Rebirth is one of my favorite comics. Wally was awesome in that. I wish Titans wasn't a month issue so we could get more into the mystery.

Wally West is my Flash, from the Justice League cartoon in 2001 to the First Flash comic I ever read back in 2003(Sadly I've lost that comic book). I grew up with him and i'm more than disappointed with the way they handled his introduction in the New 52

agreed. For me Barry was like DC'S uncle Ben. He was supposed to stay dead. He was just part of the origin story of Wally. Wally who was my flash since the 80's comics. Even when people say they like Barry because of e TV show when the TV show is 85% Wally West. including Barry just name and origin being Barry but everything else about him is Wally West. Wally West will always remain my Flash

+Nathan Nissim Oh my gosh same. I can't stand the way they introduced him into New52. He was my fav DC character of all time and now they've changed him completely and in my opinion turned him from a very complex character into what seems like only a repeat in the NEW52.

Excellent. Wally is THE Flash that the most of us grew up with. Barry is great, yeah, but Wally has a special place in my heart. Especially because of the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. Good stuff.

+Afro Luffy Yeah- should have specified that it really depends which generation you are from. I guess it's because more and more younger people are becoming comic book fans nowadays, so we have a nice mix of both Barry and Wally. Kind of sad that Wally got completely rebooted in the New 52 though.

Great video overall man. I love the fact that u actually made a video that shows the reasons why fans like myself and many others prefer Wally. There are a couple of wrinkles in your retelling though. For example, Wally didn't vibrate his way in the Speed Force. He used Johnny Quick's speed formula, which gave him an added boost of speed. In effect, he was moving so fast that he was locked between seconds. This ultimately shunts him through that barrier which Max kept brushing against and into the speed force. Also, the speed force doesn't exist beyond the multiverse so much as it exists between each universe within the multiverse and across each timeline. This is how Wally can travel to different dimensions and timelines and still have his powers. It's part of the glue that holds the multiverse and different timelines together, not something that exists beyond the multiverse.

Kid flash was part of the teen titans for a long time, him and robin left at the same time. He became a member of the JL, and his own series. West had been the flash for almost 20 years, DC just done like west I think. West was as fast as he believed he could be, in the end West was and is the fastest of the flash.

Wally West was the mainstream Flash throughout the DC universe, as most people have grown up knowing him.

Ole Wally West :Pre new 52 .Was funny,.I grew to like post Crisis back in the 80's .Even though he was not Barry Allen .And I have not read much 52 stuff .I still like a lot of older stories from mid to late 80's to 90's .

Wow Pre-New 52 Wally can't get a brreak. Gone in Young Justice and gone now. And its obvious how old Wally got his Powers. Just like Barry. Mopee.

I grew up watching the Justice League Animated shows so Wally was the main Flash for me. Heck I think before I had access to older comics and stuff Wally might have been the only Flash in my mind. I kinda wish New 52 was gonna retell some of the older stuff rather than try and change everything and erase Wally. I think I would have liked it if they did. But I did like them reintroducing him in Rebirth and making Wallace his cousin for all the people who like him as Kid Flash. With Bart back, I can't wait for him to interact with Wally at some point.

Rip Pre-52 which will always be better then new 52. Even the silly as balls silver age junk is better then some of the trip new 52 is making currently. Mostly just trashing characters people like to make them more relate-able just failing spectacularly. Only makes me hate that piss stain on the carpet known as Flashpoint even more.

I think Wally West is going to re-rise in prominence as people who grew up with him start writing comics. Like how people who grew up with Barry got to top positions at DC and brought him back, demoting Wally

I'm glad flash point addresses the idea that Flash becoming Flash is random and isn't a exact science

Have you thought of doing more videos on specific writers and artists during their career? We know the Jack Kirbys and Stan Lee and I would love to see videos on them, but I'd also like to see more information and videos of these other artists and writers you mention that people may not be as aware of as they should.

My interest in comics and the characters therein is not a vested one. A brief condensed version delivered by another reputable source is all I need. Enjoy them as you see fit and in your own way. I'll do the same.

oh goodness yay KF, one of my favourite 'Flash'es. :') I do adore his pre52 origin.

i grew up with wally west too, but barry allen is THE flash! and him being the lightening striking him in his origin just tied it up perfectly

Here's a fact he was a founder member of the Teen Titians and was retained when the titans were revamped in the Marv Wolfman and George Prez era The remake (That introduced Raven, Starfire , Cyborg, and all so the reintroduction of Beast Boy now know as Changeling who was the groups benefactor much the same as Batman was to the Outsiders) he (Wally West) even had a storyline where he had romantic interest in Raven that turned sour and Starfire sought the affection of Nightwing (the Dick Grayson Robin)

I know it's horrible but am I the only one who had to watch 6:36 again to confirm that William Messner-Loebs only has one arm? According to Wikipedia, Loebs' right arm was amputated in infancy because of a cancerous tumor.

Wally will always be my favorite Flash. And I very much miss the rest of the Flash family and what it represented. Bringing back Barry, and having him be the only Flash was a huge misstep.

This was my flash, this is the one I grew up with. I miss this version of Wally, not that I have anything wrong with new 52 version his relationship with Linda and all of his progression and powers are different.

Do you think they could do an angle on the show where there is a version of pre new 52 Wally West comes and meets team flash. Maybe not in season 4 but in later seasons?

I am not a huge fan of Flash, but when I think about Flash, his name is Wally West. I am OK with Barry Allen, but the real deal for me is Wally West. The original one! They can't just erase his existence and create a new Wally West being an entirely different person. I hope they will create some saga to bring back our Wally West back. His position may be like they did with Kyle Rainer, with real prestige, despite not being the original one. But in fact, I think that Wally deserves the mantle of Flash.

my only connection to Barry Allen is via my friend who got me into the books and the new series on the CW, but Wally is my Flash :)

Wally isn't my favorite because I grew up with him in the justice league show. He is my favorite because I grew up with him in the Grant Morrison JLA run. That stuff alone made him very cool in his own right. But Geoff John's took it to another level. I can't believe he did sooo much for this character... Really helped build him up... Just to help tear it all down in a way.

That moment when Wally uses Barry Flash facts to punch Zum so hard to Africa was badass. Geoff Johns' run is certainly one of the best, but it removed many aspect that made Wally unique (Ex. Public Identity). Imo it was the beginning of the end for Wally.

+Girintina For the most part, TV Barry already has a lot of pre-flashpoint Wally's personality, so if you get your wish it might actually be worse for the new TV Wally in the long term. Good relationships only work if there is enough contrast to signify each role that the characters play. If Wally sounds too much like himself he might end up stealing a lot of lines from Barry and Cisco.

dngn4774 True. But I still think there's room for his jovial nature. TV Barry tends to brood a bit and be worried,although he's got his witty moments. Wally taking things in stride and laughing them off may be a nice bit of contrast.

It's not Opinion, it's fact. As far as I know, Berry so far has moved the fastest. Outrunning the concept of Death itself. And while they say Wally was holding back and was actually faster than Berry, we don't, as far as I know, EVER SEE him being Faster. They can say he's faster all they want, but so far there has been no PROOF of it, as he has never been fast enough to beat Berry's own fastest record. Not even CLOSE to being that fast.

Wally outran the blacks Flash, so badly to the point that he erased his existence... which is rumored to be Zoom and the Barry after his death so right there is kinda proof the Wally has accomplished great feats as well, but whether he is faster will always be an argument.
