One thing that moved me was how much Keaton's Bruce loved being the Batman. He smiled at the mirror after seeing his injuries and both times he died he died smiling, he died doing what he loved and being who he is

This was such a great reminder that we often think that all of the hardship and trauma we endure damages us but in reality it strengthens us. Barry 2 being thrown into a Barry 1 situation and not being able to handle it mentally shows that he wasnt exposed to the hardship that created Barry 1 and thats okay.

Tbh, I went into the movie expecting to not like Kara. I had no particular reason other than maybe a little bit being so used to the traditional blonde haired Supergirl (stupid, I know), but mainly from thinking that she kinda felt out of place in a Flash film. I ended up loving her though! It felt great seeing Supergirl on the big screen and it hope it isn’t the last time we get to see her!
In the theater for me the nost heartbreaking sequence was really barry 2 just going back in time every time and watching him fail, and they really made you feel that he was so in over his head and was hopelessly trying to fix the inevitable but he just couldnt let go, it felt very real to human nature and how alot of people arent able to get past their traumas and forever remain stuck in that moment unable to move on and how what we think is right isnt or how we think think shouldve been isnt always whats best for us.
I think the vfx in chronobowl was a choice... because it was like a book which has been written but you can choose a page and actually enter it if you want to...so I didn't mind it

Sasha was amazing.. the sad part.. she had little screen time and her supergirl lived in a cage.. so, she didn't have enough experience or recovered enough to beat Zod. Her fate always being death... Is truly sad 😢😭

@sandal_thong8631

I'd always wondered how Christopher Reeve's Superman learned how to fight before going up against Zod and his minions. So this Supergirl may have been more realistic, by losing to General Zod repeatedly. Barry 1 says Batman was their leader and strategist, but Michael Keaton's Batman didn't have that experience of being a team leader; perhaps he never had a Robin? As a result he doesn't communicate much in Russia or in Australia on planning to work together to win. And I guess Barry 1 never heard of Kryptonite, for Batman to find some to use against Zod.
Nick Cage was a surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one 😂
This was a pretty good movie. The opening scene made me think why don't other superhero movies open like this. It was an energetic start. When I experienced Barry's story, it made me realize how deep the DC stories can be. I hope James Gun focuses on the feeling. The happy moments, the sadness, and the excitement of the action.
I loved it when Bruce was explaining time travel. He made fun of Marvel's theory of time travel with the pasta. Stoltz wanted to make Back To The Future a drama. The scene of Barry just saving one person is a little easter egg of Justice League when Barry asked Batman who to save and Batman said just save one person. And of course he ended up saving most of the hostages.

Let me start by saying, LOVED The Flash. After I finished the movie I went to Twitter to see how everyone else loved the film as much as me only to find everyone hating on it. I’m glad I can be apart of this party though enjoying the movie! Thanks Grace!♥️
Grace I love your point about Barry 2 being thrown into an impossible situation. His first fight is against an army of kryptonians and he has to reckon with the insurmountable stakes at hand, they did a good job of invoking sympathy for the character

Despite the Miller cloud hovering over the film, it was very good. Solid story, great Flash action, and strong performances. I really enjoyed it.
The mental health scene made me tear up, especially with Kara showing emotion for the 1st time asking why Miller came back & a callback to the original Superman hope scene. It was beautiful & with a hubby who’s a therapist it made him extremely happy to see done right in a blockbuster movie.

I could argue that it goes all Super CGI when you are in the Speed Force or in Speed Time(?). People look weird when you are in it or observing people in it. It would be weird to see a person out of time?????
For me a lot of his fastest sequences sort of had this “dream filter” over it and it gave an uncanny feeling obviously, but I thought it fit how he sees things “in the speed force” which is its own realm of reality kind of in its own little corner of the multiverse
Saw it opening night and thought it was a fun superhero film with a lot of heart, some great action sequences and great performances. As a fan of the Flash it was also great to see the character properly realised on the big screen (Snydercut Flash was awesome too but never saw that at the cinema)
Saw it tonight and loved it. Ezra Miller’s performance was a standout and I hope we get to see more of Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
It’s because of spoiler reviews like this, that I make sure to watch the 3pm Thursday showing at my local AMC. Thank you Grace your review is spot on.

Just got back from seeing it - and DO see it in IMAX if you can - the whole film was filmed for IMAX and it's gorgeous / immersive. Such a pop culture / fan-service extravaganza - and in the best possible way while being a smart, heart-felt film. Yeah, I really wish they had kept the original ending with Keaton and Calle. But with Gunn and Safran taking over and scrapping the plans for their characters going forward, I understand ditching that ending. Putting Clooney in that spot is merely intended to be another fun cameo that they won't need to develop later on (or maybe they will and Clooney can get some redemption for Batman & Robin). But I hope we at least get the original ending as a special feature when the movie hits home media.

Greetings from Myanmar 👋 I just saw it today with my son for his second visit to a movie theater and we both loved it. Some people complained about the CGI and it was never an issue for me. We enjoyed every second of it.
I am a bit embarrased still.. but... the moment where Barry and Barry are about to arive to the Zod battle and the young Barry after putting the mask turns around but the mask stays with the mounth opening poiting foroward... made me burst out laughing like I haven;t in a long time in theatre XDD The sound of the rubber and the fact that there wasn't any lines were just perfect. Also for someone who cosplays Batman its a treat.
I saw it yesterday overseas and enjoyed the opening act the most. I'm very surprised with all the extended trailers that there's alot more on screen. I stayed not knowing if there was a post credit scene as the lights were still off. It was very tearful for the finale supermarket scene. Keep up the great reviews Grace.❤

At the advanced screening the Clooney didn’t happen . We hear the voice of Kevin conroy . And the went to black . We all thought it was Kevin himself lol
It was a fun movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. MICHAEL KEATON IS WHAT SOLD THIS MOVIE FOR ME! HE’S STILL GOT IT! Still sorry that they cut Lynda Carter’s cameo tho. I would have loved to have seen that in the multiverse sequence. And like u said Grace, I was waiting for that Michael Keaton line “how much do u weigh?” But I was also waiting for the line afterwards when he says “u weigh more” than whatever they would have said in the movie. That line was funny in the ‘89’ movie and would have added to the comedy here imo.
Saw both Spiderverse and Flash today. That was a lot of multiverse, lol. Agree with all Grace’s points. I laughed at even the title credits trying to manifest but got interrupted. My audience just loved everything Keaton - those Batman fight sequences were phenomenal. A shame the characters ended as they did - I could have imagine more to come.

Babies falling bothered me so I had to look away. Likewise, Rocket's batch 89 being less-sophisticated than him, and looking like animal cruelty bothered me. In both a whole world dies, so was a downer; but I'll agree _The Flash_ was a little better.
There’s hints of Grant Morrisons influence in this with the multiverse scenes and visuals. I loved that
I just don't understand why there was no Grant Gustin cameo. They showed(what looked like to me) Jay Garrick from Arrowverse instead of Grant Gustin??
I couldn't agree with you more! "The Flash" was truly one of the most enjoyable superhero movies I've watched in recent memory. The emotional scene between Barry Allen and his mother at the end had me in tears, and Ezra did such a powerful job capturing that innocence he lost when his mother died. It was incredibly touching to witness Barry, a powerful superhero, vulnerable and emotional, seeking comfort in his mother's arms. It resonated deeply with me and reminded me of the profound emotional impact that well-crafted storytelling can have. The movie captures the essence of what makes DC and comic book movies so special. It rekindles the passion and excitement we feel for these characters and their extraordinary journeys. I agree that superhero movies, with their interconnected universes and sprawling narratives, can sometimes become overwhelming. However, "The Flash" reminds us of the power of a focused, character-driven story that tugs at our heartstrings and reignites our love for these iconic heroes. Only thing I kinda disliked was just the confusion as to what is "old" DCEU and "new" DCEU, is Barry now completely stuck in an alternate timeline? Or is just Bruce Wayne swapped and is everything the same? It raises more questions to be honest than answers them, but hey, that's another movie's problem haha. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It's always a joy to see your reactions Grace, I know you're a little harder on DC sometimes but I know it comes from such a good and honest place and for the love of the source material. Great review!
Just got out of a 3pm showing and it was entertaining. The VFX and the CGI reminded me of 2001’s The Mummy Returns. So it was pretty bad to me. But I loved how the film was a celebration of the DC universe.
I felt like the mental health talk after hospital sequence was more about barry himself that justice league members don't take care of their own mental health and are walking around saving the world with undealt internal issues.
Just walked out of the movie. I must say . I feel like I walked out of 2017’s Josstice League. Best part of film was Keaton! The CGI was horrendous. Reminded me of Son of the Mask smh. 6/10 for me

I also really loved the running joke that you mentioned. Everyone, including myself, really didn't care for the flash's running style in his previous appearances. They seemed to have fixed that in this film. I felt like this scene was poking a bit of self-aware fun at that fact.

I appreciated that CW Flash set cameo. The bar/cafe where the Barrys saw the broadcast of Zod's arrival immediately jumped out at me, even though I didn't watch much of the series.
2 gags I appreciated that weren’t mentioned in this video… 1) Barry 2 putting on Barry 1’s ring with the subtle LOTR shoutout. 2) Barry 2 turning his head in Batman’s mask 🤣

Extremely funny film, and overall a great and meta-great superhero film. My favorite line (IIRC) was after Batman had used spaghetti with sauce (poignant because of the role of sauce in the tragedy of Barry Prime's life), using it to intriguingly explain temporal breakage and the Multiverse, and then when he adds parmigiana and younger Barry asks what the cheese represents, Barry Prime resignedly explains, "It's just a garnish." I laughed out loud at that.
