I think that Zoom wanted his first fight with Barry to motivate him to become faster. Zoom probably would have taken him back to Earth-2 if he thought that he could cure himself then. If Zoom had wanted him dead, he wouldn't have wasted time as he clearly demonstrated in this video.

Aquatic Mike sorry to say but Savitar is an awful villian and Reverse Flash may be Barry's most dangerous villian but he only really shines in LoT, Zoom was built up on killing other speedsters in the multiverse and taking their speed to become "the fastest man alive". Seriously, Zoom has a better twist and a better voice. No disrespect to Tobin Bell but he basically sounds like James Earl Jones in Rogue One. Plus Zoom broke Barry both physically and mentally. HE KILLED BARRY'S FATHER!! Barry's only and last member of his real family. That hit me more than "Iris'" death and she's the love of his life. Our Cisco first started out with purely mental powers, seeing past, future and other timelines where he died. If Reverb already had all the powers he probably wouldn’t need Cisco and Cisco is most likely a bit smarter since he get to indulge more in science and not crime. What I hate about this show is flash keeps losing to the same bs it made sense in season 1 and 2 cause he was learning but he should really capture the meta first and then get answers like he tries to convince them too much every time. I mean it only makes sense if there’s hostages or something or like something bad is gonna happen that when he should reason with them. Reasoning when the meta has no hostages is really stupid.
