Look at the plethora of yellow vests in the crowd or do a search on Tammy Lich and her involvement in past "freedom convoys". Americans dont understand the political system in Canada, so should really keep quiet. The city of Ottawa sees 250 protests in a year...take your day or your weekend, make your point and then go home - the Canadian way. the convoys were not thought out well there will be thousands of trucks blocking the roads for others to deliver food and other necessary items. There was also a video showing a member of the Canadian government questioning about Klaus Schwab's influence in the Parliament but that MP was completely ignored!!! Another thing worth mentioning is that a former RCMP officer told Canadians during a protest that about 20,000 RCMP officers signed a petition to investigate the violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights but the RCMP Commissioner openly said she doesn't want to be involved in this sort of thing!!!

He thinks he can just speak and we are supposed to do, this is supposed to go through Parliament but he is just issuing orders like a good little dictator. Problem is we have a Governor General who can step in but was appointed by him who won't say anything, courts that are too cowardly to look at this and just go with the "it's an emergency" excuse to okay this, this is just the latest in 2 years of him not following procedure and getting away with it. But what can we expect, only Prime Minister to have multiple ethics violations - he doesn't think the rules apply to him.

So it is like USA currently - there are constraints that the executive branch is either deliberately ignoring or using extra-governmental agencies under the pretext of "emergency" to invoke. Works in the short term but will catch up with them long-term, but by then it will be irrelevant when the relevant partisan actors have been long replaced. Canada according to V-Dem or Freedom House or similar is WAY up the list relative to the USA (which is comparably dysfunctional) , but I was wondering if it has to do with the fact that the Canadians are gracious people who seldom complain and the government has been (historically anyway) comparably benevolent by world standards. Turns out in part Trudeau is taking advice from the worst living democratically elected statesman on planet Earth (Biden). Biden broke the all-time record for use executive orders to countermand previous laws in his first month in office, so it does not surprise me.

I'm Canadian. It was interesting hearing one panelist talking about the truckers 'breaking the law'. Other than things like parking violations or building an open fire to keep warm in 0 degrees F, the only laws they are breaking are the ones the authorities are making up on the fly. They call everything 'mischief' (the MSM make it sound like vandalism or terrorism) and people who support them are aiding and abetting. The sad thing is the police and judges (most appointed by this Liberal mob) have generally being going along with this unbelievably broad interpretation, except of course if its other demonstrators of more acceptable causes doing things like burning down churches, blocking railways or setting up tent cities in public places.

Vaccine inequity is unethical, Mandates are not, you have been living with them your whole life. Rules and regulations are fundamental to a civil society speed limits, seatbelts, no smoaking. ​This is nothing but an attempt by the right wing to take down an elected government good or bad. This is why the PM did not talk to them. If it succeeds what will be the next demand. I think the PM went to far, parliament will vote on this. It Gives the police more powers but they don't have to use them all. Its kind of a no win on both sides. What bothers me the most is so much money came from America but America would freak out to see money come from a foreign country to overthrow their government. That's the way I see it. So let me get this straight, Trudeau states: “We are not limiting people’s freedom of speech. We are not limiting freedom of peaceful assembly. We are not preventing people from exercising their right to protest legally.” Okay, well let’s say I hypothetically believe this, and give Trudeau the benefit of the doubt, which I most certainly do not, but say I did, then I still think he missed out an important part, which I don't think was "intentional", but nonetheless here it is: "We are however, limiting the people’s access to their financials, which might limit people’s freedom of speech, might limit their willingness to peacefully assemble, and might limit their rights to protect, since we, the government, know that most of our people cannot afford to have their financial access restricted, since we have implemented policies that make it almost impossible for the people to own their own home or save for their retirement before they die, and as such, we know that by restricting the people's access to their own money will result in hardship and undue stress in an already stressful environment in which this will punish those less fortunate into doing what we, the government, say." There, that sounds more realistic and more importantly, truthful. I am astounded at how the Canadian government is addressing this crisis of their own making, it is absolutely disgraceful.
