I took an Egyptian History class in college last semester, and I did not gain nearly as much information on this monument of a figurehead. I had no idea how immensely advanced this man was for his time. Truly brilliant content. Since this channel is so new, I'd like to offer some advice! Personally, I'd like to see a LOT more emphasis on dates and time periods and general trends of the nation/region in context to the topic. Understanding the dynamics of the region while Imhotep practiced on his architectural methods could give great insight as to why/how he was able to afford the luxury of focusing on architecture rather than, say, warfare equipment/defenses. Also, while I understand these videos are supposed to be short and give a concise, general snapshot of a time in history, I do feel you missed a few things such as the religious importance of the pyramidal shape. I am not an Egyptologist or by any means near that field of study, but I feel that it is an important aspect as to why he decided to stack the mastabas, but that's more specific to this video itself. Another point, which I believe is nearly irrelevant but, since the channel is so new... is that I, personally, believe the transition between topics and events is a little *too* smooth. Emphasizing an important event, such as the creation of the pyramid or Imhotep's acquirement of his greatest title could be better conveyed with more of a pause. I am not a content creator or a film critic(?), but these are just some points I figured could help. I like this channel and the purpose behind it very much! I've subscribed and dinged the bell, and I look forward to more content from you! PS. I really would like to see more emphasis on dates, though, however personal that request is, haha!

This channel is a gem in an ocean of pseudo historical channels, filled with belives and convictions pulled ot of a finger. Like believes about aliens helping Egyptians, Egyptians having advanced technology (impossible for the state of their actual knowledge and time) or they are commonly presenting (almost like a fact) overcomplicated explanations for anything, that isn't completly resolved for the recent state of arheological knowledge. Those people are so annoyingly ignorant, about the whole Egyptian subject, that they can't comprehand the fact, that the simplest explanations for almost every topic are mostly right. And that makes Egyptians even more amazing. People living in modern times, with rocket technology, etc., can't belive that ancient people could make such amazing monuments with simple technology (and with a hell lot of man labor and suffering as well) in the simplest way they could. It goes so beyond their imagination, that they try explain things with Aliens and such BS. Keep it up, You're doing a great job! Subscribe and like!

The theories about the Pyramid of Djoser being a giant well, and not a tomb, sure do make a lot more sense after learning Imhotep was appointed vazier of Egypt for helping with a drought. Also, on a side note: Imhotep's story sounds like the Joseph story that I learned about in church camp.

Djoser and Imhotep are probably the biggest reason why Egypt is the most fascinating of all ancient cultures. Their architecture of the great pyramids is the greatest wonder anyone has ever wrought. A true renaissance man thousands of years before the word came in vogue. Listening to his story the only names that come to mind are leonardo, Michelangelo and the great Benjamin Franklin. His talents were so diverse as to be inconceivable. Visualize a greater Frank Lloyd Wright, Galileo and Dr. Kildare in the same man! Perhaps only Franklin rivals him in all history.

Imhotep's contributions to Egypt are identical to Joseph's, the Hebrew youth who was sold to a caravan of slave traders by his ten elder brothers. To my knowledge, no one else in history had been elevated in status, just below that of Pharoah, and given such authority over Egypt. His ability to translate and interpret the Pharoah's dreams of prosperity and famine, and how to prevent catastrophic results, earned Joseph the admiration of all of Egypt. Joseph was the favorite son of Jacob; he was not buried in Egypt as he made the Hebrews promise to take his bones with them when time came for them to leave Egypt. And they did.

Joseph and Imhotep are one and the same. His empty tomb (because they took his bones with them) that contained a broken statue of him was found in the Delta region, where the Israelites settled. (There's a very good KZread video on the subject of the tomb and statue being found by archaeologists.) The statue had red hair, and the famous multi-colored cloak. But Imhotep (Joseph) was not the first pyramid builder and the step pyramid was not the first pyramid. The Great Pyramid was constructed by Thoth in prehistory over a one hundred year period from 11,500 to 10,500 BC using anti-gravity technology. Yes, Imhotep was the biblical Joseph "Prince of Egypt," and the huge vertical underground pits at the step pyramid complex are the grain storage bins that were used for the seven years-worth of grain. Ron Wyatt KZread videos correctly state this fact (about Imhotep/Joseph and the granaries) - and a whole lot more. And all of Ron's info is legit. How do I know all of this? I'll answer that with another question. Want the deepest of truths? "The Book of GOD" at A Course in Truth can be read in 5 minutes. But I warn you; it might blow your mind. I don't receive KZread comment notifications, but can be reached through my website.

Extremely well done video - I just found "History Explained" and I am glad I did. The problem with being a historian is as you progress it becomes a challenge as to whose version of historical events you will choose to embrace. This choice veers between truth and "accepted." Anger and resentment await every new step you take.

I love this kind of videos, please keep uploading content. I love Egypt history but I'd love to see something about Greece or Alexander the Great. You could talk about the Greek conquest of Egypt

I’m going chronologically for now. I will definitely be doing a video on Alexander the Great. Thank you for the suggestion!
