I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but the past 3 seasons have been super Sunny and light, with less fight scenes at night. It’s a little thing, but something about Barry’s lightning in the darkness made the first 3 seasons so special.

Darkness makes it easier to hide low budget CGI. Thats why alot of movies have their big cgi scenes set at night. So they can use shadows to hide the fact they saved a few thousand bucks.

I remember reading that originally, they used treadmills and so the actors were actually running, and they just sped everything up, and that's why it looked like running, bc they *were* running, and now they just run in place over a green screen, but the only one who can run in place convincingly is Gustin

Network shows tend to lower the budgets of their shows season after season. Plus, the season in this video is right in the middle of a covid disruption. Season 8 followed this season and had some decent CGI moments. Armageddon, The Curious Case of Barry Allen, Deathstorm.

The cameraman’s speed is actually unfathomable, the way he’s able to move so fast that even The Flash looks like he’s frozen in time as the cameraman circles around him is just mind blowing, no wonder the cgi has gone to shit, their budget was spent on paying the fastest cameraman alive.

Back then you could still see them run but it looked more slow and when they bent there arms you could look along the bolt and see it bend a little bit every few inches. Now it looks like they just recorded him running in a suit and didn't care how fast or consistent the bolt came out of his arms.

This was the first ever tv show I watched when it dropped the pilot, and I was gonna make it the first show I would follow from start to finish every week it went live, but I bailed season 5. I pushed thru season 4 as it was finally not a speedster villain, but 5 was enough. I revisit if an episode is intriguing enough, but it’s always single episodes and usually involves the reverse flash. I’ll stick around for that, but honestly I was pretty upset with how they handled Matt Letscher’s return. And while I think the Harrison Wells version is of course my favorite, I looked forward to Matt returning as the original face because they overused Tom Cavanagh.

Cg looks better in the dark. That's a way to coverup how unnatural cg tends to look. Its the same thing they did with the T-rex in the first Jurassic Park. It only ever appears at night, in the rain, and the only really good look you get at it, is at the very end of the movie when it's fighting the raptors

For your knowledge it was not a speed mirage! As we are talking of a whole city for a speed mirage it's not possible. It's a feat like Godspeed which is something like division of internal speedforce and merge later 😉

@@ujjawalbiswas152 No, it was simply that Thawne was so fast he could be in 2 places at once. Remember when they try to trap him in season 1? After Thawne gets done beating himself up he runs out of the building, in his suit, while also still being in the building pretending to be Dr Wells. It's not like godspeed where they're clones. Both were Thawne.

But the fact is it's not something like that of in season 1 as here we are talking about the whole f*ikng city! also I believe no can can do the feats like Thawne even Barry can't do those things, and yes Thawne can split his Negative Speedforce! Seasons 1 to 3 had the best CGI (and story). After that, everything went downhill. The characters weirdly stopped behaving like humans.

They got CW-ified. The scripts were turned into awful soap operas, and the CGI budget was slashed. And at the same time the CW keeps pumping out seasons. It would have been better with a finite number of seasons so we knew it was building up to an ending. Instead just keep cranking it out till it sucks, then cancel it when people stop watching.

The old CGI worked cause they tried making it a comic book style. They didn't try and make it look realistic like they did with the new CGI. We also had less close ups so it was harder to see the mistakes and difficulties that come with CGI and it didn't look like the flash was running in the same line for a 5 minute speech
