I’ve been waiting for someone to cover this. This book was so underrated and as someone who struggles with PTSD it read as such a powerful piece exploring trauma and self narrative. For me this was a 10/10

I love the fact that DC currently has a lot of characters with the power of Dr. Manhattan, like Wally. Rorschach would surely say: "What is this, some kind of nuclear gods bargain sale?!"

9:05 Earth-43, specially The Red Rain Trilogy, is one of the most bizarre, but yet fascinating DC realities ever. Both the lore and the art make me feel I am inside a fever dream I want to live in. It's pretty amazing the plot in which the Joker becomes the Lord of Vampires even though he NEVER is turned into one of them, not to mention the way the Trilogy concludes with Vampire Batman peacefully passing away after finally making Gotham a safe place to live in is one of the best conclusions the caped crusaders had in his story

Dr. Manhattan's Powers: Become a Power-Up like in a video game Alan Moore: "You see what those bloody corporations do? They take your ideas and they succ them! Succ them like leeches until they've gotten every last drop of the marrow from your bones!" Little did we know, Wally West getting the powers was actually pretty smart how he used them. It wasn't until later that we saw the full "Watchmen Babies"-ification of Jon's powers...

The fact the The Batman Who Laughs just became an evil Dr. Manhattan rather than wholly disinterested in previous plans shows what they thought of Alan Moore.

Doomsday Clock was supposed to reveal Wally West being stuck in the Speed Force more so than any single change made by Doctor Manhattan is what lead to all the changes in DC's history but Dan Dildo HATED Wally with a passion, Dan was pushing his 5G initiative, and Dan kept forcing rewrites on Geoff Johns to make Doomsday Clock a much more Superman centric story than it was intended to be. Oh, Superman was important but, Wally he was supposed to be DC'S heart the guy who overcame SO MUCH to inspire so many others SUPERMAN INCLUDED but to Dan Dildo Wally West being that important was intolerable. In addition to the MANY rewrites Dan made Doomsday Clock irrelevant to DC's continuity by delaying every issue for months until all interest for the story ground to a halt (Dan Dildo was FIRED not long after)

Thank you for covering this, its one of my favorite stories. Also Chino Moreno from deftones is batman. Hes said in interviews he doesnt like people and prefers to be alone (brooding) and his favorite bands growing up were the cure and morrisey (mopey/emo af)

Quick fun question What if Reverse Flash actually met up with Dr Chair Wally and not Manhattan? Fun theory to think Wally got "revenge" for his brother

A bit late, but we know for sure it was dr Manhattan, because thawne met him while holding the comedian pin (the whatchman smiley pin). And later in doomsday clock Manhattan had it, he also pick it up on mars at the end of "the button" (the story where thawne met Manhattan). Plus Wally ends up on the mobius chair during the ending of doomsday clock, since he witness in real time the new changes made by Manhattan at the end of that.

Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but thats the first sound bite ive heard in a comicsexplained and it genuinely caught me off guard and scared me. LOVED it please do more!!!

I don't know if you've covered them, but I think it'd be cool to cover all the multiversal characters like President Superman that show up every now and then.

Dude you gotta know that Wally doesn’t like time travel or traveling to different worlds. That DOES NOT MEAN he doesnt know much about it. You gotta review “Chain Lightning”. Hell even some if the Geoff Johns stories (the early ones which were kinda boring) dealt with Wally traveling to a parallel magical universe. For what its worth, wally i would say has instinctual knowledge of the speed force which allowed him do what passed for extradimensional travel in pre-infinite crisis. Just not with the same level of precision as what we see now in a post-Dark multiverse landscape.

as bad as this story was, I cried for Wally when he found his kids.

i don't usually comment on any videos, but Rob my Dude Your doing an excellent job. i stopped reading comic books in the early 2000's, and when i did read Them periodically it was only in an attempt to bring me up to speed with my favorite characters. Flash being one of those Characters. In 2011 Marvel solidified it's cinematic dominance with Captain America. They started with Iron man in 2008. In an effort to compete in 2011 with Marvel, with what i saw as a loss of a lot of readers due to Marvels' dominance in the Cinematic arena They introduced the New Fifty two. i guess they felt like They could win over a lot of readers by introducing a whole new DC universe and then start offering those readers a Cinematic universe that corresponded with those books. That plan backfired, because They ostracized all Their already existing fan base. i Loved Wally West, because He was the natural progression of the Flash legacy. For Them to just write Him out with no explanation was a sin for me that has no redemption. It's Good to see They're finally trying to bring Him back Family and all. It's all about making money, and i'm curious to see if Wally's Character stays around. With the New 52, continuity went out the window. It was a knee jerk reaction to loss of sales. Rant over 😢😂

He is still around and a 3rd child in the mix , and Linda gained speed powers. But now Barry and Iris were never married. Leaving open the question of the Tornado twins Dawn and Don Allen, and their kids Bart ( impulse) and Jenni ( Xs). Also with out Iris to introduce Wally to Barry how did they meet up? How did he become kid flash age 10? To become the 3rd flash. And for that matter John Fox of the 26th Century Flash 4, last operating in the 853rd Century with Justice Legion A.

Top 20 most powerful DC characters hierarchy please. And the Marvel one when it comes out. Your original Marvel hierarchy is still my favorite series of videos you’ve done, and I’m a DC guy.

I absolutely love overpowered characters. I just think they're neat. Though if one was wanting to get into reading the dc comics (mainly flash, batfam, maybe some superman etc.) where would you start? Where would you even get the comics because I dont think ive ever actually SEEN a comic book store.

Wally West is my favorite character in DC. He is the Flash I grew up with. That being said this entire comic run is one of my favorites for him. Seeing him get his life back, get his family back and then become more Godlike with the chair was just a treat. We all know how powerful Wally West is and what he can do when he unleashes his full might. When the self doubt starts to disappear his true power rises forth, which is why he is able to do some of the crazy shit he has done. Self Doubt is his Kryptonite so to speak, because he literally manifests it into reality. When he has no Self Doubt and is focused on the task the man is damn near unstoppable. I was so worried DC was going to screw him when he told Tempus to protect his Children, I feared he was just going to delete them but man was I happy when the kids landed back on Earth and Linda ran to them. My boy has more then earned his happiness.
