The First Persian Pharaoh | Cambyses II | Achaemenid Empire Documentary

Cambyses II was a powerful Persian king that inhereted the largest empire in the world from his father, Cyrus the Great. As the second king of the Achaemenid Empire, Cambyses sought to fulfil his father's vision of incorporating the whole of the Near East under Persian hegemony by conquering the kingdom of Egypt. Cambyses' talent for warfare led him to dominate his African neighbor and become the first Persian pharaoh of Egypt!

Cyrus the great's generosity and desire to treat his enemies with mercy is an important trait that should not be ignored and while I largely admire him, it is foolish to use that trait to put him above other great conquerers like Sargon, Ashurbanipal or Nebucanezzar. Also since Herodotus is a greek man living under persian rule so it's no surprise that he would spread lies about the first achaemenid kings.

I agree it’s super annoying they always cite that source like it is a fact. Only mention of Tomyris is one time in history written by Herodotus, which Herodotus heard as one of many stories surrounding Cyrus’ death and one he liked best.. obviously it’s completely made up. No way wouldn’t the Persians have avenged Cyrus’ death if he really died in such a way.

Herodotus truly loved crazy fictional theories, especially in the case of several Persian kings. Cyrus (Kuruš) the great died aged 70-72 in Pasargadae according to Xenophone and historians. Imagine believing that he went to war with the Massagetae aged 70+ , ultimately getting "killed and beheaded" by Tomyris! Now let's imagine this was possible, why wouldn't the Persians seek revenge after the "murder" of the noble father of greater Persia?!?!? 🤔🤔 The story of Cambyses most probably fiction as well. 😂😂

Hakshamani dynasty was founded by RgVedic Parsha clan not before 8th c BC. Old Irani "Shayatiya" New Irani "Shah" from Sanskrit Kshatrya. Kshatrapi from Sanskrit Kshatra =realm. In 2k BCs Bharath was stretched upto Anatolia, Mittani-Hatti-Hari deities are RgVedic. Only Bharath, Mesopotamia, Ezypt nations existed then. In 1k BCs, Mede, Persia, Greco-Roman, Saka, TochaArya, Perthia nations are fragmentation & extension of Aryas, In 1k CEs Aryas extended to Europe. Tribals don't give birth to conquerors. Rulers don't share common race with subjects even though they speak subject's language. Tribals could invade civilizaions only after Aryas became their chieftains. Arya R1a1aY, R1a1Y is the conqueror, it's in all later conquerors of Mediterranean, Europe, China ,Tibet, Turk, Mongol, C.Asia, SE.Asia, Arabia, Judea, Middle East. Lords of Turk Mongol tribals are TochaArya Khotan descents while lords of Arab tribals are MHH descents. Think why TM, Arab tribals couldn't invade civilizaions before 7th c.

Khazar, Avar, Yarlung, Khitan, Seljuk, Mamluk, Ghorid, Ghanavid, Mongol, Ottoman, Mughal & other so called Turkik dynasties are founded by K-T's sons. "Herodotus' writings are frequently accused of bias against Persia, as his work often seems intent on diminishing Persian power and casting its people in an unfavorable, even savage light. Such prejudices can arguably be traced back to the Persian attacks on Greece. Moreover, Herodotus tends to exploit mythology and exaggeration, leading to inaccuracies in his accounts. His methodology often strays from the path of truthful representation, raising questions about his credibility as a historian. His methods diverge significantly from contemporary historical methodology, suggesting a lack of impartiality in his historical depictions. Furthermore, the claim that Cyrus was beheaded in battle has been strongly contested, suggesting that Herodotus may have incorporated false information into his writings. It seems Herodotus may have been selective in his sources, choosing only the narratives that aligned with his perspectives, thereby compromising the integrity of his accounts."

You're obviously a troll trying to insult Persian people : references are provided at the end of the text 🔴The Persians are an Iranian ethnic group who comprise over half of the population of Iran.[4] They share a common cultural system and are native speakers of the Persian language[6][7][8] as well as of the languages that are closely related to Persian.[9] 🟥🟥🟥The ancient Persians were originally an ancient Iranian people who had migrated to the region of Persis (corresponding to the modern-day Iranian province of Fars) by the 9th century BCE.[10][11] Together with their compatriot allies, they established and ruled some of the world's most powerful empires[12][11] that are well-recognized for their massive cultural, political, and social influence, which covered much of the territory and population of the ancient world.[13][14][15] Throughout history, the Persian people have contributed greatly to art and science.[16][17][18] Persian literature is one of the world's most prominent literary traditions.[1 "Persian, Iranian". The Factbook puts 'Persian and Persian dialects' at 58 percent, but 51 percent of the population as ethnic Persians, while the Library of Congress states that Persian 'is spoken as a mother tongue by at least 65 percent of the population and as a second language by a large proportion of the remaining 35 percent. The 'Persian' mentioned in the latter report must thus also include Gilaki and Mazi. However, Gilaki and Mazi are actually from a different branch of the Iranian language subfamily than Persian, and could be as such be seen not as dialects, but as distinct languages. Suffice it here to say that while some scholars see categories such as Gilakis and Mazandaranis as referring to separate ethnic groups due to their linguistic traits, others count them as 'Persians' on exactly the same basis. ^ Crane, Keith; Lal, Rollie; Martini, Jeffrey (6 June 2008).
