The new Mustang Mach-E GT is the high-performance version of Ford's already succesful first venture into the EV marketplace. With 480 HP and 634 lb/ft of torque, AWD, and magnetic ride suspension, you know it's going to be quick. And with styling updates, better seats, and new materials, it's got visual and practical improvements to boot. But at nearly $70,000 as tested, will Matt have regrets over the "regular" Mach-E he already owns?
How is Matt liking his personal Mach-E? Find out here!

I hope Ford is listening because that upgraded seats, mag ride, smaller wheels, higher profile tire setup is exactly what I'd want as well. And YES, makers of EVs, STOP putting frequently used functions into touch screens! Sure it's cost effective and (for now) it's perceived to be high end but it's bad human factors for driving.

@@Birdsaregovspys6969 I am not anti-touch screen, I am anti "put everything in a touch screen." I will argue that well placed buttons and dials that are dedicated to actuate the most commonly used functions in any automobile are far less dangerous than embedding them into a touch screen. Reasons why: 1) At 70mph/112kph, a driver is traveling over 100ft/30m per second. If it takes only 3 seconds for a driver to divert their attention to actuate something, they have traveled the distance of about three football pitches or about a 30 story building on its side. The more time it takes to negotiate with a touch screen, the less time that driver is tending to the business of driving. 2) As a driver becomes accustomed to their interior, even a Dodge Ram, they'll learn exactly where a control is and not need to take their eye off the road to actuate it. Many buttons have brail-like bumps on them just for that reason. Touch screens always need a driver to divert their attention to reading a screen, hovering a finger over the screen on a bumpy road while reading it is uncomfortable and unnatural. I takes longer and more effort to complete the same task. 3). Many touch screens require 2 to 4 step presses to get to a desired function. Some touch screens now require a deep dive for the most absurdly simple things such as re-directing a climate vent, or a mirror. While touch screens do de-clutter, are a fun light show that makes a person think they spent more money for something cool and (shhhhhh) are vastly cheaper for manufacturers to make over dedicated dials/buttons: in practice, they open up more opportunities to miss-press or double press a feature (as illustrated in this review). This means to do something that used to take a second in an '05 accord is taking 4 to 10 seconds in a '22 Mach E. This can also cause undue frustration and agitation to actuate something that was once so simple to do. This again, takes someone away from the business of driving.

@@wizardmix Maybe you are from a different generation that struggles with touch screens and devices similar. There is nothing wrong with that its not like you grew up with those always in your hands. Me being 26 I type on my iphone without looking screens are a non issue. As far as car infotainment systems I find it far far easier to adjust things like radio, climate control, navigation ect much easier on our teslas then say our Porsche 991.2. Maybe it is the amount of miles I drive on each car that I am more familiar with any control I need on the tesla. But I strongly feel that it is actually easier because everything is in one location that is well lit and easy to read with my bad eyes without taking too much attention from the road. The 911 I am constantly looking down at the center console playing climate control or music roulette. Now combine climate control roulette with a complete lack of basic safety systems a $18,000 Toyota comes with for free and the 911 is far more likely to end up in a accident with me driving due to being distracted than my Tesla. This is not just a tesla thing. My toyota prius prime was almost exclusively controlled through the touch screen as well and I was much happier with that layout then the prius C i replaced that was all normal buttons.

@@louisvanbelkum1778 You have a nice array of vehicles for being as young as you are. I'm 42 and surrounded by touch screens and technology. It is very much intrinsic to my business. I've been ahead of the curve and embracing new tech for decades and sparing you a lengthly explanation, let's just say "being out of touch" is how a person would define me. My take-away here is that we all can prefer what we've grown accustomed to and in your case, the UX of the Tesla has grown on you to a level that you prefer it to a sea of dedicated buttons. I can understand that. It doesn't change my conviction that three presses on a touch screen are easier than one press of a dedicated button when I want to actuate the "recycle air" function in my car. It is true. I'm older and I did grow into adulthood in a place and time where a device was not tracking and collecting data on every single thing I do, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Don't get me wrong, knowing what it was like before this has me in constant awe of the technology boom, BUT unlike those younger than me, it's not exactly needed to make my life complete. I know how to do with out. I lived it and I do feel bad for the generations who cant experience that frame of reference. For what it is worth, here is what I've noticed in my (coincidental) 26 years of driving: When I was in my 20's, I used to get all huffed up about older drivers. Living next to a major university as I do, I've noticed the far worse ones are in their early 20s. In aggregate, the drivers I encounter on my day to day have become far less attentive, far less spatially aware and show a considerable lack of skill to the point where I find it shameful they were allowed a license at all. This coincides with a sharp rise in devices and stimuli that reside within the greenhouse that tend to take one's focus off the business of driving or go so far as to suggest: "It's okay, I've got this, here's some drop menus to play with." I can and have parallel parked 27' commercial vehicles with a 15' trailer using only side mirrors as my guide and I see people considerably younger than me not able to manage a CRV into a generous gap in spite of the 360º surveillance cameras, sensors and the rest. I'm honestly embarrassed for them. My day to day driving feels more like navigating a Japanese gauntlet show full of absent-minded obstacles, seemingly unwilling to realize their relationship to other cars on the road than it does feel like I'm with young professionals who have a sense of what they're doing. In almost every case, I see that person staring down or not paying attention as though they have some social disorder that prevents them from engaging in an amicable way with their fellow drivers. This is what I'm seeing as someone whose been here a little bit longer than you and it's why I prefer, while driving, to be less bothered by complex screen based systems that even the most skilled UX designer can spend too much time on to actuate a simple task.

I drive an AWD Audi. In my old one, you could turn it all off, but on the new one it says it's off but it will jump in if things look bad. I turned off all the stability an TC in my old one ONCE and would never do that again the rest of the time I owned it. My new Audi has 140 hp more and 130 ft lbs tq more and makes more torque everywhere and HP is still climbing when the ECU goes to cut fuel at 7000+ rpm. If you are on it and you hit a crack in the road in second gear the TC light comes on as the tires spin. I wouldn't want to turn TC completely off.

Sticker on the E was 46 but you get 2500 in Texas rebates plus 7500 government so for a 36k SUV it's definitely one of the best optioned and nice for that price range. The 1 pedal drive will almost throw you through the windshield

Hmmm. So the future of a Mustang is an SUV? Question, instead of a generic car review, what do you guys think of this car having the Mustang badge? Does it ride like a Mustang? Does it feel like a Mustang? Do you feel that little extra as you get behind the wheel? Do you get that sense of exhilaration as you hit the throttle? Does it feel like a GT? Otherwise, it's just a good EV with decent range. Crap! I'm finally getting my S550 and will be getting an S650 before the ICE's are gone.

I've never owned an electric vehicle - This is by far the most entertaining of the ones I'd consider. Can we answer the question, though- Can it be upgraded to go faster? Obviously asking if the software would allow for an even more bonkers mode, or the addition of additional electric power. Is this common in the underground world for electrics?? Also - does this particular vehicle allow for the "sound" of an engine via the sound system? If so, will it do it while listening to music, too?

Weighs less and costs less while being more efficient and has less charging costs at public stations along with the better super charging network. If corner carving is your deal or drag strip visits the 3 is the king of both. If you want something more asthetic and less common the Mach e is for you. It’s a car vs a crossover do depends what you want, if it’s performance the model 3 crushes this in every metric and it has more range, more efficient and of course the charging, UI, safety etc are better.
