This was such a great reminder that we often think that all of the hardship and trauma we endure damages us but in reality it strengthens us. Barry 2 being thrown into a Barry 1 situation and not being able to handle it mentally shows that he wasnt exposed to the hardship that created Barry 1 and thats okay.

Tbh, I went into the movie expecting to not like Kara. I had no particular reason other than maybe a little bit being so used to the traditional blonde haired Supergirl (stupid, I know), but mainly from thinking that she kinda felt out of place in a Flash film. I ended up loving her though! It felt great seeing Supergirl on the big screen and it hope it isn’t the last time we get to see her!

In the theater for me the nost heartbreaking sequence was really barry 2 just going back in time every time and watching him fail, and they really made you feel that he was so in over his head and was hopelessly trying to fix the inevitable but he just couldnt let go, it felt very real to human nature and how alot of people arent able to get past their traumas and forever remain stuck in that moment unable to move on and how what we think is right isnt or how we think think shouldve been isnt always whats best for us.

I'd always wondered how Christopher Reeve's Superman learned how to fight before going up against Zod and his minions. So this Supergirl may have been more realistic, by losing to General Zod repeatedly. Barry 1 says Batman was their leader and strategist, but Michael Keaton's Batman didn't have that experience of being a team leader; perhaps he never had a Robin? As a result he doesn't communicate much in Russia or in Australia on planning to work together to win. And I guess Barry 1 never heard of Kryptonite, for Batman to find some to use against Zod.

When I experienced Barry's story, it made me realize how deep the DC stories can be. I hope James Gun focuses on the feeling. The happy moments, the sadness, and the excitement of the action.

I loved it when Bruce was explaining time travel. He made fun of Marvel's theory of time travel with the pasta. Stoltz wanted to make Back To The Future a drama. The scene of Barry just saving one person is a little easter egg of Justice League when Barry asked Batman who to save and Batman said just save one person. And of course he ended up saving most of the hostages.

Yeah, I really wish they had kept the original ending with Keaton and Calle. But with Gunn and Safran taking over and scrapping the plans for their characters going forward, I understand ditching that ending. Putting Clooney in that spot is merely intended to be another fun cameo that they won't need to develop later on (or maybe they will and Clooney can get some redemption for Batman & Robin). But I hope we at least get the original ending as a special feature when the movie hits home media.

I couldn't agree with you more! "The Flash" was truly one of the most enjoyable superhero movies I've watched in recent memory. The emotional scene between Barry Allen and his mother at the end had me in tears, and Ezra did such a powerful job capturing that innocence he lost when his mother died. It was incredibly touching to witness Barry, a powerful superhero, vulnerable and emotional, seeking comfort in his mother's arms. It resonated deeply with me and reminded me of the profound emotional impact that well-crafted storytelling can have. The movie captures the essence of what makes DC and comic book movies so special. It rekindles the passion and excitement we feel for these characters and their extraordinary journeys. I agree that superhero movies, with their interconnected universes and sprawling narratives, can sometimes become overwhelming. However, "The Flash" reminds us of the power of a focused, character-driven story that tugs at our heartstrings and reignites our love for these iconic heroes. Only thing I kinda disliked was just the confusion as to what is "old" DCEU and "new" DCEU, is Barry now completely stuck in an alternate timeline? Or is just Bruce Wayne swapped and is everything the same? It raises more questions to be honest than answers them, but hey, that's another movie's problem haha. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It's always a joy to see your reactions Grace, I know you're a little harder on DC sometimes but I know it comes from such a good and honest place and for the love of the source material. Great review!

Just got out of a 3pm showing and it was entertaining. The VFX and the CGI reminded me of 2001’s The Mummy Returns. So it was pretty bad to me. But I loved how the film was a celebration of the DC universe.

They definitly made a creative choice in the cronoball scenes to make the scenes look like paper mashe characters because Barry was seeing this in the speed force and not in reality. To b honest it's understandable because how on arth are they going to bring back Chris Reeve and shoot Nick Cage. It was meant to be a little wonky.

8/10 It was great! the pacing kept me interested throughout, the comedy was unique, the Batman nostalgia was well done, the actions scenes were original and agree to disagree Ezra’s presence adds to the movie than every other generic male actor! But the stylized cgi for the cameos could’ve been better

I also really loved the running joke that you mentioned. Everyone, including myself, really didn't care for the flash's running style in his previous appearances. They seemed to have fixed that in this film. I felt like this scene was poking a bit of self-aware fun at that fact.

I just finished watching The Flash and I gotta say it really is one of the best superhero or honestly just movie in general, it was such an amazing experience! I know there are bad CGI scenes but if you notice it’s only for the multiverse stuff so maybe it’s just how Barry preserves what he is seeing in the speed force, but overall great movie. Miller did an excellent job it’s such a shame they did what they did.

Extremely funny film, and overall a great and meta-great superhero film. My favorite line (IIRC) was after Batman had used spaghetti with sauce (poignant because of the role of sauce in the tragedy of Barry Prime's life), using it to intriguingly explain temporal breakage and the Multiverse, and then when he adds parmigiana and younger Barry asks what the cheese represents, Barry Prime resignedly explains, "It's just a garnish." I laughed out loud at that.
