The First Model A Ford Ads (1927)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Sometimes a deafening silence is all that you need to help create a buzz about your new product and that is exactly what Ford did in 1927 during the six month gap between the end of the Model T and the announcement of the Model A.
It was an unheard of strategy that had many doubting Henry Ford.
The week of November 28th 1927 saw Ford run a newspaper ad campaign across the United States to announce The New Ford Car.

Nicely produced focus on the weeks leading to the unveiling of the Model A. The closing of the Ford plants to retool for the A was pretty radical in that it stopped all income without stopping expenditures. Alfred P. Sloan, president of General Motors, later wrote that few people in the industry had anticipated "so catastrophic and almost whimsical a fall as Mr. Ford chose to take in 1927 when he shut down his great River Rouge plant completely and kept it shut down for nearly a year to retool, leaving the field to Chevrolet unopposed and opening it up for Mr. Chrysler's Plymouth."

My cousin restored a 30’ Ford model “A” Tudor. Beautiful car! I did some minor engine work on it and in trade he let me keep the car for most of the summer. It sure was fun to drive. Even brought it to a couple car shows.

My friend owned two Ford A's. He passed away in 2019 but i still remember his passion for this vehicle. Very good channel, can't wait for the episode how Ford made the deal to build the Gorki plant.

My Father has a 29 truck, 30 sedan. He loves those things. I like them but with a lil newer drive train and suspension. Don't have to be 700 HP but just a 4.6 out of a panther would be perfect. 239 HP and almost 300 tq. They're so small. It's like a VW Bug, u just don't realize how tiny they are until u get up close or sit in it. If a man is big and has a big wife or GF, it's gonna be a tight fit. Lmao

570 Dollars what a deal if you worked at a Ford plant you made 5 dollars a day, so you could afford to buy one easy full in one year.

I think the transmission in the Model T was actually a better deal....More like the automatics that were developed later...

The T planetary trans was unique and easy to use, and millions learned to drive this way. The T was not meant to go very high speed, so 2 speeds were enough. The A needed higher final gearing and another speed for the wider range. If the driver had only driven a T, the A would have been more difficult to use with it's manual clutch and non-synchromesh gears.

porous blocks has microscopic pin holes and they were oil starved during high speed turning. a simple baffle is all it needed
