This man's blessed and my current boyfriend's union a month ago at his Vancouver show. Going to his concert was our first date and we were standing right near the front and he saw us making out during Friendzone funny enough and pointed directly at us and gave us the CHEEKIEST smile I have ever seen. Thundercat, I am forever grateful of you.

Damn thundercat and grizzly bear...that would have been unbelievable. I missed my chance to see grizzly bear back then. They were touring for painted ruins and were in Knoxville which is 30 mins from me and i missed it over some work bs and got laid off that same week(after the show which, was on a Thursday and basically why i had to make a clearly shitty judgment call)...any damn way! It still haunts me in comments like this to this very moment. Thundercat was not with them. Even if he some how was. That is my stance. A man can only endure so much.

@@TAD-LOW it was a crazy night! They performed outdoors at a music festival in city plaza here in Raleigh. I kept my eye waiting for Grizzly Bears tour bus to pull up at the back stage. Took me a couple try's but I was able to talk with and get autographs from each bandmate except for Ed Droste which I really wanted to talk to. Daniel Rossen didn't want to deal with me. Chris Taylor was super nice and I talked to him the longest. His solo album under the moniker, CANT is really good! I'd never heard of Thundercat until a few weeks before the show. He started off telling the audience that he was upset because hours before Mac Miller had died. He played a blistering set. I was awestruck.

@@billstark696 yeah i think the Raleigh show was right b4 or after the Knox,TN show, which makes sense travel wise. Man that is awesome. I regret missin that show so much but god if it had been thundercat too? Pssh, I won't even entertain that notion. oh man he is a beast on bass too, for sure. That is freakin awesome u got to meet most of the Bear though. And so Daniel was not having it though huh? Haha, just based on him in certain interviews(he spoke in one about how he didn't really want to be in a band as a career choice, playing with them as just being "music is something he likes to do" and was about to hang it up when their whole thing just suddenly blew up and it became his life, i mean what!? Still he is great)he seems like he'd be a little less people personish then some of the others. Being a drummer myself i would have loved just to talk to Chris Bear. I think he is just one the best drummers around nowadays. His style is tricky and he makes some amazing choices in how he plays, very minimalist but dynamic and tasty, then suddenly busy as hell but still subtle never overplaying. And what he did on painted ruins? Get the hell outta here man. Like on"three rings" ? I mean wtf, by the end he is everywhere but the groove still feels so solid regardless. Huh, try it sometime is what i tell people who don't know whats up with grizzly bear. I mean to me, they are one the greatest, of anytime really, bands, but for sure these times. Its just like Thundercat too. there is amazing music out there, u just gotta dig a little left of center. but its a shame music like that doesn't dominate the airwaves when it should. Ah well, i gotta stop myself, i start talking cool music and i am go off on one. haha my bad. But hey, at least one of us made it to see them so i can see it as win. Oh and yes CANT is awesome. U ever check out "Department of Eagles" ? That's Daniel's other thing, he has Chris with him on drums in it a lot of it at times. U should check it out its good stuff, even if he wants to be a jerk about his social interactions. 😅

@@TAD-LOW preach it. You are so right on every level. I fell into them by accident and when I did I fell hard. Brought up just about everything they've recorded including Dept. Who says Rock is dead!?!? These guys know how to play. They are just about as perfect as you can find out there and there is some amazing outfits out there that just don't get the attention they deserve. Ruins is a masterpiece! I can't wait to see what's up next for them. I can't say enough really. I'm working from home today so now I must spin some of their tunes. ;-)

And its criminal how more people aren't aware of them and how, in my opinion at least, what they are at doing is just next level shit and how its like beatles or more accurately beach boys "pet sounds" musical genius innovation and approach, yet still all them. And u get it done man, turn it up for me! Im gonna do the same. Get motivated get shit done.( turns on "foreground") Life is heavy man...what's it all mean? im gonna chain smoke and ponder my own existence and think about failed relationships the rest of the day...🤔

lol thundercat shows snoop dogg frank zappa and gets booted out of the band. i had a similar experience showing "this town needs guns" to my jam/funk band

@@blackwizards1692 creative differences would be my guess. les claypool auditioned to be the bass player for metallica after cliff died but they didn't take him, not because he isn't a great bassist, they're just different artistically

Hearing Thundercat mention Jaco Pastorius' Portrait of Tracy made me smile. I just KNEW he loved that track, as he captured a bit of that vibe in his 2 Tron songs. Such an amazing bassist!

Tcat always been in the background of all these great artists, I'm so glad his solo work is finally getting attention. He's a godly bassist.

My first thundercat track I heard was "them changes". It was legit just a random KZread reccomended song, clicked it because I found the cover art funny and ended up really digging the song. It's funny how you could just stumble upon an artist merely on a whim.

My brother introduced me to Thundercat’s first album, Golden Age of The Apocalypse. I fell in love with all the songs especially Jamboree

That Jaco albumn is incredible. Such as classic; I dont think you even need to play bass to know its amazing

Seems like a super genuine guy, I can relate to being foolish and being keen to make others smile.

I noticed that the best musicians out here are students of the game. They always listen to the classics and various artists

I want to only praise this video, because I love Thundercat, but that could of ended on a better question.

I’ve loved Thundercat for many years! My son, who’s also a musician, was so excited to see him at some festival a couple of years ago! My son posted a photo of the two of them on Facebook and that just made me love Thundercat even more!

I think it was more so that this dude, who may have not been that famous to the average person yet, had shoes that no one had...in turn made him look "better" than everyone as he stated. To have the shoes before it even came out must mean your someone fairly important. That's what I got out of that.
