Except in the original comic, Mister Fantastic tricks them into letting him do it by showing them cut out panels with monsters on them from Marvel's™ Tales To Astonish and telling them they were real photographs of Earth's inhabitants.

I would love a version of fantastic 4 where Mr fantastic thinks the thing is just the shit and always tries to solve every problem with the thing first then has to begrudgingly let everyone else get involved.

That's terrific. I'd love it more if The Thing is a lot more honest and humble about it than Mr Fantastic, so he just tries to be the voice of reason but is always ignored due to Fantastic's inflated view of him.

For the record, this is a pretty faithful adaption of the Super Skrull's first appearance in the comic. I've been rereading Fantastic Four from the beginning (I only need 2 graphic novels to have a complete run of the first 361 issues which is my cut-off point) and read that issue recently. The biggest change is the ending because originally he was buried. The fate of getting turned into a cow with memories wiped was reserved for the very first 4 Skrulls to ever fight the Fantastic Four in the comics.

Took me a second to realize it says "goatman network".

I think the King is very impressed that the Super-Skrull caught a fish because we see in the establishing shot that there's no sea on planet Skrullos.

I love the classic Fantastic Four series. Those stories were so imaginative Marvel has been recycling those ideas for decades.

That was some slick sneaky subtle edit with Goatman Network!

Can't wait for the inevitable Caravan of Garbage on the classic Captain Marvel tv show just in time for the other Captain Marvel movie coming out this year.

the “cow” solution for the Super Skrull is remarkably similar to an Animorphs story that came way later, where the Animorphs have a new member who’s a little shit - they force him to morph permanently and then send him off to an island to fend for himself.

Did anyone else notice the "Goatman Network" in the style of the old Cartoon Network logo in the corner of the screen? That editor's a great bloke.

that's one of my favorite cartoons/tv shows, they show the coming of Galactus and Uatu the Watcher is in that episode, that's who Stan Lee was playing this whole time, it's too bad he didn't get to reveal himself to the Fantastic Four though

So, Super Skrull has all the powers of the Fantastic Four. Questions: (1) How did the Skrulls manage to do this? (2) Why don't they make multiple Super Skrulls? (3) What advantage does the Fantastic Four have over him? Besides teamwork and goodness. How would they be able to stop him? (4) Does he have any disadvantages that the F4 don't? (5) Does he alternate between Mr. Fantastic elastic resistance and The Thing rockhard durability at will, randomly, somehow do both at once? (6) Does he have to be on fire to fly? Can he make his forcefields burst into flames? (7) Can he use his F4 replicas powers in shapeshifting form?

Well, here we go: 1. His body has been surgically implanted with numerous power-receptors able to gather the same cosmic energy that mutated the Fantastic Four and mimic the functions of their powers. 2. Over time they did. 3. Reed is really smart. 4. Sometimes he accidentally defeats himself by using multiple powers at the same time. 5. At will. 6. He has to be on fire. No he can't. 7. I think so.

This is half the origin of the skrull kill krew.

A neat after credits scene, could have been a shot of a person whether its Fury or a random agent, morphs into a skrull and contacts an unknown and basically leads to a slow but potential invasion. Captain marvel is off planet with the refugees while the stealth skulls slowly begin to invade Earth.

@@glennb6020 Not that grim when you look at comics. There was an issue of New Mutants where a kid thought he was going to be hunted because he was a mutant, so he killed himself.

The ‘60’s Fantastic Four cartoon is what introduced me to the first family.

Any 60s-90s superhero comic, preferably Batman, Spider-Man or iron man. That would be awesome 👏
