle from the mages, just melts fodder.

This game was actually awesome, they totally recreated locations from the movies perfectly. They had secret moves you could do as hero units and This game wasn't forgotten the online servers got pulled for battlefield 3. I was like 5-20th on the leaderboards when the servers died :'(

@@khajiitimanus7432 There are "bosses" like sarumon in some of the missions that can be gimmicked for maximum entertainment, like the witch king or elrond

"Where's the first book." There weren't any large scale battles in the first book. The biggest battles in Fellowship of the Ring had only 9 people (i.e. the "fellowship") on the side of the good guys.

They actually can make defence of Lothlorien against goblins and trolls, so you can fight as Lorien elves, also add some elves or rangers on Among Hen vs Uruk-Hai. EA made those battles in Battle for Middle Earth campaign and here they also can do that.

Ive been deceived! Its amusing, yes,...but im still deceived! But seriously tho, i really wished it *was* ClassicFront2 mod. Just the imagery of Gandalf running to the frontlines with a clone blaster in hand, gunning down orc equivalents and exchanging fire with -Dooku- Saruman is....mh 👌 Top shelf. (I didnt even know this game exist tbh. Maybe worth looking a playthru for it, just for that t-posing Frodo falling to his demise. lul)

Man there are so many great meta jokes in here. My favourite was ''Did you know that I broke my toe when I kicked that helmet?''

all I remember from this game is that it changes the lore so some unnamed assassin guy backstabs all of the main enemies instead of anyone significant fighting them

I completely lost it when the Witch King steals Frodo and it just pans to Frodo falling to death.

If the good guys have this, I can only imagine what sort of devilry Sauron would come up with. Imagine suicide trolls and nazgul dropping napalm. Barad-dur would be a missile silo with ICBMs.

I didn’t forget this game. I own a copy. Still play it now and then. Wish it had more to the game. Like a Conquest mode like Battlefront where you chose a faction and conquer Middle-Earth for Sauron or Liberate it and you can make multiple armies to lead with their own individual leaders you play as or your own custom character.

When I was 8, I saw this game selling at Office Deport of all places, and I thought "Man how cool would it be if it was just Battlefront 2 but Lord of the Rings... but it probably isn't. I remember me and my brother getting HEATED during split screen PVP of this game, we would do Hero battles with no AI, only scout on this one map that was basically a dark hallway with destroyed pillars in it and a pit of fire on one end and try and stab each other in the back.

I played this game to death with my brothers as a teenager. Definitely a flawed game, but it’ll always hold a special place in my cold, dead heart.

I will say though that the melee combat is far better than Jedis in BF2

“Forgotten“ I literally played this just a few days ago and it always was kind of one of my favorite LOTR games

This was like my favorite game back in the day bro, so underrated: deserves a remaster

The fact that I have never seen you use special powers hurt me greatly. Most heroes are really fun just going full zerg with maxed special bar :)

I remember using the nazgul to hunt down Frodo and I pegged him in the head with the throwing axe right when he was about to toss the ring. I knocked him off the cliff, which would mean he and the ring fell in to the lava, so lore wise I lost the level 😆. Gameplay wise I won.

**Legolas runs in to an oliphaunt's leg and fucking dies** That still only counts as one!

Brings back memories messing around in pvp gamemodes with my sister and having a blast. Remember the balancing being super off but was good enough for it to be one of our favorites to play together.

Lost but not forgotten I will forever remember this as an amazing game

I don’t know why people who do gameplay videos always suck at playing games. This dude plays on the easiest difficulty too. Dying so many times on the easiest difficulty is something even a 10 year old wouldn’t do. 7:23 GoT season 8 in a nutshell

This was such a fun game to play on Xbox Live. I used to know how to get out of all the maps and explore the outer boundaries. You could use a warrior and if you did an air attack just right you could enter whole new sections of Minas Tirth that were not normally accessible.

My buddy and I played the Isengard level a couple of months ago. At the end we baited Saruman out of the tower to see if the AI ents would pick him up and throw him. They did not, in fact he murdered like 70 of our guys (ents included) before we got bored and killed him ourselves.

Oh my god, I remember playing this at my mom's friends house. Her son had a xbox that I played this on, And never knew the name of it. It stuck with me for a long time for whatever reason. This video just helped me solve an old mystery. Damn, thanks

Played this all the time growing with my brother, such good memories

I remember playing this against all my friend in split screen and then playing solo I loved playing as that specific type of troll with the armor on lol

I hope one day they make an Ancient Rome themed game like this

+Helix Moss Plenty to choose from during the civil war. Caesar, Pompey, Mark Antony, Cleopatra maybe. Could probably include Boudicca or Vercingetorix for one of the alternate campaigns against the Romans. I'd actually really like to play as Alaric or someone while sacking Rome with the Germanic tribes too, that'd be cool. Probably should have a side campaign in Judea too, then you can play as Jesus in the later part and get the game banned in certain countries for blasphemy.

Dynasty Warriors, Roman edition. Really, I think anything can be turned into a musou-esque game with enough time and effort.

Man Mount and Blade can really do the trick with a proper mod

I still have the disk to this... I used to play this all the time with my neighbor. such great memories!

Love how he was like, this is hard, and wasn't using any of his abilities in the first level

I PLAYED THIS ALL THE TIME WITH MY FRIEND. Good campaign is not as fun, but in the mines of moria you can watch everyone "Rally at THE STAIRS!" Only to push each other off and jump to their dooms. Sad music and everything plays its amazing. Also, makes were so op and out of place I loved it. Rogues too! Ever seen sauroman or Gandalf just get decked by a dude with a dagger? It's amazing.

I never forgot this game. It was so epic. Such a cool concept.

I LOVED this game. I remember playing it when I was very little. Never knew how to do the multiplayer options, thus never could play so. However I had great fun playing with the AI. About a year ago, I revisited the game and completed both Good and Evil campaigns. 10/10

Having just played MW2 again a few weeks ago, this reference was funny as hell.

I loved this game. I was responsible for discovering several popular out-of-bound glitches, with my most cherished accomplishment being at the black gate. Spam a move that pushes you forward (easiest with Legolas's shield surf or a warrior rush, with you needing to be attacked to glitch in if other class). You want to press your character's body into the pointed metal triangles just beside the gate in the nearby rockside.

I remember this game! I played local co-op so much when I was in middle school.

I never forgot this game, whenever I think of a LOTR game I think of this. This is how a LOTR game should be!
